Twirls, yes, we tried the other burger place last trip, it's called A La Burger, but it's typical Mexican mystery meat, no comparison to the ones at Burger Underground. Also, yes, My Little Italy is our favorite for pizza in the area, the owner is a very nice man.
Haven't tried the Chedraui ATM yet, as I know of one where the limit is 7,000.

Badger, sent you a PM.

WELL I went to see this Neuromuscular therapist this morning.  I thought he was a quack, quite frankly, but he does have a list of degrees behind his name.  It was some of the kookiest stuff I've ever heard of or seen.  For instance, he had my friend act as a surrogate by having her touch my shoulder while he poked me and tested her arm strength.  He was READING ME thru her!!???!!  Then he applied different percussion and vibrating machines on my back.  However he did nail somethings on the head.  I didn't feel any different when I left and Angela and I LOL on the way home about it.  But about 2 hours later, I started snapping and popping and I did a few stretches and VOILA!  I am walking upright with very little pain!!  I was flabbergasted.  He said I'm sitting somewhere inappropriate for me.  Which is true since I moved into the solarium room.  I've been trying to find comfortable chairs, but it's not the chairs!   It's living with a coffee table!  I've always sat in upright chairs at a desk or table.  Not bending over to reach the coffee table!

Good evening.  24 and cloudy now.  Up early and ran a couple of errands. Back home and ironed the Christmas tablecloths and a few more things done.  Now on to the food items list for grocery store and Christmas cards.

Badger, eggs Benedict is my all time favorite.  You bad.  Keep this up and I may show up in May.  Those dental prices are amazing.

Crunchie, yeah figure out the dental prices here....outrageous.  Might be able to do deductions this year.....

Cindy love the nativity scenes and the true meaning of Christmas.  Still upset with myself each holiday season as I should have bought one in Bethlehem in olive wood.   One of my siblings has my Mother's, but can't remember which one has it.  On a mission.

Twirls, sounds like a strange visit today but then again when I had frozen shoulder they taught me breathing techniques and other mind things to elevate beyond the pain.  Licensed therapists, but I still practice some of their suggestions today and I was healed in 1/3 of the time without surgery.  Wish you well with recovery.

JJ, get shopping gal.  No more of that for me other than sponsoring families in need like Twirls.  Have fun online.

Bernie, here's hoping that your neighbor got a good bid on the tree and someone helped out with the lights and attic.  Get those decorations going......hee, hee.  I want pics and hope that storm doesn't get in your way.

SoSo, hope you had a nice visit with B&B.

Hi to all the rest of you I've missed.  Make it a beautiful evening.  Later, MB

Good Morning
Had fun with the kids yesterday, but forgot to take any pics. Hopefully DIL will send us some. Didi loved the tree with the "nomen" and in the kitchen was fascinated with the "aingies" (angels).
MB, the small set of the angel appearing to the shepherds is olivewood. When Chris' Dad was stationed in Germany (Stuttgart) in the 60s, he heard of a talented wood carver in the area. He specialized in religious themes and olivewood. Ordered that set from him at the beginning of his tour of duty there. Was finished just before the Army sent them back to the States. Each piece is very detailed, each shepherd has a different expression on his face. Chris remembers going to that shop with his father. Now definitely a family heirloom.

Holly, so glad to hear you got some relief! Hope it lasts!
Bernie, was just looking at the storm's path. Looks like your coastal area will be just rain, albeit COLD rain. But the way it sounds, they are literally shutting down Charlotte. No flights, no church, and store shelves empty.

Some drama here in Wisconsin. Lame duck statehouse is passing all kinds of bills to limit power of incoming Governor; national spotlight on it today as new Gov. will be a guest on Meet the Press this evening. Hoping this will encourage outgoing Walker to NOT sign these outrageous bills.
Everyone have a beautiful day!
Cindy

Good Morning!

I got zero shopping done yesterday.  Mr JJ and I managed to go out for breakfast at The Big Biscuit.  The first time I've ever had chicken and waffles.  Now I'm on a mission to find a place that is famous for their chicken and waffles.

I am looking for some lost cook books, so I headed downstairs and started going through boxes.  I made a huge dent in the "this goes in the garage sale pile"  Mr JJ will box all of that up and put it in the outbuilding so we can go through more boxes.  I'm bound and determined to get those boxes cleared out.  I still didn't find my cookbooks.

The little lhasa apso we are watching must feel at home here now.  He slept all night long.

Twirls.. What the.... That sounds bat sht crazy!  I am glad to hear you found relief and I hope it continues for you.

Sounds like the Carolina's is having some terrible weather.  As well as Atlanta with ice.  Hope everyone stays home.  There is no reason to be out in it.

Have a great Sunday.
May all of your favorite football teams win today.... except the Ravens. I hope they lose today.

When my nights start with margaritas, they end with happiness!

Buenas Dias Quacks, hoy es Domingo.

Yesterday, we met SoSo and VSD for birthday celebration dinner for VSD at El Campanario, food and company were great, but mosquitoes were horrible.

Chorizo and jalapenos for apps, the jalapenos were later stuffed with cheese, very good, but spicy hot

A huge T-bone done perfectly

Cindy has the story partly right.  The carving was made by a woodcarver in Oberammergau (the carver played the role of John in the passion play.)  It is carved from a piece of linden wood.  My dad waited 3 years for the carving to be completed.

Good morning BCers!
Cold rain pouring down.  We made the run to Memphis yesterday in this nasty weather with a Uhaul and
our truck.  The boyfriend's parents met us at the condo.  Helped us load up the Uhaul with SC's belongings.
(Boyfriend stayed in Nashville to pack up his apartment.)  When we finished.  SC took us all to lunch at
Central BBQ.  Yum!   We hit the road about 3:00 pm.   Getting to our house just after 5:00 pm.
The plan was to quickly unload some items.  Pick up a dresser and a desk.  Hit the road again for Nashville.
I could not do it!  Just worn out.  Left leg was swelling...back and shoulders screaming.  From tense driving.
Called a halt to the plan.  SJ and SC agreed.  SJ had enough of the Uhaul with loose steering.
His back was screaming as well.  We all fell into bed and have slept long and hard.  Feeling much better.
Soon as it gets light out, the rain stops and temps warm up.  We will head for Nashville.
After 5 years of our kids going together.  This was our first time to meet the BF's parents.
Very nice people.  So thankful that they were able to help us.

Cindy,  love your nativity scenes.  Very special!  Glad Didi and Seth liked your Nomen decorations.  Cute!
I thought you were very funny.  LOL

SoSo,  very funny!  Those morning shadows in Mexico do make a difference.
Did all my Christmas shopping online.  From the comfort of my home.  Makes
it so easy.  But I do envy you that view and beach chair.  Hugs
Belated Happy Birthday wishes to Sundog.

Twirls,  glad you are able to stand up straight again.

Badger,  thanks for the food porn.  Looks delicious!

Hi to MB, jj, Susy and Bernie.
Wishing everyone a beautiful day!

Thanks, PJ, It's a bit of a PITA to post photos from down here because of the slow upload time, but I know some people really enjoy them, ( I know I do when someone else posts them) so I will continue when I can.
Sounds like a long, hard day for you folks, glad the moving is almost done.

Twirls, that kinda makes sense to me about your back, I cannot bend over from the waist like that for very long before my back starts barking at me.

MB, you'd better come down next spring or else I might cry and that's not a pretty sight.

Yeah, Bernie, we need a weather report!

Howdy and good morning all.

Rain rain rain this AM and continuing into the evening. Cindy, I just looked at the radar and there is a giant "blob" of rain from Va. Beach all the way down the coast into Florida. Ugh. No local news on the TV right now but we can pick up WRAL in Raleigh. Looks like they have a few inches of snow on the streets. Charlotte is a royal mess. Glad it's not going to hit us here. Current temp 39F at 7:26 with a high of 53 degrees.

My helper guy Jamie didn't get here until 1 o'clock yesterday. I showed him the tree that Bryan wants cut; of course it was raining. Then Jamie looked at my chain saw. At first he couldn't find the oil hole that brings the bar oil to the chain. It was plugged up with dirt/sawdust. He cleaned it out with a small drill bit that I gave him and done & done. Such a simple repair when you know how to do it. Now I know. Afterwards, Jamie climbed up my 8' ladder into the attic above the garage, then handed down all my Christmas stuff that was stored there. I didn't want him to try to hang my lights in the rain.

Last night I went out to eat at Roberto's. They had a special on filet mignon steak, served with a salad and mashed potatoes. Man-o-man, it was one of the best ever.

Today I probably will hunker down and do some laundry. Not very exciting but I really don't need to go out in this weather.

Thanks for the info on Hacienda Morelos, Badger. I had sent them an email on their .com site and never got a reply. Has hoping they had a toll free number. Oh well, guess I'll have to spend the big bucks if I want to ask about where my room will be located. ha,ha. Say, I didn't thank you yesterday for your food porn and town square lights. Some how I didn't see them. Thank you again for all your pics. Glen doesn't look at day over 40, right ?  Happy Birthday Van Sun Dog !

Cool carvings, Chris and Cindy. Probably a 'one of a kind' set that would make a nice gift to pass along to the grand kids one day.

Hi jj. I tried looking for a case for my flip phone on ETSY. Nada, as most all are for smart phones or ones that are made of cloth to carry in your purse.  Hope you find the cook books. They are probably boxed up with some other stuff you packed last minute.

PJ, the never ending move ! hee, hee. You and SJ have certainly helped your Daughter a lot on this move.
The love we all share for our children, sore backs and all. Good luck on the last run.

Badger, I bet a dollar that MB will make it to PoMo. She doesn't want you to cry ! Right MB ?

Hi to everybody: Crunch, MB, Twirls and anyone I missed.
See y'all,
Bernie

Buenas Dias es Domingo

Looks like there is going to be a vendor fair out in front today the set up started early.

Was fabulous to see Pablo y Babs last night, great steak and peeps!  Bring your skeeter repellent if you check out El Comparanario, stopped counting at 20 bites this morning. The square was nicely lit, with a few vendors, my first sighting of Xmas here. Pablo this is the link to the parody VSD mentioned ( y tried to sing).  It was to the ‘sound of music’  And all of it is true... LOL

Relief was short lived.  I was almost pain free and upright for a few hours.  Sleep was not without pain.  Very difficult to get out of bed.

Scarlet busted for sleeping in the shoebox with one of her sisters.

All dressed up for a quick jog around the hood.  It's a sunny 27 degrees out but mom thinks I need a coat.  I think I'm about "paid up" for being rescued.  Mom apparently does not think so as she bought me another
coat earlier this week.  Jeez all my bros in the hood are going to be
laughing their butts off at me.

Good evening.  25 and sun is setting.  Was a welcome relief from the dreary gray days.  Early church service.  Pastor Chuck's bad cold has now morphed into bronchitis.  Beautiful Advent service with four anthems from the choir with flute, drums, double bass and violin.  Was a low-key day around here with a few more things done and email out to family about Christmas gathering and food items to bring.

JJ, glad the little doggie finally settled in. Good job making him comfortable.  All is good now.

No tears Badger....will see what I can do.  Would very much like to visit you again with your beautiful bride.  Thanks again for posting pics.  Enjoying your adventure.

Bernie, that was small badger at best.  I meant wager.  Glad the storm missed you and hope Deb is safe too.

Cindy, thanks for the earlier story and Chris your version.  Nonetheless, beautiful story and wood carvings.  Wish you could take additional pics of angel and shepherds for the detail.  The earlier photo was a tad blurry.

Twirls, maybe give the treatment a bit more time.  Hope you can figure things out shortly.  Hugs.

Frank, I wish Santa would visit here.  I think $2.44  was the lowest lately that I've seen around here.  Scarlet looks happy and warm.  Thanks for the update.  What is kitty's name?  Don't remember.

Happy belated Birthday Glen.  Other than mosquitoes, glad you enjoyed.  I've had some cheesecake south and it was fabulous.

Seriously "baby it's cold outside" is now nixed.....Enjoy the rest of your evening.  Sama, MB

Good morning BCers!
Sky has final cleared.  Had a enough of the drizzling rain and freezing fog.
Nothing but stars now.  Fell asleep about 7:30 last night.  So here I am in the middle of
the night wide awake.

C&C, the carved nativity is so beautiful.  Thanks for the closer look.

Bernie,  No kidding, how could our daughter have collected so much stuff in just a year!
That was a 3 part move.  All the time driving and working in drizzling rain and freezing fog.
Nasty weekend for a move.  SC has decided she needs to get rid of some stuff.  LOL
Snapped this pic of icy trees at the rest stop on I-40   Be glad you are getting just rain in N.C.

Good Morning
Been scratching my head trying to figure out what Chris used as a back drop to take those pics. Must have done it after I went up to get ready for bed. Will have to wait till he wakes up to answer my question. Then it occurred to me that he had moved the pieces and probably not put them back the same way. Had to go and put them back the way they were. OCD strikes again. Sorry I messed up on the story of the carvings.

Packer game didn't start out much fun, but it sure got better.  JJ, I bet that OT on the Chief's game was worthy of nail-biting.
PJ, Hope the roads were OK for all that driving. Freezing fog is pretty, but freezing rain is treacherous. Is the move all done now?
Bernie, glad the coast kept you warm enough to avoid the snow and ice.
Frank, thanks for the pics, and wow, that's a NICE price for gas. We haven't gone below $2.49 here, but we get a better price at Costco. Also drops about $.04 per if we go out of County. (only 3 miles away to County line) Pay more here because we are bundled in 5 county area that is taxed extra for Brewer's stadium and now probably new Buck's arena.

SoSo, that was hilarious! THANK YOU!
Badger, keep the pics coming. Do you have more dental appointments this trip?

Coffee cup is empty, so have a wonderful day!
Cindy

Buenas Dias Biscuits, hoy es Lunes.

Twirls, sent you a PM but not sure if it went thru, please let me know!

Crunch,  Tacosdotcom is open and thriving.

Cindy, yes, I have an appointment at 10 this morning and possibly one for Babs later this week.

Love the Scarlet pix Frank!

That's pretty PJ.

Babs and I spent a little time in La Colonia yesterday and then stopped at the Campo de Beisbol (sp) to watch a game, lotsa fun.

We then took a taxi to My Paradise hoping to bump into VSD and SoSo, but couldn't find them and MP was very crowded, so we walked over to Unico where we ran into some old friends and had a fun afternoon with them.

Later that evening, and I promised not to reveal where, some local friends shared two very interesting food items with us, I'm not exactly sure if they are even legal to eat here, but try to guess what they are.
