Here you go Twirls.  Might want to put your shades on!  Pretty bizarre.  Check out that floor.  What was she thinking?  Anyone wish to comment?  You won't hurt my feelings

I took these pics for my mom as she was the executor of the estate.  Our son Kevin was with us, he was 5 or 6 at the time.  When he walked into the bathroom he asked "what kind of drinking fountain is that?"

Happy Anniversary Babs and Badger!

MB - wow. Do you have a boat?

BB - have a wonderful visit with the folks.

Twirley - I am sorry about the pain.  I feel ya!

PJ - enjoy your visit with the kids and grandbirds.

C&C - have a great trip to DC.  I know some will be very solemn, but I hope there will be some fun too.

Frank - have you tried acupuncture?  Another path to try.

I saw the pain specialist again today.  I am doing a little better on the Gabapentin, but I am not on the whole dosage yet.  Hopefully when I am I will not need the 2 tylenol with codeine I am taking each day.

The doc took me in the procedure room and with ultrasound guidance gave me a couple injections into the pirisformis muscle.  Will take 2 weeks to know if it will work.  If not then onto the flouroscopy guided spinal injection.  My blood work was fine so no infection in the fluid in my spine that is not supposed to be there.

Pool time is very for us as rain all weekend and then too cold of temps for pool use.

Have a great weekend all.  Bernie - get your wifi fixed!

Crunch--Hope the Gabapentin works for you.  Not to discourage you, it did not help me even at very high dosages but I have talked to a lot of people who he has helped.  Hang in there.  They will figure it out.  Prayers being said for you.

Have not tried acupuncture yet but thinking about it.  You thinking about it if your other treatments don't work out? Kind of waiting until I get an answer on this numbness/tingling in my right hand pinkie and next finger over.  Having a nerve conduction study this coming Wednesday.  Seems like there are not enough hours in a day between seeing all of my doctors and taking Craig to physical therapy.

Happy Anniversary Badger and Babs, and many more

Wow, MB, that is some kind of rain you are getting up there in Minnesota.

Have a safe trip C&C.

PJ, we need another 'keet pic pretty please.

crunch, hope the meds start to help you, maybe it will take awhile for the results to appear. Wishing the best for you.

Twirley, hope they find out what is wrong with you soon, don't you have another Dr. appt next week?

Got my PC back up and running thanks to Daniel from the Best Buy Geek Squad, he unplugged the power cord for about 15 minutes which fixed the main problem, then gave my PC a tuneup and ran a virus check (very good results) and other stuff. Had a mani/pedi later in the afternoon, feeling good.

Hope Bernie gets his computer fixed soon also.

Good evening.  High today of 57 occurred early morning and temp continued to drop until the sun broke out late afternoon.  Currently 56 and a low of 43 expected.  Made a trip up to Home Depot for some light bulbs and cleaned off the deck debris and emptied flower pots.  Went downstairs to watch my soap on DVR and my big screen TV has no picture only audio.  Just when you think alright I have had enough....I got a summons for jury duty in late October.

Crunchie, not sure I understand all the medical technology associated with your tests but I feel terrible that you have to go through all this pain, etc. to get to the root cause and cure. Glad to hear no infection.  No boat here but I was shocked at the number of low profile vehicles that went through that high water and the possible damage done.

Ditto for you as well Frank.  Hope your next test results are better than anticipated and hope your honey is doing better. Sounds like you are in fast forward.  And those pics cracked me up not to mention the bathroom.  Back in the day it was probably a rather chic look but then again a little too much for me.  Thanks for bringing a smile to my face.

Cindy, I plan to do my yard walk about tomorrow and go on small branch patrol.  To soggy and cool today for me.  Have a safe trip to Arlington with your family.  Bittersweet memories.

Jamie, glad your PC is up and running again and bonus on the mani/pedi.  Have yourself a relaxing weekend.  I'm sure Bernie is bummed about no PC access.  Hopefully he will be up and running in the next couple days.

Holly, hope you had a better day today.

Badger, congratulations to you and Babs.  Wishing you many more anniversaries you youngsters.

Bernie, miss your daily posts.

PJ, happy that SC is coming for a visit with the birdies.  Should be a fun girl time.  Loved the chrome dinette sets.  My folks had a paler yellow 8 chair with rectangular table set.  Made me laugh.

Bob, you one busy guy.

BeachBilly, hope you are feeling better.  Enjoy your visit with family.

Have yourselves a beautiful evening.  MB

Evening all
Yes, my day was somewhat better.   Thanks.
Jamie, next is endoscopy and colonoscopy.  Dunno when exactly yet.

Crunch, my best to you..  Good luck with treatments.

Frank, I'd say a bit above the normal redecorating of that day.  She was pretty futuristic with painted lower cabinets and natural uppers!  Better than the gold and avocado of that time period.

A light rain off and on all day.  Very muggy daytime and feeling damp and cool now.

Good Morning
Frank, I wonder how many giraffes died for that flooring. The very first house we bought ($37,000!) back in the early 70s had carpet everywhere. Even in the kitchen.(so gross)  Every room was different, but equally ugly. LR was red, gold, and black shag. Met up with the kitchen, which was a block pattern with orange, brown and gold. 3 bedrooms, one lime green, one red, white and blue shag, and one cream with black, red and brown STRIPES. We were young and poor so could not afford to change anything. (BTW, all appliances in kitchen were avocado) After 2 years, Chris got a promotion and we had to move again. Amazingly, we sold that house rather quickly for $57,000!  A tidy profit for a young family starting out. Memories.

Got started on the packing. Got a call in the afternoon from our former neighbors, and they were free to meet up with us for dinner. Hadn't visited with them for a long time, so was great to catch up with them. (of course, we went to the Hitching Post )
Stayed and chatted far longer than we had planned.

Our flight tomorrow is an early one, 7:30 am. It's about 45 minutes to an hour to the airport, so we will have to be out the door around 5am. Have to make it to bed early tonight. Lots to do today!
Have a wonderful day, all!
Cindy

Morning all
Where is everyone?  Maybe the page hasn't flipped?

I slept almost 12 hours but woke up but woke from pain in the middle of the night and had to 're up on pain meds.  It's the routine these days, I'm afraid.

Not sure what's on my agenda today.  I planned to cook but I'm not hungry much.  Force feeding...
It's cool and rainy.  ITS FALL!  Suddenly overnight...  I kind of like it but I DON'T WANT SUMMER POOL TIME TO END!  WHAAAA....

Evening all
A full day of movie watching, making chili, tidying up and eating.  No pain meds but I felt as such all day.  Sore, stiff and sluggish.
Been trying to get the pilot lit on my gas fireplace but I think I remember that the remote has to be turned on to light it and the strange little battery is dead.  We've tried everything else and I seem to remember a trick from last year and it turned out to be the remote.  I was hoping to use it tonight and early tomorrow.  The low in the morning is 50.  I can sleep fine but I'll be cold in the morning.

Kinda watching Razorbacks game but switching to a movie as they are losing.  Definitely looking forward to the KC game tomorrow.

Crunch, who are you & Tomas cheering for today?

Thanks, BBilly!

Sure wish Uncle Bernie would check in.

And where is JJ?

C&C are probably on their way to the airport.

Good morning all.

Yesterday, I got a storage cabinet built in my screen room. Now all the planting pots and materials can be stored inside and out of sight while I also have a nice counter top on the south wall to start the plants. I put the first coat of poly on last night, will do another in a few minutes, then embark on a hike around Overset pond, come back and do a third coat. After that, I'll install the doors, which are getting poly out in the shop.

A nice day today, mid 60's comfy hiking weather. I've never hiked Overset pond, so I'm looking forward to this.

Some of you may know that I recently completed the 48 four thousand foot peaks in New Hampshire. I just checked and there are 67  four thousand foot peaks in New England. With all the other hiking I have done, I only need 7 peaks for those bragging rights! I haven't put any plans together yet, I've been visiting some of the smaller local mountains around here lately. But soon, I'll be back at it, until ski season, of course!

Sixth grade, I am shocked at who is in the sixth grade. My youngest grandson is at that level! My next is 9th grade! Wow!!!

I'll be getting a tour of our local schools Tuesday. I have been appointed to the school board, and in two of the buildings, I can not tell you where the gym is. I can find it, of course, but this is all part of the learning process. School board member is quite a bit of work and responsibility. I was a little surprised, but there are  a good number of members without children in the school. It is quite an eye opener. So much mandated by law, and our responsibility is to implement it. We can really only affect some things, like the sports offered, etc...

Hey, I gotta run, just checking in, have a great day!

Lovin life,
Bob

Hola

Happy Anniversary Badger and Babs.

Uphill... impressive!  I'm curious to hear how aggravated you get with some of the school rules.

Twirls... I hope they can figure out what's going on with you.  Tests tests and tests.  be ready to hurry up and wait. Remember, you have to be your own advocate, so don't let your doctor blow you off.

It's getting really cool at night time.  only in upper 70's to 80's during the day. Perfect attic fan weather.  Love sleeping with it on with a bunch of blankets. I'm a summer person, and in the past, I'd start getting sad when Fall hits.  I've decided to embrace Fall and all the pumpkin spice.  I figure that way, winter won't last as long. Spring, Summer, Fall is one long season.

Work is going great.  It's so nice to look forward to going to work when the alarm goes off.

Came home to this Friday night; Not my house, but 3 houses down from me. Water dept worked well into the night.  They were still there at 1:00 am. But we had water yesterday morning when I woke up.

That's all I got.
Go Chiefs!

When my nights start with margaritas, they end with happiness!

I've finally caught up on all the BC postings; when I started reading, I was a month behind! Don't know how I got so far behind other than life getting in the way. Some of you I've kept up with on FB, but it's not the same. Too easy to pop in there and not comment on the goings on with some of you.....I'm a FB Junkie...and a bit lazy after working all day. In the mornings, I just don't have the time.

This has been keeping me busy since April; an 8X14 storage closet is now a full bath...

Sorry to hear of your continued health issues Twirls, Crunch and Frank. Just shake my head that it's taking so long for you to get some kind of relief. Prayers and good Karma being sent out daily for you all. And to your dad, Crunch, and to Craig and BB, too. Way to get 'er done on the roof replacement, and congrats to your upcoming retirement, BB!

Frank, The kitchen would have looked a little better with the upper cupboards painted, too, but that floor? Just NO! Don't think I've ever seen jack-fruit or Osage oranges in the market here; now I'll be on the lookout. Always willing to try something new, especially food.

Good to hear you and Deb made it through unscathed, BeBe! My niece's landlord insisted she get out ahead of Florence, so she and her daughter went to a cousin's in Atlanta. Just got back yesterday, and as luck would have it, the windows held in her apartment and there was no damage.
Sorry about your ride. Any luck tracking down the Hit-n-Run culprit?

Congrats on the newest job, JJ.
A belated congrats to Mr & Mrs JJ, and the Badgers, on your anniversaries.

Fall is here; 44 this morning, with a predicted high of 66. Two weekends ago, while camped at Mt. Independence, it dropped to 40; it was a two blanket bed-roll that weekend! I'm sorry your pool season is coming to an end Twirls and Crunch. Summers are just too short, but I'll take the snow and cold over Bernie's hurricanes, the tornado warnings some of you deal with, the oppressive heat in FL/TX, or Jamie's wildfires.
From Mt Independence...

Sweetie next our our "shelter"

Dinner...

Not allowed to dig a conventional fire-pit as it's an archaeological site, so we have to use a steal plate. Don't know why as it still kills the grass underneath.

Kids are doing well, although struggling financially still. I was afraid that was going to be an issue when they bought the house, but they insisted they could swing it. Now they are having car issues and Wells Fargo just bumped the mortgage payment by $200 "to cover the escrow"(taxes and insurance). One income doesn't cut it, as many of you know, so she's looking for work. Going to go up for Kaia's 6th birthday in two weeks and do some more repairs to ready the place for Winter. They came for a visit yesterday....

Must get moving and start the day (2nd cup of joe), so I'm not going to attempt a SoSo post. Belated Birthday wishes to those I missed, safe travels to C&C, BB, and MB, and everyone have a bueno Sunday!

Good morning BCers!
Raining buckets here.  We need it!
Having a great time this weekend.  SC her BF and BFF were all here last night.
We had take out from the local Mexican restaurant.  Then played many games of
Rummy.  Lil doggie helped me win a few rounds.

Raining here too

Maple....No one or nothing eats osage oranges/hedge apples. I might see a few on the ground with one bite taken out of them. I've thought that God put them here for a reason but no one has figured it out yet. Other than decorations And I LOVE your new bathroom! Gorgeous.

JJ...Was that just a main break or did someone knock out a hydrant?

Safe travels C&C

Still have my cold. It can leave anytime.

JJ, I do not have public utilities, but I've had them before. Much prefer public, costs are spread out,a s is maintenance and response.
Concerning the school stuff, basically, learning the law governing things, I look at it as dems da rules. If I don't like them, I can go to Augusta and try to change them. Although, I was shocked at how valued education is in this state. Everyone of school age is required to an education provided for them. It doesn't mean they'll learn, (you can lead a horse to water), but we are required to teach them. We actually have some students who are so disruptive, they get tutored as a result, with 2 tutors for the teachers' safety. Years back, it was reform school....

Seems like the recent hurricane, while some people died, 40 something, I think, it wasn't near as bad as previous storms nor did it live up to the hype all over the news in these parts. I'm glad most are okay and there'll be some digging out of course, but really, I'm just glad it did not live up to projections. This time.

I just got back from Hiking Overset pond What a great day for a hike!

And the reward from the peak on the other side

On the way back, we met this old timer

It's a great day!

Lovin life,
Bob
