Thanks, Bimmy! I recognize many of those streets on the North side of the town square. Heard that Cancun Billy's is closed....

Badger, you can officially add Sweetie and I to the Attendee List: 4/30 - 5/8, HM. Gracias!
Can't wait!!

Woooo Hoooooo…..was wondering how long you were going to wait before telling everyone. I was keeping my mouth shut in case you wanted to pull a Beachey.
Can't wait to party with you guys again!!!!!!!!!!!
Peace, Bimmy

Mapes, added you to the list, great news!
Yes, Cancun Billys has been closed for quite a while now, but one of the former owners, Joe, now owns Burger Underground, we had awesome burgers there last night.

Bimmy, looked briefly at your link and I have never heard or seen Taqueria Mike, certainly not in that location. I do, however, know where you can get Tacos Al Pastor on the port side.

Bimmy, just had a chance to look at that link again and I thought that building that looked familiar, it does, because last night we ate there, only it now is Burger Underground. It was only Taqueria Mike's for a short time and the food was excellent, but many of those small places like that disappear from trip to trip. There is a place just down the street from there that makes tacos al pastor in the afternoon called El Sazon de Mexico, I'll take you there.

Wag more....bark less.

Badger, when you refer to the port (left) side are you referring to south of the town square?
What's the name and location of this place? I'll search for it.
What about Tacos.com on the north side? Do they have good Al Pastor tacos?
I'm thinking Tuch Tlan might be a short walk from HHM where I can get good tacos at a reasonable price.
Can't wait amigo!!!
Peace, Bimmy

Bob, the locals call the beach town area "Puerto" or port. The pueblo is referred to as La Colonia.

Not sure if Tacos.com does Al Pastor, but the price there is over double what you would pay at a place like El Sazon de Mexico. El Sazon is relatively new place, probably not on g-maps. I hope to find time before the trip to make up maps for everyone showing our favorite places to eat. I posted some food pix from El Sazon on the BC thread yesterday.

I talked to our friend Charlie Brown yesterday and he said he can bring a boat directly to Hacienda Morelos to pick up snorkelers. Here is a video shot on the reef, Charlie can be seen near the end.

Thanks Badger,
El Sazon IS on G maps. I checked it out and it is exactly the kind of place I'm looking for. Looks a little far to walk but I suppose a little exercise won't hurt this old man. I'm sure I'll find some other places south of the square closer to HHM that have good cheap tacos also. (Tuch Tlan)
That would be sweet if Charlie Brown picks us up at HHM beach to take us out to the reef. Do you know his cost?
I hate bringing up cost but being retired has me on a budget and if I stick to it I can go on vacation more often.
Peace, Bimmy

Sundog, I love your signature "PMASB 19 & AASB 19". Looking forward to spending time with you at both mi amigo.
Are you guys gonna be close to Steve's condo in HMB?

Hi B & B!

It looks like you guys are having perfect weather and a wonderful time.  I'm loving all of your food pictures!  You had mentioned that the HM has refrigerators to rent ~ we will definitely want one for our room ~ is that something that I can arrange ahead of time so that it will be nice and cold when we get there?  If so, do you know how I would contact them to make those arrangements?

Buy a styro cooler for your room. 75 pesos

Ice is 20-25 pesos a day

It will keep your drinks MUCH more cooler than a $10/180 peso luke warm fridge

Hi VSD!  Holly had told me to just buy a Styrofoam cooler and ice from Chedraui but I was thinking it would be easier with the fridge.   If the refrigerators don't cool that well, we'll just go with the cooler!

Thanks for your response!!!

Hi Susy,
The advantage to having a Styrofoam cooler is we can take it down to the pool/beach area and avoid having to walk back up to our room to snag another beer/drink. I'm lazy, sucks to be me. LOL
We can walk right across the street to refill our coolers with ice and beer/drinks once a day.
Peace, Bimmy

But where and when do you go pee, if not when you go back to your room for a refill?

Hey Gang, I vote to place VSD in charge of a cenote tour.

Bimmy, Babs talked to Charlie Brown yesterday and he said the base rate is now $30 U.S. per person, but with more people and repeat trips you can probably get a lower rate.

Susy, how large of a suitcase do you bring on trips? I now have to bring a large size to bring gifts down here to my friends and gifts back home for others. I have a wheeled cooler that I fill full of my clothes for the trip down ( bought at Walmart) and I use the cooler at the beach. I'll post a pic of it when I can.

Saweeet !!!
Will be nice to see you guys again.
Looking like AASBers + BCers = one hell of a good party !!!!
As Sundog calls it...…. PMASB 2019 (I'd say PMSB but peeps would think I'm referring to a not so nice woman in a xitty mood)

Badger and Twirls, did you guys warn the establishments while you were down there that a large group of Locos will be coming down in May?

How is everyone getting from the airport to HHM?
I found this on Expedia….(Speedy Shared Shuttle..... for one person, one way door to door for $16)....nice price.
 https://www.expedia.com/ground-transfers/search?airportCode=CUN&hotelName=Hacienda%20Morelos%20Beach%20Front%20Hotel&hotelId=17118967&pickUpDate=2019-04-30&pickUpTime=13:00&location=Cancun%2C%20Quintana%20Roo%2C%20Mexico%20(CUN-Cancun%20Intl.)&adults=1&children=0&infants=0&hotelLatLong=20.846004%7C-86.877046&airportLatLong=21.040397%7C-86.874322&regionId=5133635
Peace, Bimmy

Edit..... I have to remember to bring my LG cooler along as there will be a few peeps that haven't signed it yet.

That's the transportation I am using. But I bought round trip for $32.00 I am wishing I was staying an extra day. I don't think I can change though. My included airfare had all kinds of stipulations. I'm not even allowed to use the  lavatory! (JK)

Speedy  (or Super) Shuttle has a reputation for NOT showing up on the return (back to the airport) portion - so have a backup plan

Bimmy, yes, I told a couple of places that we were bringing a gang of locos.

Babs and I prefer to take the ADO bus to PM, walk out of the airport and bear to your right, buy a ticket at the kiosk near the bus, then once you arrive in PM grab a taxi to HM. On return to airport we always take a taxi door-to-door, les than $25.00 U.S.

I still don't like the use of styrofoam coolers, they break easily and many end up littering the streets or beaches eventually. Twirls said Bernie has a soft sided cooler with wheels that he brings.  If all else fails I will try to bring my 2 small coolers for someone to use.

BB, yes, taxis are extremely easy to find, Chedraui is right across the street from HM and there are almost always at least 2 taxis waiting for customers in the parking lot on the other side of Chedraui. BTW, all of the Taxistas love taking someone to the airport, as that is one of their most lucrative routes compared to the dirt cheap prices they charge in PM itself.

Hola Po Mo gang ,
Who else is going down to Akumal for AASB '19 after our stay in Po Mo?
What dates and where ya staying?
I'll be in HMB from 5/6-5/12.

Badger had mentioned about possibly getting a van to shuttle a bunch of peeps down tp Akumal for a get together with the AASB gang. You still plan on doing this Paul?

Is the included breakfast that HHM is offering us a continental breakfast or a full breakfast? Do you have options to choose off a menu?
I'm getting pumped, can't wait.
Peace, Bimmy
