Another question on Las Casitas...

Less than a month to go to our first non-AI trip to Akumal; we'll be at Las Casitas in early June!  For those familiar with Las Casitas, do you have any recommendations on units to stay in; we've booked one of the smaller units?  Can they be requested much in the same way we requested buildings at ABR?  As always, any input is greatly appreciated.

Hey Darren,
I have been staring there for many years and most all of the units are very nice. Your bed set up will determine to some extent which unit you get. The Management says they cannot guarantee a certain unit but they will work with you.

I like any of the units from about 8 -17, just because I have stayed in all of them. They are all great.
Ask for mattress toppers.

Have a Great Time

Darren if we are handling your reservation, we can make your request for a specific unit, we cannot guarantee it, but we work closely with management and will do our best.

We have Las Casitas reserved for next March through LG - we are SO excited. I keep hearing "request mattress toppers" over and over in reviews and posts. However, when I made my reservation last month and asked about beds, I was told all the beds have been updated now. Should we still request mattress toppers? My husband has back issues and sometimes beds can be an issue.

Thanks for the replies, everyone.

Yes, Kay, we've booked through LG (you've made it too darn easy to do it any other way!! )  Scott's been handling our reservations so I'll email him.

Again, Thanks!!

I always book through LG way too good service not to!

But I've gone there so long that I don't think and tend to deal directly on little stuff because they know me.

If they say the beds are replaced I would believe it, the last time I was there was Sept. 2013. They said at that time they were in the process.
Maybe someone else has stayed there more recently and can comment.

One more question... do the room numbers ascend going away from Lolha or decend?  Just trying to get a reference as to where particular rooms might be.  Seems I saw a post at some point that mentioned this but I can't locate it now.

Thanks,

Darren

I have in my notes that 1 is the furthest from LolHa - out on the point, then going up in #'s as you go towards LolHa.

That's correct. We have stayed in #1 and it the farthest one from Lol Ha. It's right next to Laura's house at the point. #1 has the largest palapa patio area of all the units, and is very private and quiet as it is at the end. We loved it there. The unit itself is very nice and well equipped. There were just the 2 of us so it was great having 2 master bathrooms, and a spare bedroom to stow the suitcases in. I would definitely stay there again

We stayed in #9.  I have a trip report on here somewhere for it.  Perfect location.  You walk right out your patio down a few steps and right onto the beach.

#9 is my favorite too.  #10 is owned by the same people who own #9.

Thanks, everyone, for the clarification on the rooms.

And thanks for the awesome pics, 9KrazyCats... you've now made our next 3 weeks just a little more painful!
