AVANT Rental Cars?

Does anyone have experience with these folks? I got a better price with Avant than with Easyway or America/Cancun etc. They also said they would meet me at the airport with the car and I can drop it there at return. Price included all insurances. Even a free cooler to use for the duration,  if needed.  I have read 1 review,  the people said how great it was to just load up the car and go. No tricks no extra charges.
Would love some feed back from anyone that has used them. I'm really leaning towards these guys for next spring.

When I emailed them, I had to ask for the additional insurance including zero deductible and it came very close  to the America online price quote.

So just waiting for others to report back on their experiences.

You may need to send your credit card, DL info via email ahead of time so they can do the pre-paper work. Not so sure about this

One positive thing about these guys is.. no negative reviews about being ripped off and added charges. I think most people only post when they feel the company is not treating them right. If everything goes  as planned, we often don't hear about it.  I'd still like to hear from anyone that has used them. A few positive comments would go a long way in confidence in this company.

I would love to hear more too. We're bringing the kids next trip and I have been looking at Isis out of Playa specifically because they can do the pick up and drop off at the airport with your car - no going back to the office.

We are using them(Isis) in 3 weeks Carol.  They are delivering to our condo for us.  His aunt on Cozumel has always run a wonderfully honest business.

So now I'm seeing that Prime Rentacar has a website that is virtually the same as Avant. Anyone used Prime?
And Carol and Crunch... please let me know how Isis works out on airport delivery and if there is a cost.

I will still, happily take any reviews from people using Avant. I've gotten 4 positive reviews. All have said that delivery and dropoff at the airport is great. Paperwork is ready and quick. And.... so far.. the best price for my situation on a 15 day rental.

I sent in a reservation request this morning and it looks like they are $45 more than American...and they want my cc number. Looks like I'll be sticking with American for feb.

Yeah I submitted my credit card on their secure web page and I'm fine with that as it will save time once we arrive.  They don't put any hold on the card beyond the agreed upon price and they have not put any charge on it yet.  Most rental companies will negotiate if you share a quote from another company.  Anyway I will let everyone know how it goes!

Awesome hoodoo99!! They actually quoted me a better price than either Easyway or American. 15 days is best deal.  5 free days. It just so happens that was the time we planned. Anyway.. they said they'd match or beat any legit quotes.
I'd just like to hear from  a real time renter on the whole process and car quality. Having the car ready as soon as you come out of the airport with none of the bull makes them very appealing.
Looking forward to your report.

Got another positive review for these guys. People said it all ran smooth, both coming and going. Decent vehicle, and.. they do not run your card for a security.  I think I'll wait to hear what hoodoo has to say and probably confirm the booking.

A few more positive comments on the Tulum forum. Good rental experiences. They are getting strong reviews.
Quick paper signing,  run Credit card, and you are on your way. Decent vehicles.
Sounds like it 's a good idea to call them on your return to airport, for pickup on vehicle.  They take you on your word for pick up time and will not be real early waiting for you. Like I say, call them on your way in.

In Akumal now...Rental with Avant went off without a hitch.  We arrived on time and customs was super fast, walked out of the terminal and didn't see the Avant rep there, but moved to the side and powered on my phone.  By the time I did that I looked up and saw the guy there with the sign for me.  Got in the car quickly (they have another rep drive the car to 10 minute parking while you sign the agreement).  After that it was a quick Adios and we were on our way.  Pretty new Chevy Aveo, runs great tank was 1/4 full and we drove straight to Akumal and still had over 1/8th of a tank even with PDC traffic jam for 20 minutes.  Ice chest rental included for free as I asked for that up front.  I started having trouble removing the key after shutting off the engine and putting it in park and emailed to ask if there was any trick to it.  It was easy sometimes and sometimes not.  They offered to immediately replace the car and I declined since I figured it's just a little sticky sometimes.  Anyway I got the hang of how to turn the key subtley different and the key comes out sometimes first try sometimes second or third.  No problemo.  I was impressed they were willing to deliver a new car to me though!  I made sure to set the exact time I wanted for meeting them to return the car when I signed to agreement.  So far it's been a great experience.

I've been emailing back and forth between Avant and America.  Looks like Avant is the winner......$284 (taxes and insurance included) for a Chevy Monza automatic 1/28/15 - 2/4/15   Not bad in my opinion.   only a few bucks cheaper than America, but I like that we'll get the car at the airport.

Who's giving you a better deal? I asked for quotes from America, Easyway and Avant on a 15 day rental. Easyway was was the most and Avant the best deal by over $100 US. I have not played each company against each other to see if they will reduce rates.  I do know, that getting the car delivered at the airport, has me leaning towards Avant.

Did a few comparisons for our upcoming 30 day trip in March.  Here are the comparisons:

The following quotes include taxes, full insurance and zero deductible based on a Nissan Tiida with ac, 4 door, auto.

Avant:  $1,566 = $52.20/day  (forgot to mention, this rate included 10 days free car rental rate on a 30 day car rental with 30 day full insurance)

Easyway:  $2,032.32 = $67.74/day

America:  $1,754.34 = $58.48/day

*************************************************************************************

ISIS:  $1,500 = $50/day  (VW Jetta with ac/manual)  Free delivery of vehicle to/from Cancun airport.  Edgar replied to my email quote request within 2 hours.

*************************************************************************************

Hertz:  $1,827.82  (no insurance)

*************************************************************************************

Thrifty:  (VW Jetta with ac/auto/4 door)

$378.80 price for 30 days car rental only.  Does not include taxes, full insurance and zero deductible.    We will negotiate that onsite again with "Santos" who now knows us  quite well.  We have rented through Thrifty for the last 5 consecutive years.

In March of this year, we paid $1,293.61 = $41.73/day for 31 days.  Full insurance, taxes, zero deductible and new vehicle (5,000 kilometers).  No issues over the years - 30 minutes usually, in and out.

Understandably, you need to negotiate with Thrifty onsite.  No "total price" guarantee in USD which is a more comfortable feeling for most of us.  Peso quote only.   As always, do what is most comfortable and has worked for you in the past.

Hope this comparison was helpful.

Great Info!!!! Very helpful. Similar quotes inline with our trip too. Easyway is going to lose customers at the rate they're going.

We returned home on Friday and everything was perfect with Avant.  I pulled into the 10 minute parking at Terminal 2 about 5 or 10 minutes past the agreed upon meeting time and the Avant rep was there by the time I got out of the car and went to the trunk to unload.  He handed me the blank credit card form and we were on our way.  I'm very happy with the service and quality of the car.  We had the weird problem where the key wouldn't always come out after turning off the engine, but I found just taking it out of Park and back into Park usually fixed that.  The car itself looked new and had less than 16K Km on it.  I highly recommend Avant to everyone!
