Did not receive good news at the eye doctors.  Cataracts are forming.
Left eye is worse than the right eye.  New glasses ordered.
My view of the world is just going to get fuzzier

Oh Jamie. That is nuts. It has gotten so crazy. They are denying the meds to the wrong people.

CBD oil did not work for me.  Expensive and a waste of money.  Tramadol didn't help either

Good Morning Bunnies, it's Friday.

PJ, are you a candidate for cataract surgery? Thanks for letting us know about SJ and the baseball game, it was great being there with you!

Nice pix, Bernie, if I can find time I probably have a few more to post.

Geez, Frank, I feel bad for you.

Smooth travels, SoSo.

Crunch, when do you return?

Fun Boat Drinx last night, I might have a line on a "rescue" dog for C&C, hope to find out more today.

Wag more....bark less.

Good Morning
Rain in the forecast, T-storms tonight.
PJ, the good news is that it is fixable. Just have to wait until the cataract is "ripe". (it always bothered me that that was the word they used) The bad news is that until then driving at night is going to get trickier and trickier. That was the part I hated the most; oncoming traffic would have huge rainbow auras around them, road signs glowed and looked like huge shields encroaching on the roadway. And SC's new little lop eared bunny is adorable. Beware, though. Cudi and Elphie might think he looks like dinner.

Slept fairly well last night, but still feel a lot of pressure in my face from this cold. Will have to remember to put an extra box of tissue in the car, going through them at an astounding rate.

This morning I will be putting together an overnight breakfast dish that Pablo turned me on to. Blueberry French toast. Yum. Kids are all coming this evening for burgers and brats, just have to put together some coleslaw and potato salad for that. Will leave around 12:30 to head to airport to pick up Heidi and Patrick.

Crunch, totally agree with you. They ought to be going after big pharma instead of the people who actually need the stuff and use it responsibly. The highway robbery going on with the price of insulin for diabetics also makes me crazy. People rationing it and dying because they can't afford it...I think charging the pharmaceuticals with murder is not out of line.

Well, I have work to do. Hope you all have a beautiful day.
Cindy

Happy Friday

PJ...Joe had cataract surgery in both eyes and was amazed at his improved vision. He had to start using readers though.

Jamie/Frank...Neither CBD or tramadol worked for my Mom either.

SoSo...Si...Chief is my only horse. He has had hoof issues for many years. He is still gimpy but getting around.

Cindy...Hope you feel better soon.

Hot and humid here.

Have a great day everyone!

Howdy and good morning all.

It's a bright sunny day along the coast this AM. Our current temp is 70F at 7:32. High today 84 degrees.
Tomorrow it might top 90. Whew. Already and May not over yet.

Yesterday's doctor appointment had a long one hour wait. Once I got to see the doc he had to do a few simple motor skill tests for the right shoulder. He had already reviewed the results of my MRI and stated there was no surgery needed for my shoulder. Said it would heal in time; just to be very careful not to lift anything heavy. No physical therapy recommended. I think he was disappointed that he couldn't preform any surgery. Well 'la-de-da'

By the time I left doctor's office and finished my eggs at Nell's, the wind had picked up considerably and black clouds were moving in, so I didn't do my walk by the ocean. Instead I decided to walk around the neighborhood a little after 6 PM. Very pleasant outside at that time and storms had moved out of the area.
Spotted Doug outside with his two dogs on the edge of the woods. They were running without a leash and were happy to be outside and free for a while. I asked how things were going and he replied that it didn't look good to be able to return to work. He has been advised to start disability paperwork. He was feeling pretty bummed that disability payments would not support his family and he really was hoping to go back to work and use his RN skills. Unfortunately the injury to his back will not permit him to work any longer and potential employees don't want the possibility of additional injuries while on the job. I told him to call me if I could help with anything around his house.

Today I will get the boat out of the storage lot and trailer over to the guy that will begin his detail job. His house is maybe 3 miles away and a straight easy shot.  Wind will be high again on the beach so no walk. I will probably will stop by Lowe's Home Improvement and look at some new lawn fertilizers. My old Scott's spreader is rusted out and Scott's no longer makes an all metal one; only plastic ones. They look "cheaply"
made from the pictures but I want to see one at the store before I buy it.  That's about it for today.

PJ, bummer on Cataract news but the surgery is usually not complicated at all. The follow up eye drops are a pain for a couple of weeks. You have good insurance to cover it ?  You look too young to have Medicare coverage yet.  What the heck is SC going to do with a bunny ? Can't play 'fetch' with one. hee,hee

Cindy, enjoy the time with you family tonight. Burgers and brats sound yummy.

Hi Badger and Hi BB !

Coffee done and need to get ready for the day. PoMo pics are done so I will now start on the ABR ones.

Ya'll have a good day,
Bernie

Buenas dias!

Still trying to play catch up on the work front, SoSo. Working for yourself, it seems to be feast or famine, and Badger can attest to that. I've had to turn down jobs lately.

Good to hear you're feeling better, Cindy. Knock wood, I've not had a cold in quite a while. When Sweetie catches one, it usually goes from her head to throat to chest, and occasionally ends up with bronchitis.
Agree on the ridiculous cost of life saving meds and the cost of health care in this country. Saw a report on TV last night, where a 10 year old was bitten by a copperhead. The helicopter medvac, antivenom and 24 hours in the hospital was something like $160,000. And it took months for her parents fighting with their insurance to get it paid.
Jamie and Frank are perfect examples of how inadequate and skewed the system is, although I thank God every day, and the team at UVM in Burlington, for saving Oriana's life. I've never seen the bills, but they are probably shocking$$!
I know we don't talk politics here, but maybe we need to "feel the Bern in 2020"?

Sorry about your diagnosis of cataracts, Pam. Surgery for that is very common, as others have said, so not to worry. Juniper is cute, as are all little baby critters....even baby pachyderms! Was great to see you again, and to meet your DH.

Sweetie's knee is still bothering her a lot, MB, so she went to Urgent Care after work yesterday. Told her to stop using Neosporin, and apply Basitracin or Vaseline to let it heal from the inside out. No infection, so that's good. You have a beautiful yard. I hate mowing and trimming, so....no thanks.

Pictures from the Coz Crew are great! If the Sargasso problem persists, I'm thinking our base of operations should be moved for 2020. For the sake of the locals and tourism, I'm hoping the "booms" and the Navy can get a handle on it.

How frustrating for you and Tim, Suzy! We feel for you, as last year it took us 30+ hours to get home.

A belated "welcome home", Twirls. Sounds like a great reunion with your fur and feathered family.
We hardly ever discuss politics with our friends; can get uncomfortable in a hurry, but we generally agree on most issues....except my Commander and his spouse; staunch GOP supporters from Mass.

Good to see you again also, Bernie. I still am jealous of your beach strolls though. Lillie Mae in the water yet? Miss the AASB crew, but ABWR/Akumal have gotten sooo expensive....

Nipper, I can't see your pics for some reason; circle with a slash through it. Good job Ron, on the lion-fish spotting.

Hope Chief gets better, BB, so you can ride this summer.

Well, as rainy as it is, I must get started on my day, so HOLA to all I've missed, and tenga un buen dia!

Good morning
I finally got my car back yesterday.  Only about 1/2 the stuff I wanted done actually were done.  However it was about 1/2 the $$ I thought it would be.

Poor Ann was throwing up all night after dinner from nerves.  She was already on shaky ground before the ANGELA OUTBURST.   Ann pointed out that most of the outburst was aimed at me, which I had noticed.  I tested Angela and asked if it was safe to go back in the water.  Apparently she was mad because Ann and I were30 minutes late, which we had let them know.  It was because Ann was my ride to pick up my car which was supposed to be ready any moment.  It wasn't so we finally went on.  I let Angela know that I had already apologized and that it shouldn't have ruined everyone's evening!  No response after that.  I know it wasn't just because we were late.

I did get out yesterday.  Met Ann for lunch and we LOL about the Angela Rath.  I found 2 designer purses under $20 each.  SOLD.

Never have heard a word from Cammie and its past the due date she set for herself to repay the loan.  Going to pay her a visit at her shop and give her another chance before I start legal proceedings.  It was a loan to her business so I can at least get a Lien.  If she had just been a decent friend when I needed her the most, I might have forgiven the debt.  However she's gone the opposite route.
Stepson is next up for reminding him that he owes loan repayment also.  I've seen recent pictures he posts and noticed lots of new unnecessary additions to their home, like a pricey karaoke system with big speakers and lighting.  The requested loan was to pay up his back child support!    If people would just make an effort and stay in touch and not ignore the debt...   instead they act like I owe them simply because I have it.  My BIL is still mad because I didn't give him MORE.  I've given gifts is help to them all but a requested loan is a loan.  Money changes things.

Cindy, have you tried Zicam?  It works for me.  Sherry also used it and it shortened her cold.  It doesn't work for everyone, I hear.

Buenas Dias

Aww PJ sorry to hear about your eyes, welcome to the club.  Won't drive at night unless I absolutely have to, the glare is to much for me.

Thanks Badger, 3 more days left before we fly out, certainly has been a wonderful 22 weeks of living and traveling around MX this winter.

Crunch bet the snorkelling was fantastic yesterday, zero chop.

Jamie you would think your MD would be in control only, that's nuts.  Would understand if it was gun control that had so many hoops to jump through.

Hope your family doesn't catch your snotty nose Cindy, have fun, - that blueberry recipe sounds delicious. Can't wait for blueberry season.

BeBe glad you don't need surgery on that shoulder. Know how painful it can be, separated my shoulder decades ago skiing and it is still is bothersome.

Mapes glad you are on the feast side of work. Sorry to hear about sweeties knee still bothering her, dang eh.

Twirls how is your garden doing?

Nipper nice pic of Diver Ron and Natalie.

MB enjoyed a frozen strawberry pina fresca yesterday from QO.

JJ hope you are enjoying your beach time!

SNF tending to your Iris garden?

Hola Susy, your guy is pretty dang funny.

Make it a good day everyone else.
We are all set to plant when we get back, check out our square foots plots.

Maple, I'm glad I missed that cenote trip. My claustrophobia and fear of heights would have prevented me from that one!

I agree about THE BERN!  And political discussion.  I am pro choice.  I'm not a fan of abortion but realize that a choice should be up to the woman.  However I DO NOT believe that it should be a form of birth control.  Birth control should be available for women and men. Men should be more proactive in their participation but it's the woman who has to bear the burden for her own protection.

WHOOPPIEE!  My stepson just came by and paid his loan in full!  His new wife intercepted the message I sent as a reminder and she lit him afire apparently.  I'm grateful and very impressed by the both of them.  It's the first time he's repaid a loan to this family(that was) his dad and my mom had loaned him money in the past.

Good morning.  52 and fair skies.  Jerry got quite a bit done on the deck yesterday and got here about 30 minutes ago.  Hopes to finish today before the deluge of rain starts later this afternoon into the weekend. Worse case is that he finishes up on Monday. Mary Jo and Galen helped me move the old patio set, matching umbrella, base and Genesis Weber grill out to end of driveway.  My neighbor Ken took the grill for spare parts.  We both had the same model and by 9 p.m. the entire patio set was loaded up and gone.  I'm 99% sure the Honda is sold but not to the guy who test drove it.  Ken's friend Chuck, who I've known for years, had an accident over the winter in his Fiero and wants the Honda.  He is a cancer survivor of ten years and one heck of a nice guy.

Cindy, hope you feel better very soon and enjoy your visit with family.  Burgers, brats, slaw and potato salad sound yummy.  Good luck finding your new fur friend.

PJ, thanks for the PM pics.  Juniper is a cutey.  Does the bunny roam freely around the apartment?  Wish you well with the eyes.

MapleSyrup, dang on Sweetie's knee.  Figured it would be quite sometime before fully healed.  Oriana is such a pretty little girl.  Love the boots.

Bernie, nice of you to offer your services to Doug.  Good news on the shoulder.  As doctor recommended....no heavy lifting.

Jamie, PITA about the meds.  Sorry you have to go through extra hoops.

Holly, hard to believe you've had Pearl that long already.

UpHill, sure am enjoying all of your Coz pics.  Thanks for taking time to share.

Badger must be working triple time.  I just heard snow possibly north in Duluth.  Unbelievable.

Hola Frank, Susy, SNF, Bosco and all I've missed.

SoSo, enjoy your remaining stay.  Look forward to some of your pics.  Wonder how much little Zoey weighs now?

Tonight is the out door concert for Sammy Hagar at Mystic Lake Casino.  Should be interesting; no umbrellas allowed.  Will bring along a poncho.  Have a beautiful day everyone.  MB

Cindy,  Bummer on getting the cold.  Hope it goes away soon.
My night vision was never very good.  I use those night vision glasses over my regular glasses
to cut down the glare from other vehicles.  Keep a pair in each vehicle.  Try not to drive at night.
Will not drive at night if it is raining.  Have a wonderful time with your family this weekend.  Hugs

Bernie,  LOL on too young for Medicare.   I have it.  Sure glad you don't need surgery.  Take it easy!
Sorry, about your neighbor's back diagnosis.  Hope he gets the help he needs.

Maple,  After such a rough start in life.  So thankful little Ori is growing and doing well.  Your granddaughters are beautiful!
Hope Sandy's leg heals up soon.  Has to be painful to bend the knee or have any type of clothing touch that area. Ouchy!
Enjoyed your pictures.

Nipper,  Your husband looks so happy.  Must have been a great dive.

Jamie,  Shoot!  You didn't need that complication in your life.

MB, enjoy the concert.

Twirls, exactly why I never lend money.  I will give what I can afford in times of need.  But never lend.
One of my brothers never had a sense of financial responsibility.  Spent his whole paycheck with nothing left
for gas to get to work or lunches.   My mom would raid my little stash of money to give him.
Always promised he would pay it back.  Nada!  When he demanded my 1st tax return check.  Xit hit the fan!
Held my ground for the first time.  At 16 opened a checking account.  No more stash in my dresser drawer.
Next time mom tried to raid my money.  Only found some change and a checkbook.  Told me I should be ashamed.
I wasn't!    Still not!

I was put on Medicare when I filed for disability because of my neuropathy.  That was when I was 62, 66 coming on fast!  Apparently there are ways to get Medicare in advance of being 65.  After about 4 months I received a $16,000 check.  That was a welcome surprise!  Guess it was for S.S. owing for past months.  I did all the paperwork on my own, no lawyer who would have taken 30%.  Easy to do.  I guess a big part was the person working for S.S.  He walked me right through it.  2 doctor appointments were the worst.  Try to mess you up with trick questions.

Good Morning
Checking in before I check out!
I'm so excited, I woke up an hour before the alarm went off.

Calling for severe storms today and throughout the week with 4-5 inches of rain.  My forecast calls for sunny and 90's.
Life is good.

Twirls and Frank- Nice change to come into.  Feel free to donate to the JJ vacation fund.

Enjoy your week!

Good Morning Lionfish, it's Saturday.

Great pix , Mapes & Bernie!

PJ, I love the way you handled the money situation, when I was young I was always working and always had a little money and my rule became that I would lend money to someone once, if they came back for more without repaying the first loan, they were cut off.

Speaking of $$, Twirls, so glad that you got paid back, hope Cammie does the same!

Hoping for smooth flights for the travelers the next few days!

Babs and I just received our Global Entry cards, has anyone else used them?

Mapes, yes, right now I am turning down work for at least 2 months. Any suggestions on where we have a spring get together next year? If we can swing it, mid April would be better for Babs and I.

MB, are you getting all of this rain this weekend? Raining here now and supposed to continue thru Sunday.

JJ, hope you have a great time, don't forget to take some pix for us!

Later.
