Twirley, it's time to say "Back off, Bitches"    You've got more living to do.  And I'm with the majority.  You don't owe anyone anything, especially money!  Use it while you can.  I do understand the need to make sure that your four legged friends are taken care of though.   Seek the best treatment you can find and live the best life for the rest of your life.
And thank you Badger, for the updates...the last one gives hope~
Wishing all the travelers a wonderful time in the sand and sun.  I'm jealous.  Looking forward to photos from everyone south.
Have a great evening to all.
(just a footnote, who is the negative nelly that gives a thumbs down to every post?  I never see this unless I'm on my desktop, which I am right now)

Good evening. 9 now but the warm-up begins tomorrow.  Enjoyed my fitness class this morning and a 20 minute walk beforehand.  Followed up by a tan appointment and some reading.  Relaxing day for the most part. Tried to schedule some appointments before the trip but the timing didn't work out so will deal with it later.

SoSo, cool pics.  Looking forward to some tropical ones.  Hope the tail bone feels better real soon.  You had me laughing at your ant experiment silly chica.

Cindy, almost wheels up.  Hope Chris' last adjustment goes well tomorrow and safe drive to Mom's with the kiddos.

PJ, you've got a busy few months of travel in your future.

Hola, Beach Billy.  Hope life is treating you well.

Continued prayers for Ms. Holly and others.

Bernie, you sound re-energized.  Happy for ya.

Edit:  Gem, you snuck in on me.  Wish you would check in more often.  Hope is the greatest gift of all.

Can't quite remember all the chatter earlier so wishing all well.  MB

Good Morning
9 above going up to 34 with sunny skies.
Gem, I haven't seen any thumbs down votes recently, but we only have laptops. Weird.

DIL called early in the day yesterday, wanted to bring kids up for last goodbye before we leave, AND offered to bring dinner! Brought lasagna, salad and garlic bread, I didn't have to do anything except set the table. Sweet. Ted got the big and heavy stuff loaded in the car, and I'll finish up the last minute stuff this morning while Chris is at the Chiropractor. Should be at Mom's by around 12:30. Another bonus: one of my brothers called just before dinner and asked about Chris' back issues, and he is going to meet us at Mom's and help wrestle Sophie's kennel into the house! I love my family! And Chris had a brilliant idea: gave his garage door opener to DIL so she can just pull into the garage when she comes to water the plants.

Claire, nice to "see" you here, wish you'd check in more often.
Holly, prayers still coming your way!

Like MB, I have forgotten what other chatter I meant to comment on, and since we will do a 3am wake-up tomorrow morning to get to O'Hare, next post will be from Roatan. Wheels up at 6am! Have a wonderful weekend!

Good Morning, had a nice chat with Holly yesterday, she seemed to me to be a bit stronger. She wanted me to set the dates for Babs and I for the spring trip and post them here. Our tentative dates are from April 25 to May 3, but Holly will try to stay longer then that. It would be great if someone else could be there with her past May 3, hint, hint.

C&C and SNF, hope you have a great trip!!

Howdy and good morning all.

Just a wee bit chilly along the coast this AM : 34F at 7:30 but overnight we will have a hard freeze at 28F. High today 43 degrees and the sun should get out by 10AM.

Yesterday was my usual stop to feed the beach kitties and then a snack at Fibber's : Reuben spring rolls with melted swiss cheese and sauerkraut. Pretty tasty. Afterwards a shopping stop at Food Lion to get a few things for dinner with Sue. Sue arrived for Happy Hour at BeBe's house at 4:30 and was ready for a cold drink after fighting 7.5 hours of traffic and bad rain storms. It was raining too hard for me to grill the chicken breasts so Sue was kind enough to grill it on the stove for us. She did fuss a little because I had no garlic powder. Oh horrors of all horrors !  I will correct that culinary mistake today.  Dinner was great and no incidents between
Freddie and Sandi except Freddie snuck a few bites of Sandi's food. I talked to Freddie about that and she matter-of-factly stated "well it was in my bowl". Point made so I went easy on her sentence. Sue and doggie left about an hour after dinner to get home and unpack/wash her clothes. As she was leaving she asked if we could go out together for dinner tonight and she will pack her overnight bag. Well "HE double LL YES !!"

Nothing I need to do today except feed the beach cats and get that darn garlic powder. I believe I will put some fresh sheets and pillow cases on the bed and 'dance' the Dyson vacuum around the house.

Chris and Cindy, safe and smooth travels. Have a great time on Roatan !

Thank you, Cathy. I do seem to have an extra 'spring in my steps'. Hee,hee.

Well said, Gem. You go girl ! I didn't see any negativity but I did give you a couple of 'bonus points'. Ha !

  Hi ho you go, Crunch.

I will see what I can do, Badger. Maybe Sue and I can do a day trip off Isla to come visit Holly in PM. We will touch base around that time.

Coffee done. Will see y'all later.

Good morning BCers!
Blue sky and sunshine here.  Got in our walkabout...but it was too cold outside for me. Burrr!
Temps in low 20s.  With a high of 43F this afternoon.
We received lots of snow yesterday.  None of it stuck.  Melted as soon as it hit the ground.

Badger,  Thanks for the update on Twirls and PoMo dates.

C&C and SNF,  have a great time in Roatan!

Twirls,  prayers of healing continue for you.  Hugs

Safe travels C&C and SNF, nice that family will help with Sophie's kennel.

Grilled chicken sounds good, Bernie, try some rosemary on it another time, mmmm good. Have a great time on Isla Mujeres, love that place and it has been a long time, so many good places to eat, read somewhere there are over 100 restaurants.

Thanks for the update on Holly, Badger. Hope she has finally gotten rid of the house guests who overstayed their welcome. It not, a nice fat Louisville slugger baseball bat might get some attention from them.

Sounds like MB is pretty close to ready to travel as well with the tanning and workout sessions.

Thanks for the update and beautiful pictures, SoSo. Take care with those falls.

Feeling slightly better, warm today with rain tomorrow.

Hope Bobski is having fun skiing haven't seen him post in a few days.

Good evening 35 and sunny skies.  Had a really good day and got all the things on my list accomplished.  Got in a nice 2 mile walk before my functional fitness class.  Instructor Kate led the class for another instructor.  She is really outstanding on her instruction, modification and focus on form.  After class, I had 10 minutes to get to my monthly clinic RN meeting.  That went well and afterwards hit the tan salon.  When I was leaving there, I ran into one of the gals in my earlier class.  Then off to the bank, car wash and dropped my paperwork off at the CPA's office.  Next up was cleaning the garage floor and a small load of laundry from that task.

Jamie, glad to hear you are feeling a bit better but it sure seems like that crud has been hanging on quite awhile.  Please make sure you stay on top of it and enjoy the warmer weather.

Smooth travels to Pam y Keav and C&C.  Here's to great snorkeling, food and memories.

Happy Friday Crunch.

Bernie, enjoy your evening with Sue.

PJ, are your trees budding out yet?  Haven't heard much about that rowdy rooster lately.

Appreciate the updates, Paul.

How's Bob doing?   You too, Frank.

Barata, how's hubby doing?

Continued prayers Holly for strength, healing and peace.

Hola to the rest of you.  MB

Buenos noches...and SURPRISE! I have no single excuse for abandoning ship this June past...work, a busy re-enacting season,.....and the empty feeling inside from missing MX and all of you, contributed to my general “funk”.

I’m also here to extend my most heartfelt prayers to those who are dealing with health issues, especially Miss Holly.😞 My heart hurts for you...

We are going to try and plan on being in PoMo in late April into May, Badger. Thanks for keeping us updated.
If plans go south on us, we have a couple of gloves and b-balls for you to mule.

Envious of those Roatan piratas, SoSo/VSD, and MB. Fair winds, sweet rum, and memories to treasure, Mates!

We’re all doing OK, although Sweetie went through a rough spell from August into January. Three different diagnosis, emergency room with an overnight, CAT scan, nuclear stress test, etc., and after all of that, it appears to be asthma! She’s doing so much better, when before, half a flight of stairs, left her winded.
Kids are ok also; the usual school age colds and cruds make the rounds every once in a while. Brought Ori a new-to-her bureau last weekend and we spent the night. Played some crazy games, watched Frozen 2....I got an “I love you, Poppa.” from Ori. Kaia is tall like her dad...and going to need braces...just like Dad had.🙄

I only went back a week to do some catching up, and know I’ve missed a lot of all your goings on. I “see” some on FB, but it’s not the same as meeting you all here. If you’ll have me again, I’ll try to hang out more.😏😁

We’re off to our regiment’s annual meeting tomorrow, and I have to build a baked, bacon Mac n cheese for the potluck dinner. I’ll prep the ingredients tonight, put it together in the morning, then bake it at the commanders house. Friends gifted us some super sharp cheddar....going to be soooo tastey!

Evening all
I slept earlier and just now thinking of going to bed.  I sleep a lot.
My houseguest means well and is trying to do best.  I do understand that its a terrible shock for several as well as myself.  I can't expect them to take it any better than I do.  I even can understand the animosity.  Everyone's attitude reflected the reality of it.    It's better now.  I just takes a while to soak in.
And I have much to do to try to get things set up the best way I can.

JJ, I'll text you pics of some of the Mexico Artwork.

Badger, thanks for posting dates.  I know Susy and Tim were going to try to move their trip up a bit so they could be there while I'm planning to be.  I know I will need help with a few things.  I just don't know how much help.  I also know that several of you would like to come and I hope it's possible.  I have AA miles as well as delta and will always help if you need it.  I will try to stay 2.something weeks.  At least 2 and a few days so I can spend some time with B and B and also see Susy and Tim.  I'll probably arrive the 26-28 and stay until the 12th or 13th.  And hopefully this isn't my LAST trip...

At this time I am stage 3.  It's already spreading.  I'll get results of a brain scan next week and have the full body PET scan on next Friday, learning results the following week. That will determine if I'm stage 3 or 4.
This coming Tuesday I will start targeted radiation treatments everyday for 10-12 days.  Hopefully it will shrink a tumor pressing on some important vein and my esophagus.  After we learn the rest of test results, I will probably start chemo.  Depending on how and where it all is.  The chemo IS SUPPOSED to be much easier and less hard on a person but without any treatment Dr's doubt I would make it until the end of summer....
If it hasn't spread further than we know, and I respond well to chemo, there is a small chance I might get a couple of quality years.  I'll give it a go.  Prepare for the worst and hope for the best!

Enjoy your trip C & C and SNF and hubby.

Bernie, you go Buddy!

The rest of you, enjoy your weekend.

Praying for you Holly.  You can beat this stuff.

Don't know what to do about this cyst in my scrotum.  Went to another urologist and he said the same thing.  The cyst is not causing the pain and he doesn't know what is.  He recommended seeing a pain specialist.  Saw one about 8 years ago about my feet.  He was no help.  Hopefully this new pain doctor can help me with both my feet and the cyst.  Also getting a tooth fixed that came out.  Waiting for it to heal.  While I'm waiting I'm having my teeth cleaned.  I don't have dental insurance so my dentist said to go to St. Louis Community College Dental School and the students will clean them for about $25!  Prices cheaper than Mexico! Can't pass that up.  Work is observed by teachers who are dentists.  All the articles I read on it says the cleaning is the best you'll ever get.  That would be nice.  Worst thing is each appointment is about 3-4 hours.  A lot of laying around waiting for a teacher to approve what the student has done.  Guess I better find my earbuds and get my playlist in order.

Good Morning Clubbers, it's Saturday.

Twirls, thanks for posting the update, I am heading to work shortly but will text before I call this afternoon to make sure you are up. Hugs.

Mapes, it would be great to see you & Sweetie again, should we start a party thread so people can post their dates?

Frank, good luck, but I think it is time for you to get a second or third opinion.

Bernie, have you posted a photo of your new friend yet?

SoSo, hope you & VSD are having fun.

I talked briefly with Chris at 2:30 am, they wanted me to call them to make sure they were up in time to make their flight. They were actually checking out of their hotel already. They should be in the air right now. Good news is that Cindy is bringing her laptop along on this trip, so we should get more frequent updates.

I just returned from bringing another sister down to Green Bay to stay with my older sister for a few days. We still want the older one to move up here to be closer to remaining family.

Temps should rise to high 30s here the next few days, heatwave!

Wag more....bark less.

Buenos Dias Clubbers
Holly- I certainly hope you are not trying to play host.  I know how you like to host people-  I hope your house guest is taking care of you. Take a nap when you are tired and do what you feel like doing the rest of the time. Thanks for the update. Saying prayers for you every day.

Badger  Not to brag buuuut, I think it's going to be 50 degrees here today.

SOSO  Hope your bum is feeling better.  Love the ant story.

Hi Maple, Gem and BB!  Nice to "see" you.  All those grandkids are growing up fast!

Frank, when I lived in Houston, I used to go to a dental college for dental work.  I didn't have dental insurance and it was cheap. I don't remember waiting 3-4 hours though- but then again, that was many years ago.  Heck I can't remember what I was going to do once I get to the next room now. LOL

MB  15 days!!! WOOT!  How long are you staying?

I hope the pirates made it safely and enjoying the vacation.

Jamie  glad you are feeling better, finally.

Bernie- you make me laugh.  Hope you and Sue had a nice evening!

Holly- Remember when we were having cocktails on the balcony and I walked into the closed patio door because I thought it was open---  LOL  I woke up thinking about that today and had a good giggle.

Time to get on with my day!

HAPPY NATIONAL MARGARITA DAY!

Hi everyone.

Chilly on the coast today. 39F at 10:13 and a high of 53 degrees with a sunny day.

Slept in a bit this morning with Sue. So nice to snuggle. Sue and I had our coffee together and she just left to get home. Her doggie Sandy tried to play with Freddie but Freddie wasn't buying into that.

Nice dinner last night with Sue at Roberto's. Neither of us could finish our meals so doggy bags for us. We did bring home a little Tiramisu dessert for later in the evening. It was fantastic !

Hi Jamie. I had no idea that Isla had so many restaurants on that small of an island.  Looking forward to trying some of them. Hotel only provides a continental breakfast.

Thanks MB. We did enjoy our time together !

Maple !  Great to hear from you, Ed. Glad to know that Sandi's problem wasn't too bad and she is doing better. Maybe Sue and I can get over to PoMo to see you guys if you make it down.

Thank you very much, Holly. I hadn't tried to call you yet and wanted to do so when "the dust settles a bit".
Love and hugs your way.

Nope Badger, no pictures on my camera of Sue yet. I will be sure to post some when I have them.

Running a little behind. Need to get ready for the day which is mainly feeding the beach cats and lunch at Fibber's. See y'all, Bernie

Bernie  We went to Isla during the swine flu time, so it wasn't crowded at all.  Definately rent a golf cart and explore.  A lot of great places to eat and shopping is fun too. I ordered one of those maps and we tried to check as much out as we could.  Had a lot of fun a the Soggy Peso.  And there's bar with a sign "Beer so cold it'll make your teeth hurt"  I think we ran out of time and didn't make it there, but I heard it's a favorite as well.
We really loved Isla Mujeras.  I didn't want to leave.

Badger--That was my 2nd opinion.  I'm going to take these 2 doctors word.  They both said the pain is not from the cyst.  Both said it quickly like they have run across it before.  Going to go see the pain doctor  he recommended.  Maybe he can help me with my feet also.

JJ---You are right about the dental work being cheap. One advantage of no dental insurance!  If it wasn't I wouldn't waste the time. Thankfully I ran into a dentist that cared for their patients.  I was going to see if the dental school could do the other work I need but I don't want to take the business from my new dentist.

The forgetfulness hits me often also.  Went upstairs last night.  Got up there and could not remember what I came up for.  Looked around for about 5 minutes, remembered and found what I came up for---my phone!

janjon, the place with the sign about "Beer so cold it will make your teeth hurt" is for Villa la Bella, a B&B on the Caribbean side with great made from scratch margs and pina coladas and NO kids allowed even for a visit. Holly and I stopped in there one year when we were trying to find Isla Animals without success. Beautiful view. I seem to recall hearing about your face plant, that may have been the time I was staying at Vista del Mar (now Del Sol).
Hope Mark's leg is doing a bit better still.

Bernie, you might want to order a Mapchick map for Isla Mujeres, takes about 3 days to arrive. Also might want to get a bowl for Sue's dog.

Ed, great to hear from you and hope Sweetie is doing a lot better. Glad you are keeping busy with your re enactments, guess you will be doing more now that it will start to get warmer. Never had bacon with mac n cheese, sure sounds like a good idea.

Holly, glad to hear you are taking lots of naps and whatever else you need to keep up your strength. Will be praying for good test results next week and a good treatment plan.

Saw on the news yesterday a bear came down into one of the foothill towns, the critter was just walking calmly down the sidewalk ignoring all the barking dogs. Apparently they can tell when it is trash day. Fish and Game shot it with a tranquilizer dart and put it into a truck and took it back to the forest. During the summer they like to visit backyard swimming pools. Makes me glad to live near the coast where I only have to worry about grunion.

Good evening.  37 and a sunny day.  Did a quick return to Kohl's and another tan appointment. Got the bed sheets changed and washed and vacuumed.  Had a text from my neighbor Mary Jo asking me to stop by.  She had an unexpected surgery this week, a biopsy scheduled for Monday and had to cancel her trip to MX. We talked for a couple of hours and I headed back home.  A few more prayers would be appreciated.

Frank, sorry you are not getting anywhere on the cyst.  Perhaps the new pain relief guru can help with that issue and your feet.  Wish you the very best.

Badger, you've been one busy guy.  Been so much going on in your world lately with family and friends.  Thinking of you and sending a big hug.

JJ, funny story about the body plant into glass.  Most of us have had a similar moment in our life.  Glad you and Holly could get a good laugh in remembrance of your imprint.  Laughter really is the best medicine.

Sending happy thoughts your way Bernie.

Hey Mapes, good to hear from you.  Real happy that your Sweetie is doing better. Double hugs.

Holly, my prayers will continue and I will try to join you in spring.  Gentle hugs from your lost and found friend from Aventuras Akumal.

Night all.  MB

Good Morning Clubbers, it's Sunday.

Had a very brief talk with Holly yesterday, she was tired and not feeling well. She will call me later this week when she's feeling better.

Gem, I've got a job to do today and will call you this afternoon.

I hope C&C check in today.

JJ, braggart!

A close call for a friend yesterday, on my way home 2 cop cars went past me with lights and sirens and then stopped at my buddy's house where smoke was pouring out of a 2nd floor window. Right behind the cops were the firetrucks, so I got out of the way and continued home. Found out later that a candle had started the fire and my buddy is OK. Will check the damage on my way into town this morning.

We got up to 40 yesterday and it felt great!

Wag more....bark less.
