Twirley--Just read about the boating accident on Tablerock Lake.  So sad.  News up here say 11 died and numerous were injured or missing.  Must had been one heck of a storm.

Maple--Project looks nice.  Is that electric floor heat you are putting in?  That should keep those toes nice and toasty.

Jamie--I have the same problem with my neurologist.  Only sees patients on Thursdays.  He tells me he wants to see me in 6 months.  Go to the appointment desk and the gal says he booked 8 months out but they will put me on a waiting list.  I usually get a call about 6 months later.  I guess a lot of his patients pass away or go to another doctor.

Good Morning
We are finally getting a nice soaking rain. Still dark out, but it sounds like it is coming straight down. My rain gauge cracked and I keep forgetting to replace it. Can't go and get one today, at least until fedex shows up. Chris ordered tequila on line, and someone has to be here to sign for it. (got a message it will arrive today)

We changed our dinner plans last night because Chris remembered that the place we were going to go to doesn't take credit cards and he wants to rack up those miles. So we went to the tapas place. Sampled Korean tacos, coconut shrimp, scallops and octopus. Everything was superb. Finished with salted caramel crème brule. $$, but hey, 45 years is a milestone. And we racked up miles.

So sad about the sinking. Innocents out for an enjoyable excursion and then disaster.

Jamie, I certainly hope you can eventually find a doctor that sees patients on a regular basis. I guess we've gotten complacent, Wisconsin's health care is rated one of the best in the nation (not the cheapest though), and we have always been able to get in when we NEED to.

Are the doors looking better, MB?

Sir syrup, have fun! That's Lake Champlain, isn't it? Wasn't there an old horror movie with a monster in the lake? Be vewwy vewwy careful.
Have a wonderful day, all
Cindy

Howdy and good morning all.

Cloudy out and rain off and on all day. Radar looks like a child colored it red & yellow from Charleston up to Wilmington NC. Current temp 75F at 7:42 with a high of 80 degrees.

Yesterday I went to Walmart in search of a gag gift for Regina. Didn't find one so I drove two blocks away to Belk's (just like Kohl's) and purchased her a gift card. Cash : the gift that keeps on giving until it runs out. Hee,hee. After that I ate lunch at Nel's and finally got a few pictures. Linda was there and didn't want her picture taken "because her hair was a mess". I took one anyway from across the room when she was standing at the cash register.

Lonnie & Loranie moved yesterday plus Mike & Missy also moved. I helped Lonnie move a few smaller things into the back of his truck. He had hired a moving company to load 99% of their stuff.  Mike got a big u-haul and he already had plenty of help lined up.  Met the guy briefly that bought Lonnie's home. He will move in this weekend. Don't know who purchased Mike's place.

Today is a planned trip down to Debby's to load her new fully assembled grill into my truck. We will try to time the pick up from Lowe's between the bands of rain. Wish me luck; worse case I get a little wet.

I'll post my Nel's pictures shortly but need to scoot to get cleaned up and down to Debby's house.
Hello to everyone and catch ya later.

I slept late and missed the news.  Hoping the best for the missing folks on the capsized boat.  I hear there were lots of tornadoes in several areas.

An awful tragedy.  Here they were just enjoying a summer vacation.  You just never know.

When it is 89 degrees at 4 am you know you are in for a HOT one.

I think this weekend we will try to find one of those portable AC's and buy it just in case.  We can always return it if not needed.  I wonder if any will be available.........

Nell's looks like a neat low key funky kind of place Bernie.  No food porn?

So glad your mouth is feeling fine MB.  I thought it sounded very painful.

Good Afternoon Clubbers.

So sad about the loss of life on Table Rock lake.
Twirls, how is your tongue doing?

Happy Birthday and Anniversary to the C&Cs. Tonight I may hoist a drink in your honor.

Frank, no, we do NOT need a pic of Bernie wearing only a coonskin cap!

PJ, PoMo does have a machine for collecting the sargassum, but I don't think it can maneuver close to the lighthouse.

Mapes, nice job on the remodel!

MB, next time you need a job done you might want to call me.

I'm finally done with that out of town job, still getting over this cold, but doing better, hopefully a few drinks tonight will cure me.

Wag more....bark less.

Good afternoon.  73 and mostly cloudy.  Can't seem to get that duck boat tragedy out of my mind.  So incredibly heartbreaking.  Been a lazy day but enjoying my quiet time as it was a rather busy week around here.  Next Monday annual eye check up followed by post-op appointment with Endodontist on Tuesday.

Cindy, yummy food at the tapas place minus the octopus. Sounds like a tequila party tasting this evening.  There are still some unresolved issues with the doors which means a return trip for the stainer and mostly likely another visit with sales rep.  This project has already entailed 10 visits; I've about had it.

Crunchie, maybe not a bad idea to get your hands on an AC unit just in case.  That's quite the extensive heat wave your having.  How's the sciatic pain?  I was doing some research and they mentioned PT exercises to stretch out that long nerve.  Hope you're feeling better soon.

Twirls,  terrible storm damage in Missouri and Iowa got hit hard as well.  Glad you have that shelter should you need it.

Badger, welcome back.  Hoping you can get some rest this weekend or at the very least slow down a bit.

Bernie, Nels looks like a "hole in the wall" local place which typically have better than average food and great prices.  I was hoping for a food pic of the sausage gravy biscuit breakfast you enjoy.  Next time.

MapleSyrup, have a great time at America's Fort.  Kinda roughing it with the lean to thingy.  You are quite the handy man as well and so nice of you to help out the kids.  Lots of you talented get the job done kinda of men on this forum.  I'm jealous of all of your talents.

Jamie, doctoring can be a PITA.  Cost me $200 last doctor visit to be diagnosed with viral infection and "nothing we can do about it".  So basically a weight, height and BP check.  Didn't even follow-up with me on the items the nurse discussed with me beforehand.  Very disappointing.

Frank, how's that new tenant working out for you?  Are you contemplating a trip to Coz anytime soon?

Hola to all I've missed.  Happy Friday and have yourselves a beautiful evening.   MB

The octopus was very good. I don't know how they do it, but it is blackened but very tender and tasty. I do know that octopus is something that is difficult to get just right. Overcook, and it is rubbery and yucky. We've had it 3 times at this place, now, and each time has been excellent. Funny you should mention the tequila. (which did arrive safely this morning, but that is being saved for Labor day) Couple of days ago Chris purchased the George Clooney tequila "Casamigo". He hasn't tried it yet, and all they had was the Reposado. Last night, I spied the Anejo at the bar, so in between courses we shared a shot. We both agreed it was No Bueno. Burny and harsh. If the Anejo wasn't good, I have a feeling that Reposado will be used as a mixer for Chris' Palomas. Ah, well. Live and learn. (I still like George, just not his taste in Tequila.)

MB--New tenant is working out fine.  She has only called once since moving in so that is a good thing!  Thanks for asking.  Don't have any trips planned.  I was just commenting that the sargassum probably would not be too bad on the east side of the island due to ocean currents

Cindy, I've only had octopus that was rubbery in sopas and mixed ceviche. Yuck.  You made me laugh with the George Clooney comment.  Such a handsome guy so we'll forgive his tequila preference.

Frank, nice to hear things are working out with tenant and hopefully long term.  Take care.

MB - the sciatica sucks. I have a high pain tolerance but.....  trying not to whine.

Another day another dad crisis. Drivers license people not accepting doctors judgement so he is again in panic mode and making poor decisions even though I am trying really hard to give him support and guidance. Just heartbreaking. He said he wished he had died with mom but later said he brought he could be happy again. Oh vay.

Evening all
I've been very sleepy most all afternoon and evening.  I dozed off a couple times on the couch until Pearl barks in my face to see if I'm alive.  I tried to talk myself into going to dinner with friends who called but we all decided tomorrow was even better.

Crunch, I hate that you are suffering from sciatica.  It's a usual with me but not so bad with the new bed.  The adjustable situation does let me fall asleep on my back more often.  The mattress itself seems to be helping but it is too hard and I wake up with pressure point aches.  I know it's probably not your bed but it still hurts no matter what the cause.  So sorry.  Maybe a chio?  Mine helps.

Our weather forecast has changed for the better.  It's going to cool down some.  Only 92 tomorrow and a couple days of only 88 coming up.  Ahhh....

Holly's Pool Resort has another LG booking for late August!  I won't say who in case they prefer that.  But I'm excited and so pleased that they're coming.
Get your reservations in, folks.  The pool will be open until mid to late October.

I may postpone my CA trip until September due to heat both here and there.  Plus I'm a bit worn out.  My RV guests got the RV back today and it's now in the driveway.  They are staying a bit longer so their car can go in the shop before trading it in.  Since I have 2 cars...and I don't mind at all.  Seriously.  Susan has done all the laundry including mine.  She cleans every day and waits on everyone.  Plus when they travel in the new RV (they are trading for a bigger, better one), I will always be invited or I can fly and meet them somewhere.  We all get along very well.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.  I'm going to bed early.

Morning BCrs

Summer is busy here, lots of campers and boaters on the lake. Campfire ban is now in effect, currently lots of fires happening in the interior. We are loving the new digs, pools are just finished and filled, time for final inspection and the grand opening of the facilities in Aug. We don’t have landscaping yet as there are so many other projects happening. Orchards and gardens along with an irrigation system at two different sites are completed. We had two soil expert consultants take samples to recommend planting’s for the areas. Loving getting fresh eggs from up the road delivered to my door. Ramping up my physio for the broken ankle, getting more use now.

Hugs BB, thinking of you dear.

Anniversary day sounds special C&C. Love octopus, especially open fire grilled on a beach in Mexico... awwww that was a quick day dream. Glad you enjoyed your special meal.

Badger get healthy

PJ Aug 2 isn’t that many more sleeps 😘

BeBe Love writing on the walls at Nell’s place💜.
And what a good brother you are helping Deb with her BBQ, maybe prime rib steak tester to make sure it works? lol

Fresh local blueberries, raspberries and corn are happening, summer is fabulous here with all the little road side produce stands.

So tragic for that duck bus tour Twirls, horrible. Glad you had a nice visit with Sherry and Tom.

Mapes nice work buddy, they will be very happy.

MB have you chewed off anyone’s ear yet? To much for something that seemed like a rather simple construction job - I say hire Badger next time, he would make it right.

That portable AC unit sounds like a plan, hope you can find one Crunch. Glad your Dad is navigating with you guidance, such a difficult time full of ups and downs.

Nice to hear you are enjoying the new job JJ, always great to learn something new.

Jamie keep cool eh.

Hiya Bosco

Glad the tenant is working out Frank.

Everyone make it a good weekend.

Good Morning
Had a fun Boatdrinx session.
Rained about 4 different times yesterday, more today. No gully washers, but some nice steady straight down rain. Corn looks much happier, and tasseling has begun. And I don't need to drag the hose around today.

Have a few errands to do in town this morning. Chris still sleeping, so I don't know if he'll come along or not. He slipped up and left his phone at the law office yesterday. Had to borrow a phone from someone on the commuter bus so he could call me to see if we needed anything from the grocery store. Not worth it to drive all the way to downtown Milwaukee for a phone...and we still have a landline anyway.

SoSo, nice to hear from you. Don't be a stranger. At the party last weekend, my brother that lives in Michigan brought 2 quarts of fresh blueberries for each sibling. Yum.

Have a beautiful day
Cindy
