So sad about The Hawk. Pam thanks for the link to that old thread of the Pink nightly story. I've never laughed so hard.

Happy Wednesday BCers

Sunny with a temp of 23 ...feels like 0 to me!
Thankful the wind has died off...

Gimping around this morning. Hip joint is paining me..bad.
Gathered up and hauled in the two weeks of groceries last night.
Paying for all those trips up the stairs with bags of groceries this morning. [:@]
Poppin ibuprofen with my morning coffee....thinking once again
(if I was able[:D]) about beat the living xit out of my brothers and my husband for putting
the kitchen and laundry room on the second floor.

Sherry, Hope you are more comfortable now that you are at home with Tom.

Cindy, My daughter is built like you. She is about 5' 4" with long torso.
Always have to shorten dress slacks for her. She recently had to start wearing
white oxford shirts to work. Had to go with men's oxford so she could tuck in the shirt as
required.

Have a great day all.... stay safe and warm.

Morning all

Cindy, same here. Long torso, short legs.

PJ, Hope your gimp gets up and goes!

Badger, I DO wish that winter would be over for you! And others suffering this long crappy winter.

Cold here this AM (not like some of you). Had to crank the electric blanket to 4 sometime about 4AM.

Another fairly disgusting day yesterday. Had to take Hubby by the hand to the MO Div. of Employment security. He is still only working sporadicly due to weather or job not ready. meantime he missed an appt with the Employment Security because he worked that day. So I had to straighten out the mess that it caused with his unemployment $$. I, in turn, tortured him afterwards because I wanted to shop for shoes.[:D] He chauffeured me to 4 stores and I was in and out of each in less than 20 minutes ...but with no shoes. He was flabbergasted that I could find shoes I wanted in any of the 4 stores. DUH. I am a woman with a messed up foot! I can't wear just "any" shoes! Stopped in Verizon twice to see about switching to a new phone and they were packed both times. Then on to Wally world. What fun! **Planned to stop and have dinner at the restaurant I am thinking of working in, and they were closed. So we went home and ate rotisserie chicken from Walmart![:-]

While at the Employment office yesterday, I overheard an older fella at the counter talking about his unemployment. Seemed he had a problem and the gal could not help him. I decided I might be able to help (since I worked there 10 years) so I walked outside and talked to him as he was leaving. Turns out he just quit his job of 32 years because the business sold to someone who was making it torture. **Turns out he was speaking of the man who OWNS THE RESTAURANT that I wanted to work in! Apparently this same man bought out the whole resort complex. Last year he only had taken over the restaurant. I got an earful about working conditions and unhappy employees. maybe I don't want to work there after all. [8|] I think I'll still check it out. I like a challenge and I'm not afraid of getting fired at my age![:D]

Yes Badger, they are long enough. But haven't you ever wished for an upgrade? Like coach vs first class?

But, Cindy, my dear, First Class is doable, longer legs for you? Not so easy.[:D][;)]

Mornin' Gators, it's Thirstday.

Under a winter storm watch here, supposed to start with freezing rain changing to snow, with up to 6". That is about the worst possible combination for driving (or working outside).[&:]

PJ, hope you feel better soon, hon.

Twirls, subjecting a man to shoe shopping should be listed under cruel and unusual punishment.[:D][:D]

The storm is past and we are still here. [:)] We have a new 47 cm (19") of snow. Luckily our power stayed on and the driveway has already been plowed. Now to shovel to it. Winds here were about 80 kph (about 50 mph) but a few other places here reached over 180 kph. Dang that was wild but at least there were no crocodiles! [:D] We will get rain on Saturday to make it really messy.
Badger, hope your coming weather isn't too bad.

Hi y'all! Nothing much going on here... still got white crap in our yard, and more forecast for today and tomorrow.
Have I told you how much I hate Michigan?

Mema is on a 3-day respite at a nursing home thru Hospice... it's to give ME a break. Will pick her back up early afternoon on Saturday. She will go there for 5 days when I go to Mexico, as Ali & DH both work out-of-town and certainly could not take care of Mema while I'm gone. This is basically to introduce her to the folks there so when she goes in May there are no issues.

Prayers for Sherry's recovery!.

Good Morning!

Sunny and blustery today. And cold....no snow so I can't complain too much.

I have a feeling that Mother Nature is simply going to bypass Spring this year and dump us right into Summer...[:o]

Having gardening urges and the ground is still frozen.

PJ Any better today?

Happy Thirstday BCers!

Cloudy. windy and raining on the hill.
Temps in the 50s.

Feeling better this morning. Still popping ibuprofen.

Husband is off to Vegas drag races this weekend.
SC will come home tomorrow afternoon. For her usual weekend
of work, eating and sleep. Reportedly is doing well in all classes.
Still can't believe she tackled Spanish, French and German all
in one semester. Oh... to be young and quick of mind again....[:D]

Morning all...as I squeak in just under the wire...again.

Mild and very blustery here. Possibility of severe weather.

I see MO is going to decrease the number of weeks of unemployment benefits to 14 weeks, down from 20, which was reduced from 26. I worked for a State unemployment office. I know how this operates. During good economic times they "borrow" from the UI tax fund that employers pay for their workers. They manage to wipe the "borrowed debt" off the books after time, leaving the fund depleted when it's needed. Then they "borrowed" from the feds for UI $$ when needed, and now they are upside down. So they cut the benefits for the workers like my husband. He was laid off 23 weeks last year due to no construction growth or contracts held up by bureaucrats. They didn't raise the tax on the big corporations which hold the contracts for these jobs and my husbands rich employer gets richer while our income will suffer. way to go MO senators!

Sorry for the rant!

Happy to hear. Been popping quite a few myself the last couple of days, but better today as well.

Was just up on a foot stool cleaning an upper cabinet when Mollie started whining. Ducked a little to look out the front window and there were 20-25 wild turkeys strolling thru the front yard. Ran to get the camera, but Mollie began barking furiously and it spooked them. Wish I'd gotten a picture, but it still made my day.[:)] Had to share.

Good Morning Pill Poppers, it's Finally Friday.[:)]

Yesterday we had rain turn to sleet and then to snow, looks like we received about 7''.[8D] I'll have about an hour of snow blowing to do before I head to work, weather guessers are saying temps in the 40s this weekend and then more rain and snow Monday. Might work all weekend to get that roof done before the next blast.
Feel bad for you Nipper.[:@]

Mid storm

Boat Drinx tonight.[:D]

BTW, if you look closely at the photo of those Crocs we are sitting by, notice that most of them are sort of slithering away from me...professional courtesy I think.[8|][;)]

Good Morning Campers and Lurkers

Looking forward to boat drinx.

Excellent rant

three languages in one semester is quite a feat. She must spend hours in the language labs (if they even have them any more).

I hear you on the gardening urges. The big drift in front of the machine shed is almost gone. Soon we will be able to drag out a trailer and play pick up sticks all around the property.

Glad you made it thru the storm safely Nipper.

Hope you are feeling better 1run.

Nice you can get a respite IC. I do not know how St Heidi does it.

Enjoy Freya's Day

Good Morning

Now that it is light out, I see that last night's thunderstorm turned into snow. Just a dusting, but depressing none the less.

Hey Badger, did you see that the Brewer's are doing a Hank the dog Bobblehead? September 13th, if you're interested. They say those tickets are going fast. As always, casa Kuehn B&B is open, but we'll have to be on the road early on the 14th for my family reunion in Illinois.

Tax office again today, and the person scheduled for tomorrow has a conflict so son has asked me to cover tomorrow.[:'(] Ah well, only 2 more weeks and it will be over. And CC, if you're lurking, I overheard an interesting tidbit concerning the White Sox...a "small world" story.
TaTa for now-need to water the house plants before I leave.

Happy Friday BCers!!

Cloudy and soggy on the hills this morning.
Lots of lightening in the storm last night.

Husband's missed his connection to Vegas due to weather.
Had to overnight in Denver. He was not happy.

Cooked up a pork loin overnight for a big batch of pulled pork.
Smells so good this morning. May have it for breakfast. [:D]

Hope jj and Twirls are OK this morning. Just saw on the news
they got the worst of the storm.

Happy anniversary Juan and Mrs. Juan! Does your gut allow dancing? Maybe just dinner out tonight. [:)]

[sm=love.png][sm=mini fete.png]

All back to normal. Rain tomorrow to wash away the snow - just hope it doesn't wash away the driveway too!

Then - guess what
A low pressure system approaching from the U.S. East Coast late on Saturday will slowly pass south of Nova Scotia on Sunday and Monday.

The precipitation associated with this system is likely to begin as freezing rain or ice pellets early Sunday morning over northern parts of Mainland Nova Scotia as well as Cape Breton before changing to rain later in the morning. The remainder of Mainland Nova Scotia is likely to see rain possibly heavy at times. On Monday periods of rain will likely change to periods of snow as the system pulls away.

It's still better than severe thunderstorms and tornadoes! Hope all are OK.

Happy weekend everyone

Morning all
Another rocky day for severe weather. We missed most of the worst last night.

I know winter is unending for a lot of you. here it "the money bleed" that is ongoing. Between Hubby's treatment, dental work, home things that have to be done NOW, ongoing monthly bills and the rising cost of food... My dad always said "they can't get blood out of a turnip". I think I know what turnips must feel like.

Juan - a most happy anniversary to you and the belly dancer. Our 24th will be in June. We are both very lucky huh?
