Chemuyil

We are thinking about renting a house in Chemuyil for a few weeks in November for just the two of us. It looks like a neat little place. I was wondering if someone has some insight on which house would be better that the others or any other good info on staying there.

thanks in advance

I would try something in Akumal first look for a bungalow maybe... I would like to be close to more. The positve is that the beach across from you is great:) Also some nice, local, food options there.

I have not stayed in Chemuyil, been there on the collectivo.   Cute town.  I would seriously consider staying there if I was renting a car.  It's a great location between Akumal and Tulum.  I guess it depends on what you want to do and where you want to be.  You won't be on the beach, close, but...you'll need to drive to the beach.  Have you looked on the Locogringo accomodations listings?  That is the best first place to start?  Good luck and enjoy.

Chemuyil or Chan Chemuyil (right next door)? Many places to rent in Chan Chemuyil, just do a google search for rentals. I would suggest that option for the traveler who is looking for a more "life in Mexico" type of vacation since you will need transportation (or walk to collectivo station).

No restaurants in Chan Chemuyil. Plenty of them in Chemuyil and beach access is across the highway for both. They are both great neighborhoods just depends on what type of vacation you want. :)

Each house is appointed slightly so do a google search to find the website and go from there.

If u have specific questions I will be happy to help ( I live here and not affiliated with the web site) and will give u my honest opinion.

Maggie--Just wondering.  Does the collectivo actually go to the Chan Chemuyil neighborhood or do you have to catch it in the town fo Chemuyil?  If that is the case, how long of a walk is it?
Drove thru the neighborhood once but don't recall how far away it is from the actual town.

Collectivo goes into chemuyil pick up and drop off at the zocalo which is a mile walk from chan chemuyil. Collectivo picks up and drops off from 307 for chan chemuyil at the palapa.....which is a much shorter walk....blocks depending on where u are staying,
