Do they allow two adults plus  7 and 8 year old kids (a family)
All the other accommadations on this website describe

Anyone had any experience
We wanted to not go all inclusive because it seems
all the resorts have dropped their stay and eat free ages

We were there last week Wednesday. Stayed in the bungalows (117). It had 2 queen beds in it, Don't know about the hotel. I would send an email to locogringo reservations and ask them. They were very helpful for us.

Thanks, keep any info coming. It's nice to have impartial knowledge from people who have stayed there.

I just got back from Hotel Akumal Caribe 2 days ago, still trying to adjust to New York winter again.  I loved staying at HAC.  Room 418 in the hotel had 2 beds but fulls, not queens.  There seemed to be a number of rooms with two full size beds.  There was a family staying there with 2 daughters who seemed about 7 and 10.  It's good to ask for a ground floor room if you have kids.  The balconies have extremely low barriers.  I hear the bungalows are a little bigger, but no ocean view.

Yes jwinbeau, you'd be fine with that. We stayed there with our kids in '05 and at the time they were 7 and 12. We had 1st floor, third room from the beach - it was great! Also stayed in the bungalows in '07 when the kids were 9 and 14 - fine also. And I was so, so glad we didn't go AI once we got there. We really enjoyed venturing around to all the different restaurants, etc. ... not just once in a while but every day - and we did it pretty inexpensively.

As those above have posted, we were fine in a room with 2 beds with our 8 and 10 year old boys. Next year, we will try the bungalows as I hear they are a bit roomier. The restaurants nearby are excellent and I wouldn't bother with an AI anyway. We have considered doing a condo, or something a little more upscale next year, but after looking into it, we just can't beat the location of the Akumal Caribe.

Yes, you can have 2 adults & 2 kids in a room at the HAC. They also have roll-away beds if you need one.

I just got back from two weeks at Hotel Akumal Caribe and I loved it.  LOVED it.  It's my new favorite place to stay in Akumal.  Chopperita and I (sisters) were in room 418, which was the third room from the water on the top floor.  Room 418 had two double beds, good for traveling with friends but would also be good for a couple and two kids.  Room 418 had an awesome view.  We slept with the porch door open the whole time.  Could hear the sea and see the starry night sky and the dawn/sunrise from my bed! (Well, not the actual sun orb, just the changing light and color of the sky, but I woke up with the sun each day no matter how many margaritas I drank the night before).

I think the room below us on the ground floor, 3 rooms in from the water but room number unremembered, also had two double beds.  A family with two young girls, about ages 5 and 9, were staying in a room on the ground floor I think 5 rooms in and they seemed very happy there.
