Really pretty, is that a parrotfish? I'm not the best by far when it comes to telling one fish from another.

I really appreciate the posts here and on Facebook. I know you guys have identified all these fish and if you could name them daily it would help me with some Pacific fish identification that I'm working on. The fifth fish is similar to one I need and the 11th fish, the yellow striped guy might help me too. I've noticed a behaviour on both coasts with fish similar to both of these along with what I believe to be juvenile Jack Crevalles or similar silver fish where the crevalles,"hound" the other fish of a similar size and follow them everywhere. I amuse myself with possible reasons for this behaviour as it certainly appears that the crevalles could be trying to, "GET SOME STRANGE" or that they sense the other fish might be ready to have babies to eat or some other purpose. Recently it occurred to me that the Crevalle type fish may just be practicing their herding skills with predator play like cats do.

The squirrel fish identification on Facebook already filled one of my many blanks.

Are you still using the silver Olympus camera ? Mine quits and freezes sometimes but always revives on shore. Mine also builds power while idle after a shutdown in my pocket and will take a few more pictures after a rest.

I sensed , I think correctly in hindsight, that the snorkeling in Akumal would be better than Puerto Morelos last November and stayed in Akumal and missed you guys as a result . Keep the churned up condition in Akumal in mind when judging Puerto Morelos because the shore snorkels there really can be very good and varied but in deeper water that is more dependent on clarity.
Thanks for the photos and any identification help.

    Please be happy always

Sorry to have missed you in November.  Number 5 is I believe a schoolmaster and number 11 a yellowtail snapper
