You guys broke the ice this year by getting a group to go to Pavo. I applaud you.
I wanted to check out the new ABBWR one last time to see what the changes are. I'm sure once the big Secrets Resort next door is opened Akumal will be WAY to crowded for my likings.
I vote we try different places from now on. The problem is everyone will have a different favorite they want to go to so maybe we could select a few of the choices and vote on them. Hopefully everyone will jump on board and we'll all be at the same resort again.
Peace, Bimmy

Edit.....my nomination for AASB '16 is the CRT on Xpu Ha beach.

But, Bimmy, If the main group goes to CRT, then it wouldn't be AASB anymore. It would be XHASB.
Seriously, we've always had people staying at different places. And then we usually get together for happy hour at Lol Ha and/or the beach crawl. So, not so much different.
Personally, I'm hoping that ABR and Akumal Bay are still enjoyable after the Secrets opens. I'd still like to be able to stay there with a large group.
As Yogi said, "nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded".
That being said, I've wanted to try out CRT and we'll just have to see what things look like next year.

Hi Mona.  I may opt for another Pavo trip, if this upcoming stay turns out nice.
Bimmy,  I could go to CRT again if the rate was reasonable for a single. Maybe I'll find a rich girlfriend by then.
Mark, go for the CRT; you won't regret it. My last stay was 2009 & 2010.  It probably has added some neat stuff and it's a short ride to Akumal. Enjoy.

See you on the Tulum Beach Crawl & all the usual places in Akumal.

We always stop at the Playa beach club by CRT and walk the beach

Remember, CRT has a very small 150 yard or less beach front so the chairs are stacked deep

CRT is also introducing a class system. Pay more and get upgraded rooms, certain bars/alacarte/bfast separate beach area (a few are not happy as the other rooms are needing upgrades)

We still like the condos in the area.

I was wondering how you guys survived the heavy snowfalls in the NE this year and I just read your post on BC.
Sorry to hear about your misfortune but you have another vacation to look forward to in 2 months. Hopefully the snow will be done by then.
See ya soon.
Peace, Bimmy

I'm with you Bernie.  I like the smaller resorts, don't want to be around hundreds of people.  We may have to rename it "ASB" Adult Spring Break.  I meant actually seeing a different part of Mexico or another place altogether.

I'll get through this year and see what next year brings.......

I understand, Mona and no worries.  I'm open to trying any new area/hotel in the future.

As far as the crawl, tacos at Parayso's sounds yummie.  It took a long time to get served at Ziggy's the last two years and then a long wait for all the bills to get to the correct people ( I'm sure a few tabs got screwed up ).
Mateo's looks cool.  I've never stopped there.  Who are all those fine looking folks in the picture?

On a related subject, Beachey wanted to do a day trip to the beach bar North of El Paraiso called Bar Adelita. He said it reminded him of the old Moonrise bar. I havn't tried it. Maybe we can squeeze that visit on an off day. Input?

Becker,
We ate at the taco bar at Paraiso last year. Tacos were good. But, it is very small. I would be surprised if they can accomodate a large group like ours. Have they been contacted?
Also, wonder why you are thinking of Mateos which is off the beach instead of one of the restaurants on the beach like Ahau, Las Estralis, or Ak Kin?
Please don't take my comments as being negative. I know how much effort it takes to organize the beach crawl. And I appreciate your taking on the challenge.

I have a sign up thread on the AASB 2015 thread in Big Serg's "Akumal you gotta love it" over on FB.
In case any of you didn't see it you can let me know here if you are going to be in the fishing derby on 4/28 from 3pm-6pm.
I need to know how many boats to reserve.
Peace, Bimmy

No offence taken, Alma thought it might be a nice place to try, the vans will pick us up and take us there.  Her and Marco are going for dinner there tonight to check it out.  So, the taco stand will just be a snack if people want I guess.

and on another note, I think vans will be the mode of transportation this year for the crawl as the bus can't get into Pavo, we will have to walk out the where the taxis are, (not sure how far that is)  so van to PavoReal and vans to ABBWR.  we are working it out I think that you will pay when you are getting on the van since no one wants to run around two beaches collecting money, however I will have a list of peeps before hand to give to Marco and I bring my laptop with me for communication purposes.

Sad
I miss all the chatting on this thread before going down for AASB. Remember when there used to be 60-80 pages on the old AASB threads.
There are a couple threads on FB that are AASB related (So So can show you) but there hasn't been a lot of chatting on them lately.
I can't wait to be back in our favorite place in the world with a bunch of super cool friends.
BRING IT BABY !!!!!  WOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO !!!!!
Peace, Bimmy

those are two different threads Bimmy, keep it to the AASB 2015 page, it's hard enough without a bump to keep track, but we're trying.....

Alrighty then, Bimmy !  A whoot whoot to all  !!!  I'm always excited to go back to the Roo.

You are correct that many of the "old-timer" LG folks don't post that often but I bet they still visit from time to time, just to see what's happening. Plus there are many new faces on the other threads with questions & comments.  I know, let's offer a reward to some of the lost LG's to come back for a quick 'hi' on this thread. Like a million pesos or something. Ha ! Seriously, would like to see some of the 'lost' folks come back for a bit.
I miss them.

A million! Pick me pick me!! lol
Adelita beach bar is a cool little place. It did somewhat remind us of the old Moonrise. Ended up there with a group (Kansas Kid, Weegamoose, and a couple of others) last August and had good time. We happened upon it when walking north up the beach from Mezzanine after lunch one day, it's just north around the bend from El Paraiso. You can do a google beach walk view of it.

You can't drink all day if you don't start early!!
