Bernie.
It's not an old school antenna.
I have one of these.

It works very well.. I get 15 or so channels.

When my nights start with margaritas, they end with happiness!

Morning all

No dashing into the shelter last night.  Oh SIR SYRUP...I didn't want to have to go outside to get to shelter, so I had Badger build one under the new part of the house.  I have a trap door in the floor of my walk in closet.  The shelter is concrete walls that also form a foundation for the hot tub which is in the room on the other side of the closet.  It's a pretty big shelter.  Just no head room for tall people.  You have to sit.  But better than going outside.
MB, good suggestions.  I have a porta potty which can double as a chair.  AND WINE WITH AN OPENER!
It calmed down early and I was in bed before 9.

I leave early Tuesday.  Meet Cat in Atlanta.  We should be joining Badger and Babs for a late lunch by 1- 1:30.

Pearl is WILD this morning.  She played with Jaymie's big dog yesterday and slept well.  She and Margarita somehow caught a squirrel a couple days ago.  Margarita probably caught it and killed it but Pearl got it and wouldn't give it up.  I had to plan a diversion to get it away from her.  Now she has discovered the game of chasing squirrels!

I'm feeling a bit better but very snotty.

Speaking of weather...it was above 80° on Thursday, 75° yesterday and tomorrow morning they predict SNOW.  Today has already hit the high temperature and dropping into the 30's by nightfall.  However supposed to warm again by next weekend.

Good morning.  27 and pelting snow.  Only about an inch over night as the storm track has slightly changed but not to the good.  Rather we are under a winter storm warning now that has been extended until 7 p.m. or later tomorrow.  Predicting about 10-16 for my county at this point.  Phoey and a choice few words that I will keep to my inner self.

Crunchie, good one on Sir Syrup you clever girl.

Bernie, great news on the microwave.  Yippee.  Sure would like some pics of Deb's place next time she visits.  Have fun at the beach today.  Would hop on a plane and join you two, but there is zero visibility at MSP.

Cindy, looks like we will both be housebound for a couple of days.  Chris does like to mess with you.  I do recall that corbeled arch at Becan.  Amazing architecture.

Bob, sure wish I could donate some of this white stuff to you!

Badger, stay where your at for as long as you can.  Already talking about another storm coming mid-week.

JJ, good luck at the humane society today with Mr. JJ.  Keep him on a short leash.

PJ, stay safe and you too Twirls.

Dang plow just did the first pass.  Will check back in later, MB.

Buenas Dias Weather Watchers, hoy es Sabado.

JJ, good luck finding a shelter dog, what a great thing to do!

Bernie, when do you leave?

Talked briefly with Twirls this morning, looking forward to seeing her and Cat, and maybe a mystery lurker will show up.

MB, hope the storm misses you, just checked in with our house sitter, wind gusts are approaching 50 mph and they are saying to expect up to 18"! Geez, I wish I was in Mexico....oh, wait, never mind.

Sir Syrup, when are you coming down?

Weather turned very windy here yesterday and the sargassum is really rolling in.
Babs had her final visit with the dentist this trip, but decided to get porcelain crowns after all, so the dentist says we need to come back as soon as possible. I think that qualifies as "doctor's orders", no?
BTW, he did indeed use a small hammer and a chisel to remove part of a tooth.
SNF, if you are serious about visiting him I can send you his email addy.

Hasta Luego.

Wag more....bark less.

Buenas tardes BCrs and Clurkers

Susy hope today your spirits are better, it so very tough.

JJ thanks for the info on the shower curtain, very nice turtle.

Jamie, great you are finished, sure took some time to finish.

MB thanks for posting the sunrise (pretty pls would you post today’s photo for Cindy). Believe it was the internet that was screwing with uploads, appreciate your help ❤

Thank you to all the other experts for the assistance -was internet probs.(should know better when down here)

PJ glad you have a planned get away w SC life sounds busy for you. That would be amazing to see all those dear, sounded like a perfect morn.

Sorry about your snow C&C, it always snows in Apr just to get your feathers up jeje

BeBe I did have a look at you photo hosting site and was redirected to another site, same as Badge. I'll go back to using FB to upload pic here for now. Yay only a fuse, now why did it blow!

Quite the speeding ticket fine Twirls! See you and Cat the following Sat at 3ish LBV or if this changes to Cueva let me know. You staying in HMB?

Where is BB, haven't seen a post from her lately.

Nice bird pic, got a chuckle out of Keavin's turkey call incident SNF.

Badge wish you two were coming down further... Yuck on that chisel Babs had to with stand hope she isn't too sore.

Mapes sounds like a cold fun weekend ahead, hope Sweetie is surviving tax season. (and all the others here in the accounting business). Will be gone by the time you arrive down here Mapes, sorry off to a few other places.

Cat looking forward to meeting you, when do you fly down?

Yesterday was a day of rest for me, iced the knee, read and gazed at the ocean. There was some good swells happening, fishing boats were almost disappearing between the waves.

Hi Nipper, soon!

Getting the kinks worked out with a new travel computer, picked up a Acer switch and so far I am impressed. I've had a hybrid before that didn't detach, this does. The keyboard rocks, back light. ... but some how I have a virus, the ‘amazonaws S3’ Now I’ve got some work to remove it. This back up iPad doesn’t work well with posting urls so thanks to MB for the assistance!

Make it a good weekend everyone.

Ugh. 30F right now with a mixture of rain/freezing rain/sleet. Tree limbs are all coated in ice. Trees have buds on them, more for the ice to stick to; hope not many break from the weight of the ice. Wind has calmed a tiny bit, gusts "only" to 40mph (down from 50)Supposed to switch over to snow by around 5pm. I do not think I have seen or heard a single vehicle drive by our house today other than the mailman. Not even a tractor. Occasional flashes of lightning. Really hope we do not lose power. This is just depressing. I. want. spring.

OH MY...SPECTACULAR PHOTO, Thanks to both Soso and MB.

SOSO, Cat arrives with me.  You'll meet her when we meet at LBV.  I'll let you know if we plan to arrive earlier.  I'm trying to persuade B and B to ride down with us for the day.  Maybe.  We were hoping to also meet SIR SYRUP and entourage, but they won't be there yet.

I have 2 New interior security cameras!  Plus 3 outside covering entrances so 5 in all.  The new ones cover my front kitchen and both entry doors.  The other shows my bedroom and bathroom doorways , Pearl's kennel and the area near where Margarita sleeps.  It doesn't show the bed at all.  I can even see who passes the entry if they are going through the hall.  Fantastic!
Darren installed them plus 3 door handles with locks and a TP dispenser and paper towel holder.  All in the laundry room and toilet closet within.  Yippee!  However Wife and kid came with.  Kid wanted to hot tub which was no big deal but also managed to throw Pearl's favorite ball over the 6' fence.  And he wasn't sure which fence.  It couldn't be found so they had to go get a new one.  Meanwhile, I'm trying to finish the laundry and start packing.  I've got a last minute load pending and started packing.  The meds are a PITA.  My Humira has to be refrigerated so the old LG cooler comes in quite handy.

Buenas Dias Mis Amigos, hoy es Domingo.

Awesome sunrise photo!

Twirls, glad your security system is installed.

Wind is still howling here and it feels like we could get some rain. Much more worried about the weather back home, weather guessers are saying things like "Storm of the Century", currently under a Winter Blizzard warning with winds gusting over 40 mph and over 20" of snow expected. I have to call our house sitter and talk him thru getting the emergency generator set up and some water saved in large containers just in case. Yikes!

Just talked to Babs, is 4 pm Ok to try for Boat Drinx?

Good Morning
We are not even going to try and make it to church today. Roads are ice covered. Surrounding farm fields are white, but it is ice, not snow. Still has not changed over to snow, maybe later today. Counties just north of us having blizzard conditions. Best to just hunker down and hope we don't lose power. (no back up generator here). Just now saw a plow go by, first vehicle I've seen on the road.
wishing you all better weather than this. Have a great day
Cindy
Just saw your edit, Paul. 4pm works for us.

Good morning BCers!
Skies are clearing.  We got a good soaking from the storms... but no real bad weather.
Tax season is over!  Thought I would get to sleep in.  Cat had other plans.
Wishing everyone a wonderful day!

Good morning.  I went out 3 times to shovel yesterday; roughly 10".  I finished round 3 about 4 pm and an hour later raised the garage door to see another 3-4".  I gave up at that point.  Texted Axel for his assistance.  He is stuck in Boston and is hoping to fly back to MSP on Monday.  My driveway may just have to wait until he returns. I'm guessing about 16" total here.  Will know more when I venture out after coffee.  The blizzard warning has expired and winds have backed off a bit. Snowing now and another 4-6" expected.  MSP is up and running again with one runway open.  Was closed for 9 hours yesterday and no road travel advised.  Most churches have cancelled services.  Silver lining....event happened on a weekend.

Cindy, it was a ghost town here too yesterday except for the dang plow.  The 2nd time he came through, I was just clearing the last of the snow by curb.  I gave him the stink eye as he filled up the end again for me.

Badger, good idea on taking precautions with your house sitter.  Hopefully, generator won't be needed.

Need another cup of coffee.  Make it a great day, MB  I definitely need a sunrise pic from SoSo.

OH MY.  I'm so sorry that you northerners are suffering. That's hideous weather.
Ours is bad enough.  Pearl is looking at the window like WT?!  It's snowing.  Nothing like up north but still don't want to see it.  Back into wind chill forecast.  Normal high is 67.  Today it might hit above freezing but won't feel like it.

I have the BUTTERFLIES, DARN IT!  I hate it.  I wake up with jitters.  I don't know why.  I've been doing this routine for 20 years.  Drives me nuts.  Worst scenario is I miss the early plane and have to leave later...  it's not horrible.  Part of it is the anxiety of a 3:30 am wake up.  My stomach is already in knots.

MB, I think you should take it easy and let this storm blow thru, then have your helper do the difficult shoveling!

Howdy and good morning all.

A cloudy day in the forecast along the coast. Current temp 69F at 10:00 with a high of 74 degrees.
Very sorry that all the Northern regions are have their Spring snow storms. Here I was cutting my grass yesterday and today Chris & Cindy/MB are shoveling snow. Ugh.

Took me a while to do the grass cutting job yesterday, as I had lowered the mower to remove most of the dead stuff. After filling my trash can with the first 4 big lawn bags I started dumping grass into the woods. That doesn't bother me, as Mother Nature will decompose that material. What bothers me is the chance of getting chigger bites !  Fortunately I still had some Avon skin-so-soft Bug Guard Plus; is has both deet and spf 30 sunscreen.  Not giving an Avon commercial here but it works pretty well for me.

After my lawn work Deb and I went to the beach for a few hours. Many more folks out enjoying their time as well. I did a shorter than normal walk and Debby got some sun. The wind cooperated so we had a nice time and were home by 4 o'clock. No pictures, though. Left the camera at home. We had a couple of cocktails on the screened porch and afterwards I grilled chicken for dinner. A nice day.

Not too much on my plate today. A trip to Lowe's Foods for some fresh hoagie style rolls that will be needed for tonight's grilling : Johnsonville Brats.

JJ, that's some high tech antenna ya got there ! Cool.

Badger, I don't leave until May 5th but I like to make my list early. This way I know in advance what item(s) I need to purchase for my trip. For example, I discovered that I needed another travel size of deodorant & tooth paste. The basic packing list doesn't change much at all; I only have to adjust shorts and t-shirts from a 7 day trip to a 10 day one. Oh, packing extra underwear not needed : only ONE clean pair for the return flight home. hee, hee.

MB, you know that you would have been welcome to come out here. Too late now as the storm already gottcha. Oops. I used to hate lifting that heavy wet snow back in Colorado. Thank you for posting SoSo's picture. Quite nice pic.

PJ, I know you are happy that your work is no longer needed for this tax season...now you can dream about next year's season. hee, hee. Bad joke.

Bernie avoiding you, Holly ! ha.  Deb fixed breakfast & I cleaned up the kitchen. Then noticed one of the kitchen can lights was burnt out ( no, we don't use the 'can' in the kitchen ) so got out the ladder and replaced the light. Then phone call from brother Bob. Whew. Time to get outta here.

See y'all later,
Bernie

Buenos....tardes! Where did the morning go?!
I'll second Badger's suggestion to wait for some help, MB. 16-20"?! That's just wrong!!
And Badger, you should extend and let that crap melt before you head home. Thanks for the food porn and ideas on places to check out while we are in PoMo. Hopefully we can find Roy while we are there....I'll bring him a Tecate; "gift from, Pablo."
We're getting sleet and freezing rain and it's supposed to go into tomorrow. Hopefully we don't lose power as we don't own a generator either. Like many of you, we are running 10 degrees below normal temps for this time of year.

That's Sergeant Syrup, to you, Private Crunch! I was "promoted" a few years ago, and depending on the event, get assigned to First Sergeant, which means I'm the safety officer for the regiment. This position requires some work in the mornings collecting "company returns" (head count of men at arms, officers, those not fit for duty, etc.) which have to be turned into the adjutant before we take the field. Not as much fun as I have to keep my eyes on everyone,..and don't get to shoot my gun.

We're still two weeks away, Twirls, and I'm already getting the "butterflies". We get a hotel room the night before that's close to the airport, has an early morning shuttle, and a long term parking area to leave the car...lessens some of the travel angst.
Looks like we'll just miss you this year...bummer! We don't hit PoMo until the 7th. Cheers to you and Cat that your well deserved get-away is memory filled! Are your cameras attached to your 'puter/phone? Handy to have while you're away, but then again, maybe you don't want to see what's going on... Sounds like Margarita and Pearl are in hunting-pack mode.

Sweetie put in 4 1/2 hours at the office yesterday, and she's there again today...she can't wait for the filing deadline! She said to the boss the other day, "don't you think you've taken on too many customers?" They have one of those long file boxes filled with unfinished tax returns that will all have extensions attached! Going to be a lot of unhappy people.

Yes, where is, BeBe? No, my sister isn't very tall, and I don't know how many "hands" Iben is, but yes, he may be on the smaller side for a Morgan.    edit: Ooops! There he is!

Have to go and get some gear packed for next weekend, so I'm outta here. Enjoy your afternoon/evening all!

I cannot keep up with all of you, but I will start by saying that I can hardly wait to see one of those beautiful sunrises that SoSo is seeing. Thanks for posting especially that last one MB.

SoSo, I am flying down with Holly and am looking forward to meeting you too.

Badger, what a pain to have to worry about issues at home, but at least you have someone who can probably deal with it.

C&C, our weather in KC does not compare with yours, but I think a lot of areas are having spring like conditions one day and something totally different the next. I am so ready for it to even out and get back to something normal.

PJ, it's not my cat that has other plans, but my beagle who will NOT stop jumping off and back on the bed, until I finally get up and let her out. LOL

MB, I too think you should just chill and wait until Axel returns. That is way too much snow for you to be moving around.

Twirls, I think our weather is pretty similar and we definitely have a wind chill because it is 32° but feels like 21°.

Just keep telling yourself that if I can wake up at 3:00am, you can wake up at 3:30.  LOL

Bernie, I am glad I do not have any grass to mow yet, even though it is turning green. We could seriously use some rain and more sun would be nice too.

maple, I do not remember what kind of reenactments you are involved with, but I have a friend who is with The Missouri Civil War Reenactors' Association. They have several yearly events not only in Missouri, but also several other states. I never went to watch a performance, but thought it looked like a cool thing to do especially if you could be riding a horse, like my friend did.

Anyway, I wish you and Sweetie were going to be there when Holly and I are, but maybe next time. I am taking a small laptop and plan on downloading the pics from my camera everyday, cause seriously I DO want to see what's going on. My camera has a 50 optical zoom, so I can get some pretty candid shots. LOL

I know I will enjoy myself, but I also know I will be singing "They Paved Paradise and Put up a Parking Lot" to myself, even more than I was back in the 90s.

Hola crunch, SnorkelNfools, uphillklimber, Jamie, jj, Bosco and everyone else out there. What's happened with BeachBilly?

Good afternoon.  I did venture out after coffee and had a snow removal plan in place.  Do one-third drive, sidewalk, rest and tackle the last two-thirds in two more phases.  Well, after one hour I did accomplish phase one.  Came in and said phooey on the heart attack snow.  Then niece, Christine, texted and asked if I needed help.  I said no and she called.  She was here shortly thereafter and between the two of us we got it done in less than an hour. Light snow is still falling but nothing is accumulating.  Perhaps some light shoveling in the morning before I meet a friend for lunch.

Twirls, I get the trip anxiety and think a lot of us experience it. Worried about oversleeping, checking, checking and rechecking.  Set those alarms tonight to make sure they are set right.  Peace of mind.  So excited for you.  Hugs.

Bernie, another nice day with Deb.  Grilled chicken.  Cannot wait to break out the grill.

Badger, hope all is well at the homestead and you had a rip roaring boat drinx.  Rainy in Akumal.  Your PoMo picks put a smile on my face.

Cat, we've never met but I am excited for you as well about your trip with Holly.  It will be great and look forward to your updates and pics as well.

Sargent, Sir Maple...enjoy that next regiment you are detailed to do.  Sounds too chilly for me.  Glad tax season is almost over for Sweetie.  Get those bags packed.

Speaking of taxes, PJ.  Glad you've come to a near end too.

Hola to everyone else I've missed.  Be well all, MB
