MB, we had 4 alarms set and were meeting my brother to ferry us to the airport. If he didn't hear from us, he'd call us and wake us up!!!! We were awake before any alarms went off! LOL!!!

Bernie, love your shot of Twirley, living the life!

Cindy, love the Floral arrangement! Anyway you can set a camera over it and stream it like they do for eagle's nests and the like?

We arrived at the resort in Cozumel and by 1:30 or so, we were eating shrimp ceviche and grilled Mahi Mahi on the shore, while enjoying our virgin Mango Daquiris.
A little after 3 and our room is ready, so we headed to the room and unpacked in slow motion. We had been up for some 15 hours already. Then we went snorkeling and saw all of this in less than an hour.
We came back to the room, hit the shower and debated room service (Burger and fries) or the Mexican restaurant. We opted for the mexican restaurant and started with some coconut shrimp, then had the rib eye, mexican style, with some corn and potatoes. Let me tell you, they cook things different here and was delicious!
There is a beach party tonight, starting at 8:30, so I have been told. We didn't last long enough. Slept real good! And here I am preparing this post at 6 AM local time, wide awake and ready to roll!

Happy Mother's Day! Off to church!
Oh, and Chris labeled the trees choke cherry. They are actually service berry trees. Birds love the fruit.

Woke up to a gloomy sky and rain.  Just doesn't seem right.
Already missing this view while having my morning coffee.

Uphill,  excellent snorkeling.  Enjoy every moment!

Hi gang.  Lost my long post and bummed. Will try to do an abbreviated version.

Slept in this AM. Big old t-storm passing by. Temp now at 72F at 10:27. High today 80 degrees.

Cleaning gal worked for 3+ hours yesterday and she did a great job. I got a call from the lawn mower repair guy that my Snapper was ready for pick up. I drove to Calabash and the owner helped me load mower into my truck. Nice neighbor Bryan helped me unload.

Devin was supposed to cut my grass this morning. Too wet now. I'll call Doug and tell him that don't need Devin now that my mower is back into my garage.

  No plans for today.

Bob, glad you made it to Coz safely. Please enjoy your stay and thanks for the pictures.

Cindy, cute picture of the eggs in robin's nest. Thanks.

PJ, sorry to miss you two in PoMo. That was a nice shot of all those Frigate birds. I never saw so many of them grouped together.

nipper, nice picture of your group in Akumal. Cheers back at ya.

Good catch on the cat, Holly. Hope she has a long life after spaying and I believe you did a good thing.
Nice to yak with you last night. I think your thought process on no condo purchase is best for now.

  Hi Ed. Hi MB.

Crunch, finally your vacation starts. Hope you and Thomas have a wonderful time on Cozumel.

I will continue with a few more PoMo pictures. The series of food porn are from the beach crawl day when we all had lunch at Caribelos, a little taco place. Good food & cheap.

See y'all later,
Bernie

Buenos dias!

Caribelos Taco Shop, Bernie. If I remember correctly, it was $1.50/taco ($30 pesos).
Sweetie and I finally got some dry weather yesterday to tackle the yard work. Our postage stamp, 1/3 acre, only takes an hour with the self propelled, walk-behind. Reseeded an area where we pulled a juniper shrub last year near the deck and where the kids had an inflatable pool. Rain later today will give the seed a starter drink.

Enjoy your quiet time, Holly. Good catch on Miss Kitty...she's a beauty. Watched Caribbean Travel last night; some really inexpensive places to buy (and some $$$!), but almost every view of the beaches had sargasso. Probably a good decision to hold off on a purchase.

Bosco, Good to see you and Connie again. Regarding the sargasso; North of the piers and anchored pangas, the beach is flat enough to drive a tractor with the specially designed "scoop", and they clean up every morning. The day we went to My Paradise for Leo's birthday, Sweetie, Tim and I went for a swim. I did a little "skinny dip" and gave Sweetie and the lifeguard a moon shot as I dove into the surf.

Is there any green on your mesquite tree, MB? Funky looking irregardless.

Cindy, We had an hour delay in Minn/St.P for an ill passenger AFTER we had rolled out to the runway. Returned to the gate for a "second assessment". Almost immediately, we were back on the taxi-way and into the miserable rainy skies. We didn't arrive in Albany until 2:10AM, and spent another night at the Park-Sleep-Fly, then home and unpacked by noon Thursday. Our sour-cherry tree is just now starting to blossom and it's supposed to drop into the 30's (Mtn. snow!), so I have my fingers crossed the blossoms don't get nipped.

Looks like you had some great family time, Nipper. Sorry we missed the AASB group again.

Soon, JJ!

Quite the ambitious travel day, Bob! Thanks for the snorkel pics. Saw my first eagle ray this trip...no eels yet...

How's Boo, BB?

Well, off to look at a job 30 minutes south in Bennington.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone!

Buenas Tardes

You are very smart waiting Twirls, sargassium is here to stay I’m afraid.  You did the correct thing with the kitty, try not to worry.

MB very nice awning, do you hang plants or privacy fence of some kind from the chains? Does that mesquite tree bloom, looks like a Halloween tree -kinda spooky.  Sure happy to be back in the condo, definitely most happiest not doing an AI, however it was nice seeing some peeps we miss last year.

JJ not long now!

PJ glad you had a smooth boarding and immigration coming back.  Was great to meet SJ, and it looks like you could definitely return again si?

Bobski you’re spotting some good stuff, chillax.

Crunch great to see you arrived and are back in the swing of Coz again, ENJOY!

Was the worse sargassium dump I have ever seen Bosco, then the inside workers after their shift were ‘directed’ to go clean the beach.  Some other touristas joined in to help, great effort.

Badger hope you can take a break, how is Bab’s back doing?

BeBe Freddy cat is happy you are home, was lovely to see you.  I too have loads of photos which I will slowly unfold as the colder months approach us again.

C&C my candid shot of you two at the Derby gathering below.  That little nest looks unreal, that is very cool right on your porch, can’t wait to see those little ones.

Nipper sorry we missed you, but understand with your large family group.

BB how is your kitty of the month doing?  You look younger than the last time I met you, retirement looks good on ya!

Mapes it definitely was a better trip home for you this time.   Are you talking Albany NY?  Glad we had a chance to have a chat over a few beers after your snorkel.  Sweeties leg ok now?

Nothing much on the slate, pesto pasta and veggy salad made, other than we are trying to find a glass place.  Power went out, line guys were working further down the road cutting branches with pole cutters.  The securidad said a bird dropped something on the window – ha, enough to crack the windshield.  Kinda looks like they dropped the cutting pole on our window.... So another adventure into finding a repair business and get it completed within the week.

Zoey had her first vaccine and microchip with a clean bill of health, a road trip coming up. We decided to meet half way so we could do a quick turn around.  SOSO excited.

Happy Mothers Day – make it a gooder!   Dawn this morning below.

Love the agility in flight of the gulls

Loved this Bird of Paradise, seeding.

We enjoyed them.

Arrived and enjoying the Roo!

Today means a couple more snorkeling trips. We had a re-do of yesterday's lunch, just because it was so good! Grilled Mahi Mahi and shrimp ceviche. We saw a nice large barracuda today, sorry, no good pictures of him. But we did get some nice shots.

Afternoon all
Just woke up from a snooze on my patio bench.    I didn't sleep much last night because I was worrying about Miss Kitty.  S
Diane came and we took the trap and the crate she brought, into the bathroom to make the transfer of kitty, in case she got loose.  Transfer was accomplished and Leo carried the crate to a waiting vehicle.  She will be tested for feline leukaemia and then have shots and spay.  After that is healing, she will be returned here.  She cannot be domesticated.  Tonight and tomorrow night I'll try for kittens.  One is still under the Bush by the dive shop.  I'm pretty sure that I had her the night before but the young couple let her out so she may not go back in the trap.  Last night the manager spoke with them about what we were doing and they were not nice about it.  I'm hoping that I can draw him up the stairs by dribbling bits of food.  Adrian says he has seen him up here probably getting a bit of fresh water from the drain area for rinsing off the dive equipment.

Trying to decide what I want for dinner but I'm leaning towards more pasta...
Tomorrow is my last full day.  Valeria is going to try to meet me at a beach club.

I tried Don Ernestos at the Ojo De Agua hotel.  Food and service sucked.  It was good when I went before with Badger and Babs.

Good evening.  61 and sunny.  Such a beautiful spring day.  8:30 church service.  Had a bite and waited for it to warm up a bit.  Then out to tackle a few more hours of lawn work working around what is left of Alpine Currant hedge (darn bunnies) around deck removing leaves by hand.  Tedious but the beautiful weather made all the difference.  Long sleeves required as no more bruises or sharp branch cuts into my hands and arms.  Successful.

SoSo, great pic of Chris y Cindy.  Sorry to hear about the windshield.  Bet you can't wait to get home and meet Zoey.  Edit:  The awning serves the purpose of hiding a metal pole for hanging flower baskets and ambient lighting.

Holly, nice job on the mama cat. Best of luck with the kittens.

Bernie, some great pics you are posting.  Fun memories with a great group of people.

Don't be working too hard Badger.  Hope Babs is feeling better.

Kim, your happy place.  Hope your snorkeling is as good as what Bob has posted so far.

Bob, you are definitely a go getter.  Enjoying your snorkeling pics immensely.  As mentioned earlier, so cool to see multiple eagle rays.  I've not seen that before personally.

PJ, welcome home and Happy Mom's Day with your daughter!

MapleS, you are busy catching up as well.  Enjoyed meeting you and your Sweetie.

Make it a beautiful evening everyone.  MB

What a neat picture of C&C. Twirley you are the bomb. Super blissed out. Cannot believe after this amazingly difficult year I am getting this reward. As some have said I have lost some weight. Without trying lol. Being here now is just soul filling if you know what I mean. My love affair with Cozumel continues. Thanks to my amazing husband and all mis amigos. Also, my cow valve loved snorkeling lol!😁

Good Morning
Spent some time going back and catching up on the BC. It was truly a fun time in PoMo! (just wish I could remember who said what to produce the belly laughs that Chris and I are sporting in that picture!)
Spent some time working in the yard yesterday, until a brisk east wind kicked up. That wind off the lake chilled me to the bone, but I did manage to fill 2 big tubs with trimmings and weeds. Chris hauled it away to dump while I gathered my tools and put everything away. Back in the house then, and within an hour actually had to turn up the heat it got so cold. Today is supposed to be sunny and 60, so I am hoping to get lots accomplished. So far, nary a branch is moving, so fingers crossed it stays that way! Later this week there are actually some 70+ days in the forecast!
Also need to do some sprucing inside; on Friday Chris' sister St. Heidi and her husband arrive for a visit (and fresh asparagus). A quick visit, they return to Philly Sunday afternoon.

Eldest son stopped by with the perfect Mother's day gift: gift card to the garden center! Whoop, whoop. Keri was working, (she's a hairdresser and had an entire wedding party to do) so he had the dog children with him.  They do enjoy the room to run here.

SoSo, that's a beautiful picture, but that is not bird of paradise (Strelitzia). It is Helconia, otherwise know as "lobster claw". Helconias are native to the Caribbean, and also can be found on some pacific islands. And while Strelitzias can most likely do well in the Yucatan, they are native to South Africa.

Well, I must get going on the day, hope you all have a beautiful one!
Cindy

Howdy and good morning all.

Just a little cloudy along the coast today. It is already warm with 70F at 7:19 and the expected high should be 83 degrees. Weatherman says 'spot showers'. Darn that dog named Spot !

Didn't go anywhere yesterday due to the heavy rain but did get my bills organized in the order of payment due dates. So nice to have payments via on-line by the bank. How did we ever live with mailing out checks in the old days ?  Envelops, stamps and late fees due to delayed mail deliveries. Ugh.

Today I plan to do a beach walk after lunch. Time to get back into my daily exercise walks. Maybe cut the lawn this afternoon if the grass dries out.

Thank you Mapes for remembering Caribelos Taco Shop for me. Not a pretty place but darn good food. You must have done your swim after I left for ABR on the 4th, as I heard no talk about skinny dipping. hee, hee.

Happy snorkeling trips on Cozumel,  Crunch and Bob.

SoSo, bummer on the busted window on your rental car. I'm guessing you will have to visit Playa del Carmen area to find a glass shop. Hope they won't try to gouge you as a tourist.

Bummer Badger. Same happened to me yesterday only mine was "self-inflicted" by hitting control V rather that control C to copy. I didn't know how to get the post back. A pain in the arst.

Cindy, good to see a picture of you & Chris laughing. You two were not in a good mood after your arrival and check in at Hacienda Morelos. Sorry you got a bad room.

Time to get moving. Coffee done and I want to get on the beach after breakfast at Nell's. Pictures of the beach crawl in PoMo to follow.

See y'all,
Bernie

Good morning
My last full day here.  I thought about extending a day or 3 but the sargasso smell is getting to me.

Nothing in trap this morning but the food is gone.  It may not weigh enough to trip it.  I didn't hear any cats last night.

That is a very cute picture of C and C.

Yesterday was a busy family day at hotel.  I was craving quiet and pasta so back to Spaghettino for dinner.  It must be a great place for quiet because when I arrived there was only one other person there and he was doing what I intended to do.  He was reading and had a bottle of wine on his table.
I ordered the fondue and a glass of wine and settled in.  I know, fondue in Mexico and at an Italian restaurant!  Who knew?  It was delicious.  Next was the same dish I had the night before, fresh penne with tomato and basil.  It's such an enjoyable place with no street acts or loud music.

More later.
