Good evening all.  Arrived at condo about 4 pm.  Lots of odd ball things happened along the way today...plane left late, but actually pushed the pedal to arrive earlier, got detained in terminal 4 (another story) and my shuttle driver finally left after 1.5 hrs.  Some nice national called him and the owner was back in 25 minutes to pick me up. Stopped at 7-11 and I hoofed down two Dos Equis on our way to Chedraui in PA.

Thief's are now breaking into the transport vehicles as they know folks shop with the driver and luggage unattended.  Hence, food shopping first on my list solo; back to van and then back to pick up beer.  Edgar had one more shuttle at 4 and that was screwed too.  I can't remember when I said Lo siento so much in a given day.

Deep, deep breathe.....I am safe here at condo and in process of making BLT having some cervezas, enjoying the tropical weather, and looking forward to a good nights sleep.  Be well, MB

Evening all
I just finished a late dinner of gourmet Mac and cheese and crab legs!  Both were yummy.  I was feeling good this afternoon so I cooked and cleaned.  Actually the opposite in timing.  I cleaned up some stuff first.
Crab meat was so tasty that I didn't have to use much butter for dipping.  Mac and cheese was yummy.  Made with Gruyere, goat cheese and sharp cheddar and a couple dollops of cream cheese.  Of course, 1/2 & 1/2 to thin it into creamy yummyness!

I started taking the nerve pain meds for fibromyalgia that my rheumatologist recommended.  I think it's helping.  We'll see.

MB, glad you are tucked in safely.  I understand things are changing rapidly and maybe downhill.  Please keep us updated.

Oh,I also made a double layer red velvet cake and I hear it calling my name.

Good Morning
Glad you arrived safely, MB. We do need to hear the terminal 4 story, though.
Holly, is it Lyrica? Be careful with it! Red Velvet cake always makes me think of the movie Steel Magnolias.

Have laundry to do today. Also going to begin putting away some of the heavier winter clothes like turtlenecks and other heavy sweaters. Even though we have snow forecast for the weekend, I think I can manage with layers and just don't want to wear any of the heavier stuff this close to April and hopefully better weather. Today is also the big Mommy-to-Mommy spring sale at the fairgrounds pavilion. DIL is going, and if my foot feels OK (twisted it again on a high surf day on Coz) I may go for a while to entertain Didi while DIL shops. We'll see.

Have a beautiful day, all
Cindy

Howdy and good morning everyone.

Clear skies this AM with cooler than normal temps for this time of year. Currently it is 39F at 7:20. The high will only be 56 degrees. Weather lady said we won't get back to normal until mid next week. Darn. I'm wanting to get my tropical plants outside.

Yesterday's trip to Costco went OK. Barbara had her own cart and her own Costco card. Add one bonus point. I had a list and got only those items on my list, then stocked up on the liquor at the Costco store plus gas up the truck. Unleaded regular $2.17 per gallon. Barbara needed more time to complete her shopping and she said that she spent too much. Oops, -1 point Barb. Off to Bed Bath Beyond to return the Shark stick vacuum. No hassle and walked out with the full refund on a store merchandise card. That will make it easy to use the card on a future purchase. Score +1 for BeBe. Then to P.F. Chang's for lunch. It was very good and quite filling. Barbara insisted on paying the tab. Well alrighty then, score +2 more points, girl ! The drive back home was conversational. We chatted about trips to the beach. Neither one of us like to sit in a beach chair all day nor bake in the sun like a potato.
I like beach trips to the Caribbean (duh); she wants to explore Europe. Ruh-Roh. Will call that a wash.
We talked about our families some and what we used to do for work. I turned to her suddenly and asked "what about sex" ? She answered "not in the car". Well, who needs to keep score anyway, right ?
hee,hee.

Jamie, bad news on the water leak. Hope you can get that all fixed soon.

MB, that was a long day yesterday on your trip. Whew. Oh well, you arrived safely and can now relax.
Hope your weather is good throughout your stay.

Welcome home, Cindy. Bummer on your foot. Oh, I wanted to ask about your place while in Cozumel. I totally forgot the name. It looked very nice. Just as a matter of comparison, what was the nightly cost
and it included the breakfast ,si ?

Crunch, I absolutely hate that 'chirp' when the fire alarm battery starts to fail. I full understand why Tomas wanted to correct the problem and didn't stop looking.

Well, coffee time over and time to get the trash out.
Y'all have a great day,
Bernie

Good morning.  Beautiful sunrise this morning and enjoying a cup of coffee.  72 now and light breeze.  A silly agouti being playful on the iron shore amongst the sea grapes.  Love when those pelicans fly right over the crest of the ocean waves tipping their wing.  Make it a great day all.  Later, MB

Good Morning!

Final snow total 12+ inches.  DH out doing second round of plowing now.  Poor little dogs can't maneuver very well in the deep snow. Have to follow Calvin as he bounds around like an idiot.

Still working on trip laundry.  New washer is pretty much worthless.  Can only do small loads if I want stuff to come out clean. Takes forever to finish.

Glad that your shopping/date went well Bernie.

Twirls you can come here and cook anytime!  Happy to hear that the new meds are helping.

MB  Jealous here!  Please keep the day to day reports coming - they help reduce my beach withdrawal symptoms.

Morning all

Bernie, "not in the car"!  Sounds like you've met your match!  Great for you!

Crunch, last night a MIKE AND MOLLY show was on.  I don't really watch that but happened to be looking at it when Molly sat down to concentrate on writing a book.  Just then the CHIRPING started.  She beat down every smoke alarm in the place only to discover it was coming from something else.  I thought of you and Thomas.

I had 2 days of feeling pretty grenade today ...NOT.  I'm paying for it today.
Plus I've eaten so much in the last 3 days that o woke up to sounds of a cat fight...only it was my tummy.  I think it might have been the 2nd piece of cake.
Cindy, mine was not an Armadillo!  Although the way my tummy feels, it could have been.

MB, happy first morning.

Have several days of rain moving in.  Perhaps that's my agony today.

Good morning BCers!
Blue sky with temps in low 40s here.  Bit chilly yet for me.  Not complaining though.
The storms early in week pretty much missed us.
I have been sticking close to home.  Keeping the wood stove going.

MB, glad you made it safely to the condo in HB.  Morning pics are so gorgeous!

Jamie,  Hope your apartment is back to rights soon.

Bernie,  Glad you and Barbara are getting on so well.

Twirls,  Food you made sounds delicious.  SC would help you finish that red velvet cake.  Her favorite!

Cindy,  Hope your ankle feels good enough to let you shop with DIL and Didi.  Sounds like fun.

SNF,  All that snow... so unfair to have to come home to that.  My body would go into shock.
Bet it is nice to have your husband home to plow and help with the animals.
Never been a fan of the agitator free washer we purchased a few years ago.  Wanted it because it
holds big load.  Like comforters.  But really feel like it doesn't clean the clothes well.

Had a long chat with Kat the other night.  The entire community is helping to restore La Palapa
so that it can open again soon.  Trying to raise enough money to pay workers... eventually put concrete roof on the place.
Wedding is still a go.  Getting lots of help from neighbors and friends with that.

Hi all, plumbers (2) have been here since before 10am (almost 3pm now) and tell me it will be about another hour until I can have the water back on, starting to get annoyed. They may have to come back tomorrow, depends. Carpet guy also coming tomorrow to do something to the part of carpet that got water soaked to prevent mildew, landlord is throwing in some free cleaning of rest of carpet without moving furniture, yay!
Steady rain 8am-1pm today, burn areas being evacuated again (Montecito near Santa Barbara).

Twirley, mac n cheese sounds really good. Sorry to hear your meds are not helping as much as you need.

Cindy, hope your ankle gets better.

Thanks for the pics, MB. Have a wonderful trip.

Bernie, your friend Barbara sounds nice, and has a funny sense of humor.

Holly, is it Lyrica? Be careful with it!

Cindy--Have you tried Lyrica?  I have and the highest dose recommended by the manufacturer did not help me one bit.  Could not tell I had even taken it. None of my doctors can figure out what is causing the pain in my feet.  A lot of times it is related to diabetes, which Lyrica is approved for, but I am only considered "pre-diabetic".  Highest A1C I've ever had was 6.1.  Test this week showed 5.5.  Hope it gave you some relief.  Can't remember how much it was but it wasn't on my insurance "approved" list and I remember it being very expensive.  Really tees me off when you pay that kind of money, expecting relief, and get no relief whatsoever.  Sorry for the rant.

Late night all
Been on the phone for over an hour, giggling with Susy over silly stuff.  Lost track of time while having fun.

I managed to get to Lowe's for some door handles and lock I needed.  Then had dinner at Avanzare.  My regular meal of filet, houses mashed potatoes and fresh green beans.  Then back home.  Exciting.

Nothing new to report.

No Lyrica.  Humira, Methotrexate, Gabapentin, and now Mobic.  ALL at the current time.  Along with Folic Acid, pain pills as needed and omneprazole because of all the meds and my stomach...   TOO MUCH STUFF.   I can hardly fit in a vitamin.

I fought for 10 minutes trying to open a screw on lid to a plastic jar of gelato.  It's a good thing I had another flavor to open as I never could get the Butter Pecan open!  I took my frustration and revenge out on the Caramel Apple once I got it open, and I ate 1/2 of it!  I'll have to wait for reinforcements to fight with the Butter Pecan later.  I'll bet my howling cat stomach will be on the prowl again tomorrow morning.

Cindy, mine was not an Armadillo!  Although the way my tummy feels, it could have been.

Were you afraid you were about to explode? I will never get the image of the bloody armadillo cake out of my head.

Frank, yes. I was prescribed Lyrica for neck nerve pain quite a few years ago when the drug was relatively new. It didn't do anything for the pain and made me very depressed. Now I see the chiropractor once a month. In a month's time, my left leg is typically 1&1/2 inches shorter than my right leg from my spine getting out of whack. He straightens me out, and I'm good to go for another month. As I get closer to appointment time, the neck hurts more, so I think the spine was the source of the pain all along. I did not like the way Lyrica "felt". "Suicidal thoughts and depression" is one of the warnings for that drug.

Pam and Pam, what kind of washer did you get? I've had my Maytag HE front loader set for several years now and I couldn't be happier with it. I thought that without the agitator it wouldn't work well, but it does a great job. And I can wash a king-size comforter in it. Because of the size and configuration of my laundry room, I couldn't get the pedestals, but I count the bending as exercise. And Bernie? I've talked to people who weren't very happy with LG. I would highly recommend Maytag. The appliance people I've dealt with for years also recommended front loaders over top loaders for a better wash. They've always been reliable and have earned my trust for being no BS appliance dealers.

Bernie, the hotel is Playa Azul. They have a nice piece of beach front, and yes, breakfast is included. You'd have to ask Chris about the nightly rate, or SNF. But I think it was typical.

I did not go for the shopping, but DIL and Didi came here for lunch after the shopping, so we had a nice visit. Going to Costco today, and will stop in to see what all she purchased. Such a good idea to have these mass cooperative sales as little ones grow out of things so fast.
Time for another cuppa, so have a beautiful day!
Cindy
PS The weather guessers took the xitty rain/snow mix out of our forecast! It is all staying south of us.

Bernie! Sounding good! BTW, I had a checklist when I met my wife. I think almost every box was checked off!

MB, enjoy your time there, sargassum and all!

This morning, the dog has been providing cardiovascular exercise to the local squirrels. I keep her on a rope as those critters may lead her into the road. Fun, fun!!!

Gotta head out to the ski resort soon. I'm wondering who I'll be working with today! It's gonna be 40 degrees, but cloudy. It's the sun beating down on the snow that turns it to slush, so I am thankful for the clouds.

Be well all!

Lovin life,
Bob

Howdy and good morning to all.

Nice bright sunny skies this AM although I'm not excited about the weekend forecast with some rain. We are on the weather yo-yo again. Current temp 38F at 8:00 with a high of 57 degrees.

Not too much excitement going on yesterday. A trip to Lowes Foods for a few sale items. Spent some time on the 'puter comparing hotels on 7-mile beach in Negril. Finally bit the bullet on airfare pricing and booked for a week in June 12-19th. I selected the Grand Pineapple Beach Resort as it reminded me a lot of the old ABR. Should be nice and hot by that time of year.

MB, I forgot to thank you for the pretty pictures you posted yesterday.

SNF, which model washer did you purchase ?  I want to avoid that one. Of course, these days one can buy a brand new anything and  get a bad model. Quality is not what it used to be, for sure.

Twirls, PJ, Jamie, Uphill.  I didn't mean to give the impression all was just 'ducky' with Barbara. Honestly, I don't think she is a candidate for a trip to Mexico or any other place. She is OK but generally not a happy person. I don't want to be around anyone that doesn't have a happy disposition.  I'll keep shopping. hee.hee.

Cindy, thanks for the input on the LG washer. They are pretty pricey and price shouldn't be an indication of quality. I don't think I looked at the Play Azul but it did look like a nice place.

Crunch, you just want to hear the gossip, right ?  Me too. hee, hee.

Off to get ready for the day.  See y'all later.

Good morning. 70 now with a high of 81.

Yesterday I lounged around mostly and did some reading.  It was all good.  Slept through most of the sunrise today.

UHK, sure would like to know what's on those checklist(s).  Enjoy the slopes while you still can.

Cindy, DiDi looks like a tiny cherub in her beautiful huipil.  Will she be wearing this for Easter?

Jamie, hope everything works out with your apartment.  Sorry you have to go through all the inconvenience.  Dang.

Badger, miss your posts.  Hope you are doing okay, my friend.

PJ, thanks for the update on Kat.  I saw her wedding invite on FB yesterday.  Unfortunately I fly out on the 4th.

Crunchie, I brought in an item in excess of the Mexican customs directive.  After ripping through my 2 bags I was promptly escorted to an office as the infraction was printed off for me. Completed with exact time, day, passport information, name, etc.  I told her that I did not have an additional 4,000+ pesos on me so she reduced the fee to 3,000 some pesos or $172 USD which went on my credit card.  1.5 hrs. negotiating with her and two other male officials.  I've now been formally targeted in their system.  Now I know how you and Tomas must have felt with the Akumal Bay incident.  We bad.

Bernie, keep looking for a gal more to your liking.

Twirls, quite a list of meds.  Hope you get some relief and a well needed get-a-way soon.

Make it a great day.  MB

Thanks for the nice picture MB. The storm dumped over a foot of new snow on us yesterday. We had the drive plowed and I shovelled one walkway this am. Other will be for this afternoon.
My sister told me this season in Canada is Sprinter. Seems to fit.

AASB 2016 and 2017 were tons of fun! All ready for AASB 2018!

Good morning BCers!
Cloudy with temps in low 40s.
Despite the chilly weather spring is still making a show here.
Lots of flowers, bushes and trees in bloom.  My Azalea bush is thinking about it.
Actually picked a hand full of asparagus for dinner last night.  Just enough for SJ to enjoy.

Cindy,  washing machine is a Kenmore Elite top loader.  Dryer is a Maytag Neptune on pedestal.
One lesson I have learned living out here in the boonies...next time I buy washer or dryer.
(really any type of big appliance)  Will buy from local appliance store with their own repair service.
Bernie,  keep that in mind.

Bernie and Uphill,  Just remember....women keep a score card as well.
Giving you both a -100 and automatic rejection for insulting and immature conversation about women.

Jamie, Glad progress is being made to get your apartment fixed.

Morning all

MB, cigarettes?  I just arranged to ship some to a friend to bring down for me so I don't go over the limit!  I got reprimanded for that once and I don't want it to happen again.

Bernie, not a happy person?  Oops!  Keep moving.  I'm glad I'm not looking as I would be so disappointed.  I've already realized that no one is going to measure up to Jay, so I don't care to even consider the possibility.  As I typed this, I had a fleeting image of dreaming about the plumber... hmmm.  Maybe I did.

Looking forward to Pearl's homecoming tomorrow.  Watching the "PACK" videos, I notice she is the ENERGIZER bunny.  She doesn't wear out like the others.  They all play until they tire out and most lay down.  Pearl keeps going!

OMG MB!  You felon!!!!!   Did you declare the item or not?  I have heard you shouldn't.

PJ - these Boyz!  They never grow up.  I did chuckle though I have to admit.

Nipper - just yuck!

C&C - miss Didi looks adorable.

So sad that the family was found dead in their condo in Tulum.  I can't help but wonder what the cause was.  CO2, family violence, cartel, who knows.  Just very sad.

Not really a new place to go crunch, just life getting in the way. That is getting ready to change very soon though, cause I am going to PM and HMB with Twirley on April 17th. Hope I don't die from the shock of it all.

So very sad about this family, there is "talk" about possible asphyxiation from LP?  Don't know and certainly don't want to spread speculative information so I will shut my trap and await the facts as they unfold.  Prayers to their loved ones.

Ha! Ha!  I did too!   Just thought I would slap em around a bit.  LOL
I use to work only with guys ...most of them unmarried and looking.
Some of the things those guys would say regarding women... had me howling.
Other times... I would chase them out of the room for just being stupid. LOL

PJ, a minus 100???? When women do the same thing!!! LOL!

Bernie, I just can not imagine you with someone who is not a happy person. You'll find her!

MB, my checklist was pretty simple. I was on Yahoo personals (now Match.com).

#1 was non smoker. Just would not work out, I can't stand smoke. I know I bypassed a lot of very good women with that one, but that one simply would not work.

#2, I wanted someone who was active and healthy, enjoying outdoor pursuits such as swimming, hiking, biking, skiing, etc...

#3, when we met, I needed to sense kindness in her. I needed to know she was a good person. That was probably the most important thing I needed to learn about her.

Beyond that, I was open to meeting any lady. And I did. Some, just no connection. Some I liked, but she didn't like me. I still remember the night I met Jeannette, I asked how I know who she was. She said, I have the bike rack on a blue sedan (SCORE!!!!) I can remember telling a friend she might the one the next day. She was an incredibly kind person. As we learned more about each other, we found each other feeling about the same on finances, personal tastes and conservative lifestyle, saving for retirement as opposed to living high off the hog right now.

I'll share a few pictures of Jeannette. I love that girl.

Feeling a little melancholy about now.

Have a great day.

Lovin life,
Bob
