Evening all

OH NOOO....JJ!  Hope you will be okay.

I also like classical music.  I really fell in love with it through Christmas music.  One Christmas season I was shopping in Victoria's Secrets and they were playing fabulous Classical Christmas music and I asked what it was.  It was a cassette recording of a mix of same.  The cassettes were for sale and I cherished that music for years until the tape broke

Was going to add more but was having internet problems.

Bernie called and said he was getting a cold but otherwise everything was fine.

Frank, wishing you the best.

Great news MB for your bro and family.  Finally!  Tom's bro is doing well.  Thinking he may move back to his own home in the next couple months.  Right arm is the biggest problem right now.  Still only 30% functional.

You have done a TON of work Cindy.  And you do have eclectic taste!

Ok, back to work............

Buenas Dias Hall Deckers, hoy es Hueves.

Can one of you Facebookers find out how JJ is doing, please?

Glad Tom's bro is doing better.

Hope Bernie gets a chance to check in.

Cindy, great job on the Christmas decorations, now I can just put up a small tree and then come back and look at yours when I need a fix.

We didn't do much yesterday, lots of reading, a bit of packing for our move today and then my dentist appointment. I got about $1,000 worth of needed work down for just over $200, very happy with the results. I do need more work done, so I might have to start looking for flights back down.
Down to only 7 more days here, we're feeling like spoiled brats. Temp back home this morning is 8F.

BAH!!! HUMBUG!!!!!!!

I'm probably going to get away with not setting up decorations this year, only to take them back down. No grandkids coming over (if they do, we can do it together!). And the skiing is pretty good. 18 days on mountain so far, last year at this point in time, I only had 6 days. Am I too old to be a ski bum?

BTW, the christmas decorations look really good!

Bob

Good Morning
Have most of the laundry done. Today is waiting on furnace guys for tune up, and septic guys for pumping. Hope they both don't arrive at the same time, or there will be a traffic jam in the driveway. We did get some flurries early this morning, now just a few random flakes floating down.

Not much else on my agenda except organizing my sock drawer. Exciting, huh? But seriously, it is a mess, mostly from searching for the heaviest duty socks to wear with the boot. Mostly done with the boot, so I need to get it order again just because I am a teensy bit OCD about organization. By color. And by weight. And frequency of use. OK, a lot OCD. If I get that done, I may move on to my cosmetics drawer. Now the real excitement starts.

Skyped for a bit with CC and TOMV last night. Their newest dog is such a little sweetie. A cuddler, too. She was sitting on Margaret's lap with her head stretched out on the table, only moved when Margaret stopped petting her. They name all their pets after Peanuts characters, this little dog is Violet. She looks just like the RCA Victor dog, if any of you remember that.

Pablo, be sure to give us an update on the newly reno-ed Hacienda Morelos.
Happy for brother and SIL, MB!
Hope JJ is OK.
Crunch, I'm all about dat base, bout that base, no trouble!
Have a wonderful day
Cindy

Good morning BCers!
Partly cloudy and muy frio here.  Not seeing snow in forecast anymore. That is just fine with me.
Slept in a bit as it was late when we returned from Nashville last night.
Jennifer Nettles with Nashville Symphony concert was wonderful!  SJ and I really enjoyed it.
Next up company Christmas party on Sunday night.  SJ will be MC of the Dirty Santa games again.
Also special rendition of "The Night Before Christmas".  SJ replaces words in poem with last name of
each employee.  Hilarious!  Staff enjoys the heck out of that!
SJ's family has now lost 3 more of the cousin pack.  Phil in St. Louis passed.  Billy in Chicago.
Now Howard in Chicago.   All of them were in fragile health.  So not unexpected.
SJ's brother called him and told him since these were all oldest brothers.
He did not want SJ to the feel need to follow suit.  Ha! Ha!
Not funny!   BIL will never know how close it was back in April.
Then the MIL repeated joke to me on the phone.   When I didn't laugh.  She said, did you get the joke?
Oldest brothers?    Yah I got it... not funny to me.  SMH

MB,  Such good news for your brother and SIL.  Pray 2018 will be a great year for them.

Cindy,  Your snowmen are so cute!

Uphill,  Hope you get at least a weekend with the grandchildren during their holiday out of school.

Checked on jj.
Told her everyone here is concerned about her falling and hurting her back.
Sent Hugs.
This is her reply:
Tell them I was admitted to the hospital and having surgery today.
Bwahaha just kidding.
It is better than it was yesterday but still very sore.
I have to concentrate on holding my rear still when I walk.
Mr JJ has been making me take drugs at night LOL

Morning all
MB AND CRUNCH, Glad both brothers are doing well.

7 more days...I'm dreaming again...

Very cold here.  Bird water is frozen.  They gather on the pool cover because there is usually some water in the low center.  If it gets about 2" ,a pump kicks on to pump the water off.  The birds roost in the pampas grass and come early mornings for water.  It's time to start filling the feeders.

I had a call last night from the same OLD BOYFRIEND who has called before.  He was lamenting over all HIS MISTAKES and bad decisions.  I'm sure one bad decision he referred to was letting me walk out the door.  I wouldn't be surprised to see him at my door soon.  However, I'm not interested except in hearing about his regret regarding me.    I have none regarding him.   I kinda feel sorry for him never truly being happy.

Haven't heard from Bernie today.  I'll check on him.  I hope he isn't down with his cold.

Can you folks stand some skiing pictures? Well, here they come!
I'm riding up the chair, just itching to ski some of this!

On the way up, I see a bunch of snowboarders having some fun!

And then a few minutes later, I saw this, a very rare sight, indeed. They were stretched out across the trail fairly well blocking it and they decided to bunch up off to the side. The trail wasn't particularly busy, but a good habit to be in. Yeah, snowboarders are known to block a trail, so this was a nice sight.

And here is why I love skiing at Sunday River. It's December 7th and they are blowing snow like crazy. They have 24 trails open, 4 lifts running and I already have 19 days skiing in the books for this season. These guys open up early and keep at it! Last night, they blew snow all over everything that was open at Barker, covering over all the trails that got rained on, improving conditions by at least 100%!

Today is a good day! Got some skiing in, and there is a pot luck with the ski club tonight!

Be well all!

Lovin life,
Bob

Sorry to hear about jj, hope she is feeling better, if one of you on Facebook remembers, please send my warm regards for a quick recovery.
Really enjoying the Christmas decoration pictures, geez Cindy you have a LOT of snowmen. Also enjoyed UHK's Santas on Skis, looks like great fun and for a good cause.
Glad to hear the good news about MB's brother Phil and wife Holly. They were way overdue for a break. Early present for them from Santa.
Best wishes also for Tomas's brother - sound like he has a ways to go.
PJ  what are Dirty Santa Games? Don't recall ever hearing about that.

Good news is the weather is warm, BAD news is we have 4 terrible fires going on here in SoCal, the biggest one up in Ventura County (next county north of LA) is reported to be bigger than Denver. Santa Ana winds have been blowing since Tuesday and are not expected to die down until late Friday or maybe early Saturday, red flag warnings still up. Air quality is poor although not too bad in my neighborhood.

PS - Bernie hope you are having a great time with family and did not get sick.

Good evening.  Pearl Harbor Day...76 years. 16 degrees now. Got out mid-day and chipped away at more ice on the driveway for about an hour.  It was sunny and felt good to get some fresh air.  Did some odds and ends around the home.  Pretty laid back with a few business and social phone calls.

Jamie, those fires are horrific. Hard to watch on the news.  So many folk's lives changed forever.  Sad and praying those winds die down and for healing for all those impacted.

UHK, sounds like you are going to hit a record this season skiing.  Keep the photos coming.  I enjoy them as it brings back memories of my former downhill skiing days in Colorado and mini-slopes in MN. 53" on the ski slopes here.

Crunchie, thanks for update on BIL. Sounds positive albeit a long haul.  Hugs. 38 degrees sounds great to me. Ha,ha.

Badger, I'm thinking you are using this dental thingy as a con to get you and Babs down to MX more frequently.  Glad you have a great dentist down there for a fraction of the cost.

Bernie, Bernie where are you?  Miss you daily posts.  Hope you didn't come down with something.

Twirls, where are the pics of those fresh flowers?

PJ, what a lovely evening with SJ and thanks for update on JJ.  Hope she checks back in soon on the BC.

Cindy, another busy day for you and hope it worked out just fine with people coming and going.

Sama, MB

Evening all

Sorry that unpacking pics.  I keep forgetting
I'm very close to pictures of ALL OF IT.  The kitchen countertops get installed Tuesday.
I got bathroom lighting today!  I CAN MOVE BACK IN TO MY (NOW) MASTER BATH!  I'm so excited!  It's very GLAM.  Probably slightly over the top, according to some...maybe.  So far, even the men like it!  It's simple black, white, Gray.  Very COSMOPOLITAN with a bit of bling.  Last thing I need is carpet for my closet.  It has to be carpet because of the tornado shelter door.  It the lightest weight and the most practical.  Plus carpet in my dressing room, which is what it REALLY IS, is appealing to me.  Soft, plush and warm.
   And I hate carpet.

Jamie, I am starting to worry about you..the fires are out of control.  I've been watching the news.  Just horrific.  I can't imagine and hope I never experience it.  I'm praying for those who are.

The world is crazy.  The news...

Good Morning
Snow coming this evening, in the 1-3 inch range. The good news is it will be much warmer today, with a high of 31. Now I can get out on the porch and re-do the arrangement of evergreens and bittersweet that Monday's 45mph winds blew apart and deposited in a corner.

Socks are organized neatly, and cosmetics drawer as well. I read somewhere that cosmetics should be tossed after 6 months. I found some eye shadow that had to be 10 years old, LOL. Old and unused stuff now in the trash and I feel organized once again.

Glad JJ has kept her sense of humor. As long as she takes it easy and doesn't try any heavy lifting, hopefully she will be better soon.
MB, YOU be CAREFUL on that ice! Maybe your mowing/yard guy could help with that?
Jamie, I've been worried about you, too. Those fires are painful to watch on TV, such devastation. Promise us that if it begins to move your way you will GET OUT OF DODGE AND STAY SAFE! Have something packed and ready to go, 'kay?
PJ, I agree. Not. Funny.
Holly, please remember pictures soon.
Crunch, good to hear your BIL is doing better. How about your Mom?
Time to go wake up Mollie dog. She had a big day yesterday supervising the furnace guy AND the septic tank guy. Sleeping in today, LOL. Have a wonderful day
Cindy

Those fires are just awful.  I wish those Santa Ana winds would quit blowing.  Lots of Tom's family down in SD. Very worrisome.

Bob - sounds like you are having a blast!

28 degrees this morning.  Had to leave the pooches in the house.  I hope they behave.

Mom and dad having health melt downs and such long waits for access to specialists out there.  Plus, they live way out in the sticks and also a ferry ride away and 1.5 hours from the city and now neither of them can really drive.  Mom was the driver, but with her still undiagnosed issues she is having now she can't do it.  Just do not know what to do for them.  They won't move.  Won't be aggressive about getting appointments because "tired of all that", won't go to ER.  Long rambling call on the answering machine from dad last night.  Will try to get him today, but not sure what I can do.

Buenas Dias Dirty Santas, hoy es Viernes.

I lost my post this morning and also lost two attempts to update my trip report, Wifi very slow here.

Jamie, be careful!

Crunch, sorry about your folks, hugs.

MB, you're on to me!

Twirls, need pix!

Moved to Hacienda Morelos yesterday, took some pix for you Cindy and will try to post them later. Probably can't do Boat Drinx tonight, if I can find a good signal, want to try mid-afternoon tomorrow?

Good morning BCers!
Gray sky and even colder.... yard patrol was very quick.  Pets have been fed.
Wood stove stoked.  Now for that first cup of coffee.... all is right in my world.
SJ had to get up way before dawn.  Doing live commercials during morning newscast.
His arse will be dragging tonight.  Poor guy.

Jamie,  Those fires are terrible.  Think I read over 200,000 people now evacuated.
Have an distant cousin and his family all evacuated from their homes.  (4 houses)
Praying for all those affected.
Regarding Dirty Santa game.  Everyone who wants to participate brings a gift valued at around $20.
Mostly gag gifts, white elephants, booze, restaurant and movie gift cards.  You draw a number for your turn to pick a gift
or you can steal a gift that has already been picked.  Gift can only be stolen 3 times.  If your gift is stolen.
You get another turn to pick a new gift or steal a gift.  Mean while Dirty Santa and his assistant try to maintain control
and keep to the rules.  Gets very funny.   The staff seems to really enjoy playing.

Crunch,  So difficult for your parents and for you.  (Hugs)

Twirls,  Social life will slow down after Sunday's employee Christmas party.
Then we fly to Chicago for MIL's 90th birthday bash in early January.
Due to new job and no vacation time.  Looks like I will have to cancel SC's SW ticket.
Get her another flight out of Memphis on United with a shorter 2 day turn around.
Still waiting for her to give the go ahead on that.

Coffee time is over.... time to get to chores.  Have a great day all!

Paul, I think tomorrow will work. Let us know a time (our time). H.M. looks great. Looks like they leveled the patio nicely, too.

Renee, that is such good news!

Geez, Crunch. You're in a tough situation. Is there no way you could convince them to move closer to you? I know you lost a brother...do you have any other siblings so you could join forces and convince them? The worry would drive me nuts; I'm so happy I have 4 siblings that live within an hour of Mom, 2 that are less than 15 minutes away. And she's in relatively good health. Going on a cruise around South America in January. But I'm already worrying about icebergs in Antarctica.  I wish you well and hope things get worked out. Hugs.
