Howdy and good morning all.

Sun is a shining this AM but a little cool at 42 degrees. Weather will turn to partly sunny for the rest of the day and our high will only be 53F.

Yesterday's lunch with Bryan was nice. The meal was good & we talked up a storm. Hard to believe, right ?
The girls at The Dawg House all love Bryan and hug him when he arrives and leaves. He likes that !

After lunch I had to do a short stop at my bank and then return home to look up the phone number of a guy that cuts down trees for extra money. Bryan had asked if I knew someone that could cut a tree too close to his house. I called Jamie; he is the guy that cut 3 of my larger trees.  Jamie may have time this Saturday to look at the job to give Bryan a price.

Also chatted with Meredith about a possible trip next Summer to visit me. Frontier now had direct flights from Denver to Myrtle Beach for June/July/August. She said price was pretty good for a family of four and a direct flight would be better for travel with kids. Will see if that plan gels.

Today I will register my washer for both the extended warranty from Lowe's and the warranty by LG. Not a difficult task but for whatever reason I just haven't taken the time to do it. Now on my list.

PJ, very nice picture of President Bush & Barbara dancing in the heavenly stars. Thank you for posting it.

MB & Cindy, yes I believe I wore every one out on my story yesterday. Will try not to be so lengthy.

Holly, I think Cindy's suggestion was a good one. If you are smiling perhaps your posts will also smile. I hope all your current medical conditions get better.

Thank you for the pictures, Badger. It was fate for you & Babs to see your friend Willy. I would like to visit his place this May.

Hope Kay doesn't decide to kill the LG forums.

That's it for today. Y'all have a good one.
Bernie

Good morning BCers!
Blue sky day here.  Temps in 40s again.
I have nada and big plans to keep it that way.
Worked myself into the ground yesterday.  Taking a Chris Day Off.
Nap included.  LOL

Badger,  Food looks delicious!   Glad you found Roy.

Just look out the window.  A blimp just flew by over the river!  Tried to get a pic.  Went behind a tree.
Now is gone.   Blimp is the tiny white blob in center of pic.  Use to see them all the time in Florida.
Not here in the boonies.

Where is everyone?

Glad you found Roy B&B! Love the bag of juice.

Dad was taking my calls again yesterday

Twirley - the holidays and then the health stuff.  No wonder your emotions may be running a little high and or low.

That is a group MB!  Should be fun.

Nice that you will have Chris home for the day Cindy and can get your "honey do" list started.

That was quite a day Bernie.  I sure couldn't stand shopping that long.  You are patient!

Love what you are doing with little doggie Bob.  Long may she rule!

So happy that both Badger and Babs as well as SoSo and Sundog are enjoying PoMo, sure do love the picture of tacos al pastor.

Holly maybe you are stressing about all those presents arriving on time. Hope you get your MRI scheduled soon.

Bernie, glad you had a nice lunch with Brian, did Nell's not reopen? Have not seen you mention it lately.
Shopping with Andrea sounds tiring, but it's been a long time (like years) since I last set foot inside a mall.

MB, sounds like you will have your hands full getting busy for a full house for Christmas at your place but sure your hard work will pay off and everyone will have a wonderful time.

All the tree pictures are so beautiful.

No rain so far today where I live but raining elsewhere and tomorrow is supposed to be much more stormy. Fed Ex just delivered my space heater, have to get my neighbor to unpack it for me, new velour warmup suit due tomorrow. Also ordered new Henckel kitchen shears, my old pair that I have had for years are getting a little blunt, onsale at Penney's, just shipped today. Now that I am finished shopping for myself, just have a couple of gift cards to buy for sister and nephew. Time to order groceries online, must remember to get peppermint bark, love the stuff.

Saw the last hour or so of President Bush's funeral today (tuned in when 43 was giving the eulogy and thought, must be close to the end - wrongo). It was moving but about 3 ministers or more too many.

crunch, do you think your dad is trying to "test" people like you, his late wife's friends, etc. to see how much they will put up with? Hope not.

Good evening.  25 and light snow shower.  I planned to do X,Y y Z, but did A, B y C instead.  My house is totally vaulted and have open space above cupboards.  Realized today that I had not cleaned the tops of cupboards and all the wicker baskets and other items for quite some time.  So, got to it which took a few hours and then cleaned four blinds in the kitchen and re-cleaned the entry, kitchen, DR and hallway light fixtures.  Then cleaned all the floors in the home with Dyson.  Sure was a blessing for vacuuming up the dust and dust collectors on kitchen cupboard ledge and oak ledge separating the DR and entry from kitchen.  Long story short....got it done.  I finished about 3 p.m. and decided that was it for me.

Jamie and Crunchie, yes I am looking forward to having my family here and gets me motivated to do the deeper cleaning that needs to be done.  Be careful with that space heater and enjoy that velour outfit.  Maybe pin it up before it is altered Jamie.  Kim, glad Dad picked up the phone.

Holly, hang in there. Will talk soon.

Badger, those tacos al pastor tacos looked amazing not to mention the price.

Bernie, you crack me up about Bryan and your conversations.  Special relationship.

Cindy, the service today was amazing for 41.  How exhausting for the Bush family.  Can't imagine.  Thinking Chris lent a hand today in between naps.

WaterBaby.....thanks for the beautiful video with great music.  Loved starting my day with it.

PJ, some days are meant to do nada.  Hope you enjoyed the day off girl.  Good grab on the blimp.

Hola to all I've missed.  Have a beautiful evening all.  MB

Alive but not well.
Labs yesterday and Rheumatologist today.  He knew immediately that I have an "infection".  Already heading into pneumonia stage.  Chest xray,  Z Pac and other Rx.   I felt so bad I burst into tears.  LOL. He urged me to go back to Mexico where it's warm and I feel better.  If it is possible, I would.  Meanwhile he's doing whatever he can to help.
Back and butt pain is excruciating.  He's sending me to a pain management clinic where I might get faster results with steroid injections and or MRI.  He cannot step in on the previously requested MRI as it would be a duplication.

I need sleep.

Good Morning
23F and temperatures falling. Single digits tonight. Badger and Babs, lucky you to be in Mx; even colder at your homestead, with snow. Wind will be picking up, too, so it will feel like below zero. Crunch, I'd love to have your 40s right about now.

Holly, so very sorry to hear you are worse. Hope the new Rx and all help you feel better. Hugs. (gentle hugs)
MB, yes, it was a nice tribute for a man that was truly a GENTLE man.

One of the tasks I gave Chris yesterday was to work on a Christmas letter so I can get going on the cards. After about the 5th time he handed me a print out for proof reading, he said "I don't care if you read it tonight or wait till morning, but if it needs anymore editing, DON'T tell me till tomorrow. I just don't want to know right now!"

Think I am done with decorating, so Sat. morning we can get the tubs back into the attic and out of the upstairs hallway. seriously need to focus on gifts, cards, baking and candy-making. We are having Illinois Christmas on the 22nd at Mom's house, and then back home for Christmas here. Son #2 has used up most of his vacation days, so they are not traveling to South Dakota this year, so both my sons will be here for Christmas Eve at our house.

PJ, nice capture on the blimp! I haven't seen one randomly like that for quite a while, unless it was some sports event on TV. Used to see them once in a while when I was a kid going over the farm on the way to Chicago for a flyover at Wrigley or Soldier Field.

Every one have a wonderful day! Oh, and MB, relax a little. Don't stress over hosting, it will be fine.
Cindy

Buenas Dias Mis Amigos, hoy es Jueves.

Thanks for all of the comments on the photos, I will try to post a few each day. Weather has been great, windy the first 2 days, then calm the last 2, seems to be picking up again this morning. A brief shower one day and a sudden downpour last evening, otherwise very nice. Our fridge did get fixed.
Dentist only had time for my checkup and thorough teeth cleaning yesterday ($55 U.S.), Babs goes in at 10 this morning. We ventured out to Unico for Happy Hour, but no VSD or SoSo. I should've checked my email as VSD said SoSo was still not feeling well and had to cancel.
Susy, Babs said to tell you the fresh orange juice does indeed go very well with vodka!
Geez, Twirls, I hope you get relief soon, I like your doctor's prescription.

Forgot to post this photo of the entrance to Chedraui from the Hacienda Morelos side

My meal last night was fish in garlic & butter with guajillo peppers

Glad your rheumatologist is supportive Twirley.  Pneumonia is exhausting. I can see why you would cry.  48 hours should make a big difference.

Great you will have the full family for Xmas eve C&C.

So touching seeing the young GB eulogizing his dad.

Loooong talk again with dad yesterday.  Basically he realizes even with help things are not working well.  It takes so much energy for him to coordinate the help, get grocery cards for them to buy groceries, keep up with paying all the utilities and getting the garbage out and worrying about where/how he will get some of his meals when helpers not there.  Even standing for 6 minutes in the kitchen heating up a frozen dinner in the microwave hurts his knees too much.  Worried about light bulbs that will soon need changing etc.....I, of course, explained this is why people moved to assisted living. So they do not have to worry about all that stuff.  He is thinking long and hard about it he says. He is going to call Tom's mom for a peer to peer chat about it since she has made the transition.  I tried to relay the fact that the only one he has out there in podunkville is too small and he will not be happy there and needs to go to one in the big city with more activities, better food, etc,  However, with his bad hearing getting that kind of concept through is pretty impossible.  To be continued.........................

My cyst draining was successful, but so far the results are mixed.  Now having more pain when getting up from sitting and standing than before, but less pain with sitting.  Need to wait the whole 2 weeks to see how results really are.

Need more food porn Mexico amigos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning
I’m in a KS state licensing class this morning and I’m 30 minutes early. I wasn’t sure how to get here and it’s snowing and sleeting. So I scooted our early today.

Twirls I was worried that is what was going on with you. Hope you are feeling better this morning. Please push for your mri appointment. You have to be your own advocate.

Brat Badger. I’m a little jealous but that food looks amazing!

Jamie now you can stay warm

I need a really good neck massage. I think my husband stole my pillow

Have a great day kids!

When my nights start with margaritas, they end with happiness!

Good morning BCers!
Partly cloudy with temps in 40s again.
Didn't really take the day off yesterday.  As many of my online Christmas shopping
packages arrived.  Spent the afternoon wrapping packages.  Some ironing.  A little wash.
Took a nap.  All in all a very enjoyable day.  Was going to Memphis today.  Now have decided not to do that.
That drive is just going to make my left knee and ankles swell up.  Ankle is feeling tweeky this morning
anyway.  I'm going to take that as a warning and heed it.   It can just all wait until Saturday.
Still waiting on dryer repair.

Badger,  new Chedraui is going to be very convenient to Hacienda Morelos.  Nice!

Twirls,  So thankful you were able to get some help with that awful cold.   Feel better soon.  Hugs

Howdy and good morning everyone.

A beautiful sunny day this AM. Cool though. 33F at 8:03. High today an even 50 degrees.

Slept in today. Felt soooo good. Working on the 1st cup of joe.  Oops, gotta get the trash out...be right back.

Yesterday I got the warranty for the LG washer registered. Did it the old fashioned way by talking to a customer service rep on the phone.

Speaking of the phone,  I was on a mission to find a small cover for my cell phone. I lost my previous one somewhere Monday on the shopping trip. It's not needed 100% but keeping the phone protected is a good idea. Found one at Walmart but didn't like the 'fit' or style so came up empty handed. Also stopped by Office Max with no luck.  Looks like I'll have to find one on-line.

Today will be grocery shopping. That's about it.

Holly blimp, Batman.  How did you spot that blimp, PJ ? They don't make too much noise. Your pictures is proof that we will look at anything on the Morning BC. hee,hee

Crunch, I'm not actually that patient but Monday was a good exercise to develop better patience.

Hi Jamie. Funny you mentioned Nell's diner as I stopped there on Tuesday when I spotted several trucks and vans in the parking lot. The front door was wide open and I asked one of the painter guys when Nell's would open again. He said it wouldn't be too much longer. I could see that the entire ceiling was new and freshly painted. It also appeared the dinning tables had been replaced and the flooring was new. About that time Edda came out from the kitchen and said " well Hi Bernie, what can I do for you ? ". I asked when are you going to be back in business ?  Edda said all of the repairs and remodel should be done by next week. Super !  Hugs were exchanged and I was happy to hear the news. I miss the old greasy spoon and the friendly banter between the two sisters as they greeted customers or said their good-byes. Edda mentioned that her sister Linda will also return to Nell's.

MB, how are you going to feed that big family gathering ? I would order pizza for all or maybe a ton of Chinese take-out.  Ha,ha. I'm assuming folks will bring some covered dishes & help you in the kitchen.

Holly, hope you get better soon. Hugs and prayers sent your way.

Cindy, you are busy busy getting ready for Christmas. Hope you can take a 'time out' with Chris and maybe dine out at one of your favorite eating places.

Badger, that sounds like a very good use for the orange juice. Might have to try some of that during the PoMo gathering. I'm not sure if I told you that I did pay for my stay at Hacienda Morelos ??  I used a 3rd party booking but haven't heard anything from HM.  Could you get an email for me to have direct contact with the front desk ? No rush, obviously. Thanks. That entrance to the new Chedraui looks very nice. Aer those guajillo peppers real hot ?

Crunch, maybe some progress with your Dad....slowly. I can understand his resistance to living in a retirement facility. It was not too bad with my Mom when Debby & I sat down with Lillie Mae to discuss that subject. She knew it was time and didn't fight us at all. I hope your Dad will come around. It's tough to go through it. Hoping the best for you.

Hi jj. State license class ? I must have miss something. What ever it is, hope it goes well.

  Hello again, PJ.

Moving along and coffee time over.
See y'all later,
Bernie

Weekend at Bernie's

Bernie,  Spotted the blimp because I have a window above my computer desk.
Looked up and there it was.  Right above the road.  By the time I grabbed the camera and ran out
onto the deck the blimp had turned toward the river.  Landed down below tree line.  Sorry pic was so far away.

This is my surprise today:  A another great, great niece.
Born at 3:35am, weighing 7lbs 4.2oz, 19inches long.  Beautiful!

Morning all

After getting out yesterday, Dr and necessary errands (closing on the Eureka lot had to be done by email and FedEx), today my sciatica is much worse.  I cannot walk upright.  When I try the pain down my left leg and my foot is excruciating.   My leg won't support any weight.   Jaymie dug my walker out of the closet.  Even if I get past the respiratory problems, if I can't walk, then all my plans for this holiday season are shot.  I don't think I will even try to put up the small fake tree or get out and decor.   My chio won't touch me now.  I have no choices but to just lay here.  I've done ALL I CAN for an MRI.  If I end up as HELP I'VE FALLEN AND I CAN'T GET UP, I'll call 911.  This is extremely depressing.

Oh geez Twirley.  That is awful.  Maybe the ER will be the best place.  You have the regular kind of sciatica (the opposite of mine) and everyone I have talked to with your kind has been helped very much by a steroid shot in the butt.

Twirls, I feel just terrible about what you are going thru, wish there was some way I could help.

Couple of more photos

Before heading to the dentist this morning we dropped off laundry and then stopped for breakfast at John Gray's, which included this tiny mug of yogurt and granola

Babs had a muffin with egg and avocado

And I had this delicious serving of baked huevos rancheros, so large I could barely finish it

A quick question for Badger!  If you are going to be stopping by Hacienda Morelos while you are there, could you find out if there is a direct way to contact them regarding the location of our room?  Thank you so much!!!

Loving the yummy food pictures!!!

AWWW PJ.. adorable baby! and I love the name!

Bernie... I have my MO real estate license,  I need the KS real estate license for my job.  I was hoping I could get the test over with tomorrow, but they are booked up so will take it on Monday. You are allowed 4 hours to take it.  I hope it doesn't take me that long.....

Dang Twirls.. that is crazy about your MRI.  and ditto to what Crunch said about the shot.  I know several people that had excruciating pain and then got a shot... WaLaa- pain was gone.

That baked huevos rancheros looks fabulous!
Weekend is almost here!

Good evening.  16 and clear skies and a low of 2.  Dialed it back a bit today was slow paced with more done.

PJ, congratulations with Callie Grace's arrival.  She is beautiful as is her name.

Twirls, feel badly about your newest diagnosis and sciatica issue.  You really could use a live-in helper to make your life much more comfortable.  Ya thing?  Not getting down on you, but hard for me to wrap my head around how you can manage day-to-day activities let alone the fur friends.  Were you able to get the Christmas gifts to the distribution center for the kiddos?

Frank, nice of you to check in.  Hope life is treating you better with some pain relief.

Badger, baked huevos rancheros look fabulous and Bab's choice looks pretty darn good.  Granola y yogurt a bonus.   PoMo has really upped their game.  The entrance to Chedraui is beautiful, love the newly paved streets and new street lights as well.

Crunchie, fingers crossed on the latest procedure.  Perhaps your Dad is contemplating life's new reality. Prayers.
Been meaning to ask how the new doggie door is working out?

Cindy, thanks for sharing your lovely decorating.  How many bins of Christmas decor do you have?  Might explain some of Chris' grumbling.

Bernie, hee, hee and shame on you.....pizzas/Chinese takeout isn't looking so bad.  Either prime rib or a turkey on the Weber charcoal grill and half ham in oven.  Family will fill in the extras, but I will definitely do the scalloped pineapple dish, which was Pablito's favorite family dish.  Good luck on the new phone cover.

JJ,  insurance license?  A good neck massage sounds great.  I could use one too.

Gotta eat. Have a beautiful evening all. MB
