Good Morning
9F with snow falling. Maybe an inch with this one, but Thurs/Friday could be another 6 inch snow "event". I rather like when they call them events. Makes a snowstorm sound more like a party than the PITA that it really is.

Thank you for the condolences. Chris really is OK with this. She did not really enjoy quality of life these past several years, and Chris had a good last visit with her.

Barata, glad to hear John is getting back to normal, can't wait to see you guys soon!

Not much on the agenda today. My throat is feeling a bit swollen, so it might be a good day to take it easy. I REALLY do not want to be ill with a cold or flu. It felt worse last night, plus my back was aching too. Not so much now, so maybe it will pass me by.
Have a wonderful day
Cindy

Condolences to Chris and Cindy. Hugs.

MB, I'm not so sure I can get pictures while working with adaptive. You really have to be paying attention to the students. But here are some google pics:
https://www.google.com/search?q=MAine+adaptive&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjY09ei4ZPZAhXBs1kKHTG_CccQ_AUICygC&biw=1920&bih=949

One person here is blind. I don't mean "legally" blind, I mean completely blind. He has a headset on and the head instructor has a headset. He tells him to turn left or right, there is an upgrade coming, or  abump, etc.... I watched and this guy was doing it, on his own, just by doing what the instructor tells him.

I've always been a big fan of helping people, not doing for them. My favorite charity is Habitat for Humanity. Whoever the home is being built for, is there on the weekend work crews actually working on their home. If they have no construction skills, they sweep and clean up, move lumber, etc... I find this very gratifying. After working in section 8 type housing for 27 years, I don't find doing for people so gratifying. But when someone wants to do something and only needs a little help, I am there!

How about a funny story?

I was working on a habitat for humanity house years back, and more or less coerced my 2 youngest sons to join me one Saturday, for the morning. Their mother would come get them at noon and I'd stay the whole day. My boys had some skills, despite being 12 and 14. The head guy, knowing I was an experienced builder, was sending everyone to me, so I was the de facto foreman. I had a dozen and a half people on the second floor, no more room for more people. Then I saw a group of college kids come to the jobsite. I went down the ladder and told him I couldn't take anymore, in a pre-emptive statement.

My boys were working on nailing the sheathing on the rear wall around noon. Their mother comes to pick them up, and they don't want to leave. I said tell them I said it was okay, they can go play ball now. Still won't leave. So I go out back to tell them it's okay, they can leave. I didn't bother. Those two boys were on the staging with about 6 college age girls showing them how to hammer nails and chatting with them. Them's my boys!!! And they have way more game then their Dad ever did!

Be well all!

So glad you are at peace with things Chris and that you had that final good day.  My condolences to you and your family and of course Saint Heidi.

Hope you feel better today Cindy.  Take it easier for sure.

How is your weather Jamie?  I am sure better than ours at 32 and 24 with the wind chill. Hasn't winter lasted long enough yet?

Funny story Bob.  Boyz!

Howdy and good morning all.

The sun is shining brightly on the coast today and it's warm !  55F at 8:20 with a high of 66 degrees.
It's our warm front before the rain hits. Sorry that our Northern friends are getting hit with snow and single digit temps. Are the Canadian's to blame again ? Will have to talk to them about that. ha.

It was good yesterday to get out of the house. I believe Debby & I both needed a break. Pets Mart was a bust, as they didn't have the cat litter mats Deb wanted. She will order two from Chewy. On the way back home we stopped at a new development in Little River that had both homes & condos. Talked with the builder rep about models & pricing. They were cheaper that the original home Deb & Russ had wanted. We looked at the models and a couple of homes that were completed but were disappointed in the quality of construction. You know how nice they make the models look.  Anyway, Deb computed an approximate final cost after options and said it was above her budget. Looks like a town home or condo will be more affordable.

Today back to the 'grind' for Debby and I'm going to the bank and Walgreen's. Exciting, huh ?

Chris, sorry for your loss and glad your Mom is no longer suffering.  Big hug to you ! I'll get a ladder. hee, hee.

Cindy, you about ready to get away to Mexico ? I know you are. Where are you guys staying this trip ?

Hi to everyone. Need to get going.
Have a good one,
Bernie

Morning all

Poop pup is MIA right now and I'm too exhausted to care.  I was sooo tired last night that I barely made it to 9 pm to watch the end of OAK ISLAND.   Too much puppy care and the others are jealous and now wanting more attention.  This was not a good idea.  I have to keep the whipping stock close.

Turns out that poor Bently, Pearls brother, had a puncture wound (like me) because Pearl bit him!  He was getting infected and cost Cammie $155.  I offered to pay, since Pearl did it, but she declined.

Good Morning!

More snow sleet and freezing rain here. Has caused many changes in plans. Not driving north in this mess to see the baby horse work today!  Also had a dentist apt. cancelled by the dentist.  Cited weather and family issues. Daughter child is also working from home today - one of the perks of the new job.

Chris Our deepest condolences on the passing of your Mom.  So glad that your visit with her went well.  Please send hugs also to Saint Heidi.

UHK It looks like you taught those boys well!

SoSo OhNo! Hope you find your undies soon!

Hi Renee!  Question....Do we feed the pumpkin to the pooper or the eater???  Or Both???  Looking forward to seeing you and John soon!

Twirls sounds like ya need puppy prozac!

Good evening.  13 and sunny.  Unfortunately the light dusting overnight made a night mare this morning for commuters.  Good year for the auto body and tow truck folks. Got the sheets changed, a load of wash done, car warmed up, battery changed in one of the CO/fire detectors, driveway shoveled and two bathrooms cleaned.  A few phone calls later.....where did the day go?  It's all good.

Twirls, hope Bently is doing better.  Dang.

UHK, thanks for the link.  What a great organization and cause.  Cool story on the blind skier.  Now that takes some faith and courage.  Amazing.  Keep your good news stories coming.

Cindy, will Chris be attending service at Arlington?

Bernie, glad you guys took a well needed break.  Maybe a townhouse/condo is the best option for Deb.

SNF, not so nice weather in your neck of the woods.   Probably best the plans changed for today.

Not much else going on.  Errands tomorrow morning with list ready to go. Enjoy your evening, MB

Every Wednesday morning I meet with a group of men for a Bible study at a local restaurant.  One great mystery we ponder is:  Why in the world does the bowl full of the little plastic cups of cream have so many little cups of pumpkin spice flavored cream?  Now we know, you take them home and go out in the yard and dribble them on the dog poo to keep the dog from eating the poo.

I bet you're right Chris!!!

I wanted to let you know that I am so sorry to hear that your mother has passed away.  It touched my heart when Cindy posted that when you saw your mother, she held your hand to her face ~ she knew you were there and what a special memory that is for you to forever hold in your heart.  Words of comfort seem so meaningless at times like this ~ please know that we all adore you and Cindy and are sending you and your family love and big hugs of comfort!!!

Howdy and good morning all.

A little cloudy on the coast this AM and forecaster says it be stay that way. Expected high is 53 degrees.

Today I will gather my tax paperwork and start on the tax planner for my CPA. Shouldn't take too long, as I have most everything in one folder. Debby will continue to work on her paperwork items and seems to be making progress.

Hi Susy. Long time no see.

Of course, everyone knows today is Thursday !  Must get the trash out.

So Chris, how long you been getting away with this "Bible study" gig?  Sounds like a way to get together with your buddies to solve the world's problems  Guess I better get my Bible out and take another peak at it.  Sure don't remember anything part addressing "pumpkin spice flavored ice cream".

Bernie--Just realized you were talking about yesterday as far as going to the bank and Walgreens for excitement.  Today we are both doing a chore I hate with a passion.  My taxes are going to take some time to get my paperwork together.  All 3 of my rental properties had tenants move out this past year.  Always a lot of deductions getting the places back in tip top shape.  Not a lot of big expenses but a whole lot of little ones that all add up in the end.

C&C, I am so sorry.  Most of course because of the passing of your mom.  It's wonderful that you had that last day together.  I'm also sorry that I was so tired and wrapped up in my pitiful world that I failed to mention it.  It's hard losing your parents.  Not only giving up your lifelong idols, but also makes you think of your own time is growing closer.

Little Girl Pearl, is behaving better today than before.  So far, NO BITING and very little robe pulling.  I just stop walking when she does that.  Only 1 midnight puppy pile, in the bathroom on the tile.  Good job!
Crunch, yes, Margarita and Bonnie both get on her pretty good.  Particularly Margarita!  Sometimes Pearl responds appropriately but other times it makes her more aggressive.  I tell Margarita that she is a GOOD GIRL when she disciplines the pup.  Chili still feels the need to egg Pearl on.  Chili likes making her bark and jump around!  I know Chili snickers when I tire of it and scold Pearl!  I think Chili does it on purpose to get Pearl in trouble!
All 4 are in here irritating me now.

We are going to have a heat wave for 2 days then back to ice and snow.

Taxes...I know I'll owe so I'm in no hurry.  And whatever K 1 or 10 is, they don't come until late February.

That's about it.

Morning all.

Chris and Cindy..sorry about your mother(in law).

I have not read any LG forums for months..probably before hurricane Irma in September. I will do some catch up reading this weekend, while I am in Massachusetts. My sister, who usually stays with my mother (she has dementia) on the weekend, will be in DC for her twin grandson's 2nd Bday, so..i will go up to give my brother a break from his usual routine.

We would be definitely up for a BC meetup in Mexico. That would be fun.

Badger..loved the food porn non-trip report!

I'll make it my home sweet home...

Good morning BCers!
Pretty nice day so far.
I am in Memphis with SC.  She was lonely and feeling down.  Bday was the pits.
Her hours at work were cut during Feb. slack time for hotel.  She freaked out...because it meant she could
not pay all her bills.  Assured her that dad and i will help financially until she gets through slack time.
Hours will return to normal in March.
Spent all day yesterday assembling a rolling kitchen island cart.  Gives some extra counter space
and storage in tiny condo kitchen.  But easy to move out of the way.  Mom the builder strikes again!
Plan to stay here with SC until Saturday morning.  Help SC out of this depression.

Would love a BC meet up in Mexico.  Needs some laughs.
