Underwater camera recommendations?

Looking for a decent underwater camera....nothing fancy/super high end, no separate camera and housing.  Reviews for these types on Amazon run the gamut. If anybody is having good luck with theirs, please share details.  Thanks!

I have a Fujifilm XP , Very reasonable price, and three trips to Akumal, snorkeling etc. and no problems, and great pics. Bought it for  snorkeling , but now it's the only camera we take!

I've had the Fugifilm a couple of different times. After about 3 yrs on each they failed by leaking water getting into them. I now have a second Ricoh made by Pentax (bought on Amazon). Again, the first Ricoh failed after about 3 yrs. I really like the video and picture quality both in and out of the water. The most important thing is to rinse them well when getting out of the salt water and then rechecking the seal for any little bit of debris before entering the next day. Here's my latest video from February this year- the water clarity was bad for most of our trip so the pics are not as clear as they should be-https://youtu.be/rCXOYnN2JZI

Hi Waterbaby, I hope you didn't jinx my fuji, It's gone 3 years with no trouble!! We had a Cannon D-10 and loved it but it failed in 3 years! Lucky I had insurance on it. Three years seems to be a bad thing for water cameras!

Not to hijack this thread but we had a GREAT time at ABBWR first week of March. Getting to be a rather large group of friends meeting there the same week every year! Already planning for first week in March next year. It would be great to add you to the group!
We travel alone so it's nice to hang with the people we meet there if we choose but still can do things on our own time.

Good to hear from you , Husker
P.S. I'll try to find time to do a small report soon

I've had a Nikon Coolpix for 5 years and it's never malfunctioned or leaked.  I've used it at least 75 to 80 times underwater and it's still kicking.  I use it for all my camera needs not just underwater and it takes great photos and video.  I have a couple of friends who have the Olympus Tough.  One of them experienced a leak while snorkeling but it may have been operator caused as you have to be careful with all models to make sure there is no sand on the seals.  Here's a link to some reviews: https://www.techradar.com/news/photography-video-capture/cameras/best-waterproof-compact-camera-1260610

We had an Olympus tough cam and loved it until I dropped it.

This is what we're taking down in June: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XFM62GB/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'd be interested in hearing your review and seeing some pictures/video Tricky.  It looks like a cheaper GoPro, and if it does a good job, it'd be a fantastic alternative to the pricey Hero 5/6.
