Bernie - I am happy about the Cowboy win!

MB - I am still waiting for cardiology on the 16th and getting over "the crud".  Dad is living at Merrill Gardens in Seattle. He hates it.  Misses his, car, house, condo. He says the place is very nice and the food is good, but he hates contrived activities and all the other people are "102" and "totally out of it".  He has never been alone and has no idea what to do and no enjoyment.  Hates being old & cannot accept it in himself or tolerate it in others. The audiologist says his hearing  is to f'd up for hearing aids to help so he feels very isolated,  He is completely unhappy and I have no idea what to do for him.

I am so glad you are getting better MB!

Twirley - when are you sing the pain guy?

Frank - I have missed you.

Soso and Vandog are brats!

Just saw this on my FB page.  Cute video travel log of young couple visiting Puerto Morelos.

Much of what Badger has already mentioned is also shown in their videos.

MB, glad you are feeling a little better, take it easy, we want you back to full strength

Cindy take it easy with those decorations, thought you were giving up ladders? Can Chris help at all? Cherry pie does sound good, have a slice of cheesecake in my fridge.

PJ, glad you fridge has not "given up the ghost".

Badger, beans sound good, Jim used to make red beans and rice sometimes along with spicy sausage, was really good.

Had a lot of rain Saturday am, Sunday, and this morning. Woke me up last night, drip...drip...drip...
PCH Highway is closed in northern Malibu since yesterday with another mudslide, won't reopen until tomorrow morning sometime. Looked a real mess on the news.

Let us know how you get on, Twirls.

Great find on the video PJ! But now I'm getting worried that if they do indeed stay there all winter that too many people will "discover" PM.

Wag more....bark less.

Good Morning
Rained most of the day yesterday, but the wind finally died down in the evening. Little icicle lights on the upstairs rug porch were clicking together as the wind blew, took me a while to figure out what that noise was I kept hearing. Then downstairs I kept hearing a little chime. Figured that one out, too; have a small but heavy little hanging bell on the front porch, sort of like a wind chime but it is so heavy I've never heard it ring on its own. Made of iron, with a winged pig above the bell. So yesterday was a day when the pig really WAS flying.

Chris went to his infusion appt on his own yesterday, and then drove down to Milwaukee and put some time in at the law office. Was late coming home and not answering his phone and I was getting worried, but he finally called back when he stopped at a QuickTrip to buy some milk.  Today he will stay home, other than his infusion appt.

Worked on taking stuff off the tree, have all the snowflakes packed away and about half of the snowmen, will continue today if my aching back allows. First on the agenda is getting the Toyota in for maintenance. That light came on at the beginning of Chris' hospital stay, so glad Jake could fit us in this week.
MB, hope you're on the mend, and all others ailing.
have a wonderful day
Cindy

Good Morning Clubbers, it's Twosday.

Pj, I have spent the past 2 hours looking at other videos on that site and love them! Especially the two videos of Morelia, which is where we would like to go someday with the owner of our local Mexican restaurant, as Morelia is his hometown. Thank you, thank you. For those of you who haven't been to Pm yet, please check out PJ's youtube link above.

Bad news is now I'm running late.

Wag more....bark less.

I better not look at that link or I will be late!

Jamie - sorry to hear about the continued issues after the fire for the area.  Your Jim sounds like he was a good cook.  Hugs.

C&C - sounds like things are back in the flow other than pigs flying. We didn't decorate at all so got off easy.

Packing up and moving across campus to my new office.  Not fun.  A little smaller and no window, but hey, a guaranteed paycheck trumps all. Sort of a PITA dragging all my stuff across campus though.

Keep trying GBP!

Howdy and good morning all.

Partly cloudy this AM but more sun by this afternoon. Current temp 55F at 9:08 with a high of 67 degrees.

Slept in after watching the college National Championship last night. Was pulling for Clemson, as my Nephew & his wife both graduated there.

Yesterday I went to Nell's and added an order of corn beef hash to my eggs. I sinned but it sure was good.
After eating I went to the beach. It was windy but I walked for 15 minutes and got some pictures to cheer up MB a little.

Today I might get all of the Christmas decorations stored into the attic. Will see if Devin is available to climb up the ladder and I can hand the boxes up to him. Bryan is sick and not available. I should have purchased one of those pull-down folding ladders to make attic storage a little easier.

I had a nice post all ready to go and I did a 'control V' instead of a 'control C' to copy my post. I don't know how to get that post back.  Anyone know ?

Cindy, glad Chris is getting better.

PJ, thanks for the link but now all the hotels & restaurants will raise their pricing ! I watched those two travelers for 40 minutes.

  Happy office moving, Crunch. Ugh.

Badger, Morelia looks interesting and only a 3 hour drive or so from Mexico City. Let me know if you need a driver. hee, hee.

 Coffee done.
Will post a few pics from yesterday's beach walk.

Morning all
My massage yesterday almost killed me.  Partly my fault as I asked her to work on my butt muscles and with good pressure.  She got into some really tense spots and all of a sudden I was coming off the table with intense cramping and pain.  I told her she was going to HAVE TO DO SOMETHING to calm it down and my but was in a spasm.  I'm still not sure if it is better or worse now.  Cammie drove me and picked me up.  She said I looked worse. LOL.

Today Angela is picking me up at 11:45 so we can have lunch and then go to the nutritionist, which Angela insisted that I see.  Going to try to learn a good diet for adding weight and muscle mass.

PJ, thanks for the link.  Cute video and I'll have to look for the rest later.
Sherry aka Travel on has been looking at videos of PM on you tube.  I think I have them convinced to go in May.  They haven't been there for years and didn't like it before, but it's changed a lot for the better.
I'm really looking forward to this even if Badger has to carry me everywhere by piggyback.  He might care but I won't.

I have rooms booked at Hacienda but not flights.  I still haven't decided how many days I'm staying and I haven't seen great deals yet, but it's about time to start watching.  I'll check tonight.

It's going to be sunny today but only in the upper 50's.  I wish I had felt good enough to get the Camaro out for a drive yesterday.  It was stunning once the sun came out around noon.  I was in too much agony after that massage.  It was not my regular therapist since her studio is downstairs in her home.  I cannot climb stairs right now.  I tried and only could handle 4 stairs and gave up.

You all have a great day.

Good morning BCers!
Gloomy gray sky here.  High temps in mid 60s.  Very nice for January.
Giving that wood stove a break again today.  It will be back in play this evening.
Temps to fall back into the 30s and 40s by tomorrow.
Buyers of condo have decided they would like to close early.  Fine by me.
Waiting for call from lawyer's office with appt. time.

Badger,  found myself spending a bunch of time yesterday looking at the videos of those two
young people traveling about Mexico.  Very interesting.

Bernie,  so sweet of you to take the beach pics for MB.
Hope you find help getting Christmas decor put away.

Cindy,  Glad Chris is getting around on his own.
My Christmas decor is all packed.  Just need to get it back under the staircase.
That is the hard part.  All that ducking just kills my back.   Hope your back feels better today.

MB and Twirls,  thinking of you both.  Hugs

Wishing everyone a wonderful day.   Gotta get presentable just in case I need to make a run
to Memphis today.

Good morning  31 and clear.  Temps will be dropping with wind gusts over 40 mph.  Probably had the best night's sleep last night since I got home.  I am encouraged as the cough is subsiding.

Bernie, how nice of you to take some pics for me.  Particularly like the first one with the light reflecting on the water and the wispy clouds.   Nice Devin will help out.

Cindy, thanks for the chuckle about the flying pig.  Guess those winds are headed this way.  Good luck on the Toyota.

Twirls, yikes on the massage.  I'm interested in what the nutritionist has to say.  Maybe you could share some pointers with me.  Glad Angela will be assisting.  How's Pearl's tummy?

PJ, so happy that you are getting relief from that ambulance ride.  S/B interesting to see my charges for this ordeal.  Your fridge sounds possessed.  Would be sweet if the new power cord was the solution.  Don't remember if I offered congrats or not on the sale of condo.

Jamie, stay safe.  Such a roller coaster of events over the past few months.  Your neighbor is a kind person.

Badger, just curious how this winter's  precip compares to last year.  Lots less  here in south metro.  Not complaining.

Hola, GBP's.

Crunchie, I never had to go through that with my Dad or Mom.  Must be heart breaking and very draining. I wish your Dad had a lady friend to occupy his time and get his thoughts back to living.  Will continue to send prayers for all.

I need to get some rest.  Make it a great day.  MB

Buenas Dias es Martes

The Brats have landed safe and tired - tis always a long day and so well worth it. Have a few months to get over it.  Never would have predicted a busy Chedraui on a Monday night.  Our luck was with us, just inside before the storm started, rain was deafening on the leaky roof, really had to keep my hands on the cart so not to fall.  Got back to our place and was greeted by Ernesto with hugs.  Unpacked everything, tipped a beer, shot of El Compadre and bed (for a few hours).

MB Spoke with Christie this morning she sends her love and healing wishes to you.  Hope you are feeling better this day.

PJ don't let any more cats outta the bag eh (we know what happened to AK)  ;)  Feel your excitement hon.

Chris you listen up to Nurse Cindy!  Fat lotta good that is gonna do, but worth a finger wag from soso.

Hi Susy, BB, SNF, BeBe, JJ, Nipper, Mapes, Trick, Bobski, ST Heidi, Jamie, Patty, GBP,

Badge and others hope that snow storm didn't happen.

Hola Frank

Good luck with the office move Crunch, sounds like you need a red ryder wagon ;)

Twirls it is a known fact chiropractors and MT can do more damage with your already injured back/butt what ever.  Stay away from any form of it and can almost guarantee you will be better off.  Glad you are on talking terms with Cammie.

Everyone else make it a good day.

Arrived and enjoying the Roo!

I agree with sweet Soso Twirley.  I would try the traditional route 1st. Did you get your MRI results? Have you seen a pain/back specialist?

Beutiful pics Soso and Bernie.  So enjoy those.

Temps near 70F.  Gorgeous day!  Washing bedding and throwing it on the

Really??? A down vote for this???

Seriously people. Are we in the 8th grade, building cliques and passively aggressively trying to ostracize other people? I know that the vast majority of us never even hit the thumbs up or down buttons. But apparently, more than a couple 8th graders seem to want to use them.

Yeah, I expect to get the thumbs down on this post....

Eh, I think it was some random lurking disgruntled chiropractor who did the thumbs down. Ignore it, SoSo. And thank you for supporting me in my mission to make Chris a healthier Grumpy Old Man. I do agree there are chiropractors out there that do more damage than good, but I do like my guy. It's all just gentle realigning my back, and I have to say, ALL of the physicians and NPs at our health care clinic approve of him.
G'night all.

Evening all
Crunch, yes I did get the MRI results.  My GP was reading it when I asked what it said and he replied "It says your back is a train wreck."  There's a problem with 2 thoracic vertebrae (which I couldn't decipher), 4 bulging discs in the lumbar and another at S1, which is as far as the MRI ran down.   The main pain is coming from the pinching of the sciatic nerve and a couple others are very narrowed.  Mostly due to degenerative disc disease.  Probably also years of over straining my back (landscaping and moving large rocks)  along with several years in my youth of rough play, waterski accidents, and being thrown from several horses (I don't try to ride anymore).  Basically abuse to my body.  PT will help in the long run but won't stop the pain soon.  My best bet now is trying steroid injections, which they will start Feb 5th.  I'll also be doing PT and some light chiropractic manipulation.  No bone cracking, but other forms.  This is a compilation of both the hospital spine guy and the pain management clinic.

I also saw a nutritionist today.  $160.00 to reiterate everything I already knew but a few key points were highlighted in my mind.  Having someone to cook for makes all the difference.  I made great meals for Jay almost every day so I ate better.  I don't usually cook a well balanced dinner very often for just me.  I've been trying to do it at least on Sunday so I can share with my neighbour and her family.  I did eat out often and a well balanced meal most of the time but now I'm pretty much home bound, I'm trying to cook more instead since I can't go out on my own yet because I can't wrangle my walker in and out of my car, YET.  Now that I'm a bit stronger, I am going to learn to do that myself THIS WEEK so I won't be dependent on others just to go out. BTW, I have gained about 7 lbs in a short time.  That's according to the last 3 Dr scales.  I was 87 lbs not long ago after the last respiratory infection.  My goal is 100+.  I was looking pretty good and muscle strong at 105- 110.
But genealogy precedent is I won't ever be 120 again.  When my hormones went away ,so did my curves, which is appropriate. LOL.

Chris is here, staying the night to see Pearl to her surgical procedure tomorrow.  He's as worried as a new father.

Jamie, have you decided about the spring trip.  Remember you can share my room or I'll get you a good deal on one next door or close.  I'm taking my walker if I have to.  I'm hoping not but it is handy to have a carrying pouch and a seat that rolls!  Do you have that kind?    I am so looking forward to this trip that I would have to be near death to miss it.  I do hope that's not the case, LOL.

I've been bad and drank iced tea this afternoon and evening so I'm wired up and its time for bed.  Chris has talked non-stop all evening.  He talks to Me, Pearl, the TV, the plants, etc, and LOUDLY because he can't hear.  I'm trying to tune him out which is why my post is long and nothing but drivel.
