Hola Clubbers!
Ya'll have been busy!
C&C  congratulations on the new additions!  They look like they feel at home.  I think rescue dogs automatically have a bond with each other when they find a new home. You just need to get a bigger bed.   What kind of dog is the little one?  I forgot her name, sorry.

Bernie and Twirls... I concur with everyone else.  I've always felt they used both of you- that's just from the BC stories as I've never met them.   Sometimes it's best to let friendships go-

It seems everyone has really bonded since the POMO trip.  Wish we could have gone, but Florida was fabulous.  It felt like we were gone for a long time, but I had a really hard time entering back into real life.  I just want to live by the beach.

Today is Mom's 80th  BD... We took her to dinner last Sunday  because trying to get everyone together was like herding cats... She enjoyed it.  She was afraid we were having a surprise party for her and stressed over it all day, even though I assured her it was just her kids.  Once she realized there was no surprise party, she settled down and enjoyed the dinner.

Golf tournament today- Looking forward to playing today.  We finally joined the golf course, I wouldn't call it a country club because it's a public course in a small town.  $600 year for unlimited play and pay $15 for cart.  And it's a nice course!
And, I get to play in a tournament with work next week.  Funny little story. My friend was taking some lessons and the instructor asks his students what they want to improve on.  He told her he had one lady tell him she just wanted to be able to get out of work when they had golf tournaments.  I thought that was funny.

PJ glad you are feeling better, but you must have spread your germs to KC.  Mr JJ came up with a bad man cold, then I got it a week later.  I will say, I feel bad at rolling my eyes at him when his first came on.  It knocked me out of service for a day- as in I had to call in sick.  I had zero energy- lay down after a shower, lay down after drying my hair, lay down after applying make up, so I just ended up laying on the couch and calling in.

Twirls  so glad you have recovered from your fall.  sounded painful.
MB  You mentioned blue collar trades the other day.  I just had the same conversation recently.  I don't understand why there are not promotions to learn a trade instead of going to college and end up with a huge debt working in a completely different field.  Learn a trade, have way less debt, make very decent money and put the time in.  Mr JJ was able to retire at the age of 56.  I think Mike Rowe has some kind of program going on to help people learn a trade.

Frank congratulations on your Grandbaby!
Uphill... pretty scenery!
Crunch... Hope you can find pain relief soon!
Jamie.. Yay on getting your car passed.  I remember you had a hard time last year.

Time to find my golf attire.  Enjoy your day!

Good morning BCers!
Another beautiful day on deck.
SC came home late last night with her birds and bunny.
Had to throw the cat out of the house after morning feeding.
Usually leaves on her own.  But not today.  She really wants that bunny!

C&C,  sweet that Joey came into the bed seeking comfort last night.
Sorry about your lack of sleep Cindy.

jj,  glad you had such a great vacation in Florida.   Pics were great!
Enjoy your round of golf today.   Belated Happy Birthday wishes to your mom.

Bernie,  looks like you had a great time with the guys!

All I have...  Wishing everyone a great day!

Good late morning to all

I'm having a lazy day.  It's cool and rainy so good weather for laying on the couch.  Planned to read but it makes me too sleepy.

JJ, glad you had a great Florida vacation.  Looks like the place you stayed was fabulous!

Bernie, happy to see you and your buddies on the boat.

Cindy, did Joey get in the bed with conehead?

Mornin BCRs

Been crazy busy with Zoey, gardening, cleaning, etc.  Windows on the house are cleaned, DH built a railing on our deck to keep Zoey in.  She is learning to walk on the leash is now 13 weeks old, she does a sit.  Working with her getting comfortable around clippers - poodles require lots of grooming, so this will be a big part of her life. Managed to get a few inches of puppy fluff off her this AM.

We have 2 bee keepers as neighbours, they have successful established 2 colonies, more square foot gardens have been added. Have enjoyed the pool once so far was nice and warm.

Twirls sorry about your fall, feel better soon.  Hope PT can help with your new aches.

C&C your new blondies are cuties!

BB for plantar fasciitis you need to stretch big time in bed before you weight bear on your feet.  There are boots and socks you can wear at night which keeps tendons flexed.  Get a towel and put it around your foot and pull/stretch hold it for 30S and do several reps at least 3 x per day. There are tons of exercises to help do a youtube on it.  Fill up a couple of plastic bottles with water and throw in the freezer to roll your foot on after.  Kiss bare feet walking goodbye, always wear orthotics or shoes with arch support.  Good luck, it's not easy.  I've modified Crocs to fit inserts...

BeBe she was gone when you were in MX, sorry but you deserve better.  Looks like some serious Lily Mae fun ahead.

Bobski nice views, wow beautiful hiking area.  That lake is gorgeous.

PJ have done lots of chicken and mushroom tacos and lower in fat. YUM, hope it turned out well. BTW there are lots of great tutorials on grooming yourself if you're into it.

Tejas tomorrow will try and get some pix for ya of little Zoey.

Nice to have a long weekend Gem, hope your restaurant outing was fun.

Mapes your critters are sooo cute, hey did Sweety's knee heal up ok?

DH went on the annual fishing with our sons on the island.  Brought back lots of halibut and Dungeness crab and caught a small amount of salmon.

Jamie congrats on the vehicle testing.

MB you are a busy lady, those new daliahs sound lovely.  Our first daliah bloomed the other day, love them.

Crunch great to hear about the doggy door working so well.

JJ good for you on golfing and that membership sounds great.  Good luck on the tourney, catching some of the Open this weekend.

Happy Fathers Day to all tomorrow.  Make it a good day everyone else.

Arrived and enjoying the Roo!

Good Morning
Pouring rain. Took the dogs out through the garage to do their business so I didn't have to get soaked. Joey took care of things right away, but I couldn't get Sophie to go out of the garage. Kept trying to push her out, but the little devil pooed right on the floor mat at the service door. I know she's a mutt, but there is definitely Lab in her, so why is she so adverse to getting wet? At least there was a shovel handy to pick it up and get it out of the garage.

Holly, no. The cone head was a disaster, we did get some pool noodles and fashioned a fairly serviceable collar that has worked mostly to keep him from licking. Biggest issue is that some woman, obviously a crafter, went around town and bought up all the skinnier noodles, so we had to work with the fatter ones. They are not as flexible and kind of crooked rather than bended, and a couple of times Joey tried to get it off with a front foot and got the foot stuck into the collar. The cone was nearly impossible to get on him, all kinds of weaving of plastic tabs; try getting that on a resisting dog. Oh, and he is now up to 74 lbs. That is a lot of resisting dog. And the cone is so big he kept banging into doorways.

Won't be an outside day with this rain, I guess this will be our lazy day.
Have a good one!
Cindy
PS  Happy Father's Day to all the Dads!

Howdy and good morning everyone.

Sun is shining so beautiful this AM. Weather man said to expect a little rain in 40 minutes but I don't see much on the radar. Our current temp along the coast is 73F at 6:51 with a high of 84 degrees.

Didn't do a whole lot yesterday other than recoup from Friday's outing with Chet and Gary. Chet called to see if I wanted to go to the beach with them. It's Gary's last day on vacation and he wanted to sit on the beach and drink beer all day. Even Chet said he wasn't excited about it. So I decided to go to lunch at Fibber's. Tried something different to eat : shrimp sandwich. No food porn but darn, it was really really good and the GT's complemented the food nicely. hee, hee. When I got home I took a nap. Never did a walk as I just didn't feel like one.

Booked my Denver Christmas trip on A/A with the miles I had banked. Don't think I'll need them next year, at least not on the Mexico Caribbean side.

Today I'll wash the bedding and take stock of my bedding stored in two linen closets. I know I have enough for my bed and the guest bed downstairs but not sure if I have enough for the new queen upstairs. Also want to shop Lowe's & Home Depot for another ceiling fan; never did put one in the downstairs guest room.

Hi jj. Sorry I missed your post yesterday. Nice that you were able to be with your Mom last week on her 80th. Enjoy those outings while she is still mobile. How did the golf tourney go ?

PJ, very wise NOT to let the cat near SC's bunny. Cats' just cannot help themselves when it comes to 'hunting'. Sounds like you are feeling better. Good.

Thanks Crunch. I have a few more form Friday's time with the boys. I don't think I took any of Gary with his hair 'down'. It's way lower than his shoulders; the girls seem to like it.

Hi SoSo.  I look forward to a few picture of little Zoey. You were correct; Andrea was 'gone' alright. She seldom joined me at the ABR buffet, never sat next to me in the main bar and didn't ask me to join her on the beach or anywhere else. Enough of that carp.  I spent more time with Joe and Connie. I like them better.

Cindy, that is odd that Sophie didn't want to get wet. I assume that will change in time. Maybe you will have to go out with her to 'show' it's OK ?

I'll get to those pictures now. See y'all later.
Bernie

We got back late yesterday from a 2 day trip to Boston. My lady had an eye appointment and always wants me to go with her, in case they dilate her eyes, so I can drive. We arranged to meet some friends while there, and were discussing driving home. If we wait too long, we get stuck in bad traffic. Getting home at midnight is a reality. They offered us their spare bedroom for the night! So we stayed overnight. What a nice place and she is a great cook and host. In the morning we tour some of the beachfront homes and beaches and breakwaters in Scituate. What a nice area, and that sea breeze!!! On the way home, we dd some shopping in tax free New Hampshire, stocking up and get home around 7 PM and unpack. Loads more relaxing than doing all this in one day.

Wednesday, we head off for five days to Bar Harbor. Bringing kayaks, bikes and hiking boots. Too much? I'll use all of it, but I could leave the kayaks or bikes behind. Everyone want to do everything though....

I think I'll do some more painting today and transplant some more plants. Maybe relax a bit.

Bernie, I love the boating pictures. Bet you are glad you kept the boat, eh?

I gotta get started, have a great day all!

Lovin life,
Bob

Good Morning all
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the Dad's

I was totally lazy yesterday except I did fix a late breakfast/lunch.  Scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon, hashbrowns and fresh sliced tomatoes!  Yummy.  And I cleaned up the kitchen after!  Other than that I was reading.  Chris did the chores.  He's still on remarkable great behavior after our "Come to Jesus " talk.  He's known me long enough to understand that eventually I'll follow through with my threats!  He was around the last several years for the Cammie situations.

We had a storm in the night that woke me up.  I got a Weather Alert on my phone and I dropped my glasses on the floor which went under the bed when I reached for them to read the Alert.  I got up to search and decided it was time for a bathroom trip anyway.  It was only a FLOOD warning which is almost everyday now.  I was on the other side of the bed from where I sleep and in trying to maneuver my way in the dark, I caught my damaged knee on Pearl's kennel.  When I got to the bathroom I could see blood running down my leg so I had to rebandage.  I had no trouble going back to sleep and felt pretty good this morning.  Margarita was also awake and afraid of the storm she so accompanied me to the bathroom and hid between my legs which didn't make my task very easy.  She settled back into her bed as I did mine.

SoSo, good to "see" you here!  Pics of Zoey are requested.

Nothing on the agenda for today.  Sun will be out off and on.  Dinner will be either beef Stroganoff or Tuna steaks on the grill, depending on the weather at the time.  Chris has a list of chores to accomplish.  He always says "Just write it down!"  so I did!  About a half a page of chores, numbered in the order I want them done. Hee Heee!  I know, I'm a slave driver! LOL!

It's sunny now so I think I'll take a yard tour to see what bloomed out overnight and give THANKS to the Lord.

Enjoy your Sunday!

Good morning BCers!
Mostly cloudy with temps near 90.  Warming up...humidity is back.  T-storms possible today.
SJ and I went on a shopping spree yesterday.  Bought all the flowers, hanging baskets, veggie plants, and potting dirt.
Then hit all the meat sales.  The freezer was near empty.  Bought a big pork loin, marinated and threw it in the electric cooker overnight.  Put the whole deal on the patio table on the deck.  Otherwise, the house smells like a big fart all night.
Then in the evening SC and I took SJ out to dinner at his fav seafood restaurant.  Called Gators.
They were serving a mixed grilled seafood plate of Mahi Mahi, scallops, shrimp and lobster special for Father's Day.
SJ was a happy dad!    Today grilling steaks, corn on the cob and baked potatoes.

Good afternoon.  68 and mostly cloudy. Yesterday already feels like a blur.  Met with another contractor about my project.  He was extremely helpful and lives very close to my home.  A tad bit more per hour than the first one I met, but he impressed me by going above and beyond to ensure that there would not be any issues with a couple of the new light fixtures, I have in mind which are all special order. The one in the dining room will need to be rewired by the lighting store because of the 6'6" drop from ceiling to the top of the light fixture.  Church this morning and then I watered all the outdoor plants and the patches of new sod I put down.  The 80% chance of rain dropped to 20 today but it is a beautiful day for Fathers to enjoy their special day outdoors.

SoSo, glad you checked in.  You certainly have been busy.  I too would enjoy some Zoey pics.

PJ, what a lovely evening you all had.  Seafood sounds so delicious.

Holly, doesn't it feel great getting things done on the to do list.  Yesterday Mary Jo came over and helped me get the Colorado mesquite tree into the new planter and fill with rock that my neighbor Kristin was getting rid of.

JJ, I guess I missed your pics on FB but nice to hear you have a fun trip to FL.  Was it you that talked about liking Dahlias?  I've never bought them before and I love them.  The colors are amazing.

Cindy, poor Joey.  Hopefully the newest noodle necklace will work out better.  Can't wait till he is healed and back to being his fun loving self playing and running around with Sophie.

Badger, hope you are doing something fun today.  Perhaps some fishing.

Bernie, enjoyed the pics with you and the boys.  Glad to see you having some fun and smiling.

Did anyone see those pics of HMB on FB today?  Unbelievable amounts of sargasso.  Hola to all I've missed.  I am headed out the deck to enjoy this beautiful day, a cold beer and read the Sunday paper.  Enjoy your day Dads. MB

Begonias in entryway.

Higher bar stools with teal canvas aren't out.

Moss roses in the antique hanging metal planters.

Dahlias.

Mesquite tree.

Finally seeing new buds on the mandevillas and hanging ivy geraniums.  Can't wait for the new blooms to arrive.

Good Morning Big Farts, it's Moanday.

Internet was down yesterday, belated Happy Father's Day to the dads!

MB, lovely photos. No, I didn't have too much fun yesterday, had to work most of the day, still trying to catch up, but Babs did buy me lunch at our local Mexican restaurant.

Bernie, boating trip looks like lotsa fun!

Poor Joey looks so sad again.

Twirls, you really need to get nightlights in every area of your house, we got tired of tripping over doggies during the night and now have enough nightlights around so that no longer happens.

JJ, we need pix of Florida trip!

Cloudy and cool today, nice working weather.

Wag more....bark less.

Good Morning
Cloudy with a high of 71 today. Best of all, no rain in the forecast for a couple of days.
Yeah, Joey is not pleased with the necklace, but the two dogs just had a high old time playing in the back yard. Doggie breakfast is done, Sophie has "killed" the pull rope toy for the umpteenth time and all is quiet right now. For a couple of minutes anyway.

MB, it all looks so nice. Thanks for the pics.
That was a brief hiatus; dogs are back to wrestling.
Usual Monday laundry, then hope to get some more mowing done and weeds pulled.
Have a wonderful day all
Cindy

Your house, deck, and yard are just gorgeous MB. Wow!

Bobski - have a great trip. Sounds fun.

We are night light people too Twirley. Makes a big difference.

We had some crazy storms Sunday afternoon. Lots of people in the hood with trees and fences down and shingles off the roofs. Luckily , our end of the hood just got crazy rain and wind without all the damage. Storm season is supposed to be over.

Howdy and good morning everyone.

A great sunny day in store for the coast today. Current temp 74F at 6:58 with a high of 86 degrees. Starting tomorrow, highs will be in the 90's for the next 7 days. Wowza !

Yesterday was as planned : not much planned. Ha. I got laundry done. I invited Chet and Gary to join me for lunch at The Dawg House. The two boys were about worn out from their sun and fun on the beach yesterday. In fact, Gary canceled his drive back home for today and decided to take a day of rest today so he can travel tomorrow. Translation : detox and rest before hitting the road.

I got calls yesterday from Debby, Bob and Meredith. Caught up on what's been going on for all of them, which wasn't a whole lot. Isn't life just a hoot ?

Today I may just try for a beach walk; been slacking off on my exercise.

Hi Bob. The Boston trip sounds like it was packed with 'things to do'. Some of it was fun, right ?

Holly, hate to say it but you seem to be a "walking disaster" these days. You might think about having a little flash light with you while in the dark. Keep it where you can easily reach it on your night stand ??

PJ, sounds like a great Father's Day with hubby and daughter. Nice.

Thank you for the lovely pictures, MB. The outside of your home looks very nice.

Badger, I enjoyed getting out on the boat again plus I needed to have some company to make me laugh. When Chet and Gary start getting loose, they can be pretty funny. They grew up together out in the country near a small town called Kannapolis NC.

Cindy, what is the time frame for removal of the noodle ? Joey has those 'sad eyes' again.

  Hi Gem. Bye Gem.

Crunch, I bet that was the perfect gift from Isla and Tuco !

Being lazy this morning. Last cup of coffee poured.
Catch y'all later,
Bernie

Today is, surprise, more painting. Bedroom all torn apart. I don't mind painting, and I like the finished product, but I hate the disruption. I can't use the room as I have for the past 7 years, every thing is all discombobulated. I only have the walls left, trim and ceiling are done. 2 coats to do on the walls! Next up is the living/dining/kitchen area. Just looking forward to that....

I moved all the rest of my hostas last night. They look like they'll shield the generator from view where I put them, a little anyways. They'll die back in fall and take a little to stand up again in spring. I still need to rehab the front yard some more and plant some grass. I'll get around to it.

I got an email about an AC check on my car. The AC seems a little weak, and everyone else's car AC seems so much stronger. So I scheduled and appointment for tomorrow. Just before our Acadia trip.

So much to do, and some life to live! Back to work!

Have a great day all!

Lovin life,
Bob
