Bernie, my current car is a Dodge, not a Honda but I really liked my Honda Civic Hybrid, the Insight, not so much.

Holly I would not pay that much money for any car other than maybe a Beemer and I can get a 3 series for less than 80k (I think).

Bosco, glad you are coping with the heat, it is supposed to go back up to 80 Friday and through the weekend but lows are in the mid 50s which makes adjusting difficult. Would CBD oil or lotion help your hand? Otherwise maybe see what a rheumatologist has to say if it keeps up.

Great pics again, PJ, glad you two had such a great time.

crunch, see if Goodwill can take some of your MILs clothes off your hands and maybe someone can also get a nice tax writeoff. There is one store in the next town and when I was in there a couple of years ago they had some really nice tops and blouses, some with the tags still on and others "gently used" as they say, looked like they had only maybe been washed once or twice. Glad your MIL is getting all settled in.

Cindy, Judge Jamie finds Joey the more credible witness, Sophie looks a bit shifty, like her eyes will not quite meet yours.

Good evening.  29 and cloudy.  Think the high was 32.  Headed out early to hit the errands and vote.  Made several stops before heading home around noon.  Remembered to disconnect LED string lights on deck today.  Some light snow expected here this evening.  Lots of fund raisers for 13 year old Patric Vitek who passed last Friday.  Someone told me that a teacher clipped his bike while both were headed to school. Prayers for all.

Cindy, couldn't quite part with the ruana today.  In and out of the return bag with another item.  While at Kohl's I took a look at their selection and thought to myself not nearly as nice and quality of the TJ one.  I hear you on the opportunity to sport it in our climate.  Will give it a few more days to decide.    Hope Chris has/had safe travel with Clara.

Kim, kinda figured you and Tomas would go thru the boxes together.  Good luck getting it done before your trip.  Hugs.

PJ, thanks for posting pics and narrative.  That photo of SJ, after schlepping the bags to pier, is priceless.  Bet the fur babes are elated you're back.

SoSo, the neighborhood Halloween party sounded like a great time.  Hope all goes well with hubby and parents.

Bosco, still trying to understand what happened.   Will see what materializes, if anything.

Badger, same weather pattern here.  Unseasonably cold temps.

Bernie, no commentary on my purchases necessary. Mostly for the chicas aqui.

Make it a beautiful evening all.  MB

Good Morning Clubbers, it's Hump Day.

Well, that settles it, Judge Jamie has handed down her (correct) decision, Joey is INNOCENT!!

SoSo, you can add Cindy to the mosquito bait list with us, must be because we all are so sweet.

Twirls, how are you feeling today?

Bernie, food porn is always good.

Bosco, you cracked me up, again.

Mb, weather guessers are saying we might have single digit lows in a few days. At least it doesn't look like much snow in the forecast.

Busy, busy.

Good Morning
Clara's flight out of Baltimore was delayed by about an hour, so it was pretty late when she and Chris got home. She sipped a little bit of scotch with me while Chris sipped some tequila and we chatted for a while, but we were all yawning so headed for bed fairly early. Dogs were, well, exuberant in their welcome. Badger, had to demonstrate the knee to the chest move to Clara. Joey still wants to jump.

Bosco, are you sure it is not just arthritis? Never heard of bursitis in the hand, but suppose it does happen. I had it pretty bad in the hip; the cortisone shots REALLY helped, and now it has been several years of no pain in the hip.(plenty of pains elsewhere, though) Just the indignities of aging. If it is bursitis, they CAN give you a shot in the hand...but be forewarned: by far and away THE most painful injection I've ever had! (for trigger finger) Also, I do sympathize with you...have had carpal tunnel surgery on both hands, so know what you mean about the left hand wipe. SO awkward.

Snowing now. I guess the system slowed considerably. At first they were saying it would start by yesterday's evening commute, but by yesterday evening's news report, snow onset was moved to 4am today. Heaviest snowfall predicted for when I am on my way to chiro appt. And naturally, our county is in the band for the heaviest snowfall. (3-4") Which with our luck will turn into 5-7".

Need another cuppa...have a wonderful day!
Cindy

Tomas has had that hand/finger injection. Not fun, but did the trick eventually.  Maybe twice?

Single digit temps? Makes me think of someone shooting the bird..................

POA = power of attorney Soso. Hope VSD's sis is ok. Fantasizing about the days when we didn't have to worry about ourselves/parents/siblings health and home situations all the time LOL. Those were great times!

Jamie - you are the Judge. This jury agrees.

We had to do the knee/chest thing with Tuco for many years. Now if he attempts the jump up it is half hearted. It does work.

  Howdy and good morning all.

Supposed to be mostly sunny day. Current temp 60F at 7:33 with a beach high of 70 degrees.

Yesterday I opted to pass on a beach walk in the rain and went to Fibber's instead. Had to do it so I could get a snap shot on my BLT for Badger. Paul, I didn't have the flash turned on but I think you can see that it's a BLT. After lunch I made a trip to Walmart where I had ordered my new Bunn coffee maker. Looks pretty much like the old one except cleaner. hee, hee. Made the first pot this morning and coffee tasting great.

Maybe today I can get my 'arst' in gear for a beach walk.

Bosco, I know a temporary cure for what ails you : 10 day stay on the Caribbean beach of your choice.

Jamie, I must have been confused on the Honda but a Dodge ?? You better trade that puppy in. Ha,ha,ha.

SoSo, can't believe you shower with Zoey !  Actually, I can. Hee,hee.

OK MB. No comment then. ( although I did like the shoes ) Ha !

Thanks for the pictures, PJ. SJ's face on the ferry pretty much says it all.

Well Cindy, seems like the jury has reached the verdict. How will you decide a sentence ? No treats for a week ? Maybe Chris will have to install video cameras around the outside of the house to monitor all dog movements ? Oh those "kids". Sorry the cold and snow is in the forecast.

Hi Crunch. Counting the days, si ? Hoping they will go by quickly.

Been goofing off. Time to get going.
See y'all,

Still think I have a cold but it isn't too bad at this point.  I might have caught it in time with the Zicam.  That stuff works for me.

Bosco, LOL!  You making fun of us or with us?

PJ, the look on SJ's face in that first pic is priceless.  You can tell exactly what he is thinking.  I really like your husband.  Bet he was tired going back to work today.

I started a post before I got to the last page.  I was wondering why no one had posted today!

"Cindy, Judge Jamie finds Joey the more credible witness, Sophie looks a bit shifty, like her eyes will not quite meet yours."    Agreed!

Hi Soso!  I've tried to get Pearl in the shower with me so I could give her a bath.  She escaped.  Thankfully before I got her soaped up!    I knew there was a reason I should have put in a door on the shower.  Instead it's like a Mexico shower...open at one end for easy step in.

I've been getting in the hot tub at night before bed.  Despite the cold symptoms, I slept great.

We had a torrential downpour in the night.  It woke me for a minute.  More on the way leading into full blown winter cold.

Speaking of politics, Chris makes me incredibly mad with his narrow views.  How and why he supports his views as one with no job, no income and paying no taxes and doesn't vote is beyond my ability to reason.  I want to strangle him and dump the body when he starts that CARP which is anytime a news program is on.  I blocked FAUX news in my house but he has found FAUX business news channel.  I have to ban him to his room just to watch other news programs.

My chimney is finished and well done.  I was visiting with Miguel, the Mexican brick mason.  We had given the 2 workers bags of extra Halloween stuff as they both said they had kids.  Chris misunderstood Miguel to say he had 11 kids!  he actually has 1 boy who is 11 years old!  When I asked Miguel if he really had 11 kids, he replied shaking his head and Laughing... "Aye Aye Aye!  I am Mexican but NOT THAT MEXICAN!"  I thought that was pretty funny.

not much going on here.  Taking Tigger and Margarita to the vet for shots in an hour.  Packing up the Halloween stuff but leaving the Fall décor until after Thanksgiving.  Waiting on 2 more ghouls that I ordered on the after Halloween sale.  They should arrive today.

If anyone gets a cold, buy yourself some PUFFS tissues with lotion and VICKS.  Just  don't keep it near the toilet and don't use it if you run pout of TP!  I know from experience what menthol feels like in the wrong location!

On the same thought, Bosco...practice makes perfect...messes.

Good morning BCers!
Beautiful morning here.  The high this afternoon will be 70F.
Spent most of yesterday cleaning out suitcases and doing laundry.
Transferred Cozumel pics to desktop computer.
Need to go grocery shopping today.  The cupboards are getting bare.
Last night SJ patted his belly then told me that I need to wean him off all the
wonderful food we ate at the resort.  I said, easy enough.  How about a frozen pizza?
He said, I don't think you understand the meaning of "wean".
Gave him eggs, toast, sliced tomatoes and hash browns for supper.

SoSo,  Yep! Those mosquitoes like me.  Sprayed myself often with OFF.
Stayed in the pool up to my neck.  Still got bites on my face.  Incredible!  Little buggars hardly bothered SJ at all.
Found Aloe with Lidocaine stopped the itch best.  Popped a Benadryl at night for sleep.
Hope Zoey enjoys her grooming day.  Little cutie!

Jamie,  So glad you finished with the cataract surgeries.  Nice to not have a car payment for a while.

Bernie, the bacon sandwich looks yummy.   Looking at your pics.
I swear that when I took the girls to Myrtle Beach back in August of 2011.
That same blonde lady with the big dogs was walking them around the condo neighborhood of Surfside Beach.
Cudi was just a year old and terrified of her big dogs.  Though they were just pups as well.
Cudi absolutely refused to walk near them.  I would have to turn around or take a side street on our walks.

Cindy,  Enjoy the visit with Chris's sister and BIL.   You have been a busy lady.
Give Sophie and Joey a hug for me.

Twirls,  quite the Halloween party you and Chris put on.  Love it!

Folks, it is hunting season in these parts. Open deer rifle season. So I am not so much to be out in the woods. Every year, there is an accidental shooting, including people in their back yards. Buck fever is real. I am not worried about archery season or black powder season, but rifle season, you have way too many out there and a certain percentage is, shall we say, anxious? So, I am trimming back my hiking. There is no hunting Sundays. For any other day, I go to the ski resort. Tons of acreage with no hunting allowed. And I am wearing tons of bright orange clothing.

Weatherman is forecasting our first snow, up in the mountains. They are blowing snow and I'd love for Mother Nature to help out. I also would love for the repair shop to call me and tell me my snowblower is repaired! I have a large driveway. I dropped it off a week ago, and they told me it'd be a couple weeks or so. I heard the "or so". Folks tend to try to tell you what they think you want to hear. I'd rather they tell me 3 weeks if it is three weeks, so I can make arrangements. For now, I'll just hold on.

We have a new recreational pursuit in town. A bowling alley. Yup, the little hamlet of Bethel, Maine has a bowling alley. This is big news for these parts! There is one right up near Sugarloaf Ski resort, which is even more remote. I think folks have noticed that when skiing is not so good, folks staying in a hotel room are itching for something else to do. And I know locals are, as well. Including this one. It opened up about 33 minutes ago, literally first day! The kitchen is not up to snuff yet and they are finishing up some areas, probably the pool table and arcade area. I just may have to go over and check it out!

Have a great afternoon all!

Lovin life,
Bob

Good evening. 26 and fair skies.  Low of 17.  Woke up to a light layer of snow.  Went out and shoveled about an inch.  Didn't need to but wanted some fresh air.  Got myself ready for the day and drove the car up to Firestone for oil change, tire rotation and alignment check.  Mary Jo was there are 10 to pick me up and we went and had coffee at Panera.  Got home around 11:30 and then we went back up at 2:30 to pick my car up.  Didn't accomplish a whole lot today.

Badger, pretty much the same weather pattern here.  Hope you get the rest of your outdoor projects done soon.

No worries Bernie.  You can chime in on my shopaholic purchases anytime.  I was just messing with you.  Lot of bacon on that BLT.

Holly, my neighbor Mary Jo is staying at some adults only upgraded section of an AI in PoMo in February.  Can't remember what she called it over coffee this morning.  Doubt she will leave the gated area, but I did encourage her to check out the square downtown. She has given up on the Dominican Republic after the shenanigans there.

Bob, yes please be careful hiking on Sundays.  Like your idea to wear lots of orange.

PJ, hope you are settling back in.  Cudi and Elphie (sp's?) must be overjoyed that Mom is back and 70 degrees is a bonus.

Jamie, you thoroughly cracked me up with your Judge Jamie ruling.

Bosco, no offense taken.  Hoping you get some relief.

Just watching the dumpster diving bear in Tahoe, T-shirt.  Now that's one big bear. Hi to all I've missed and have a good evening.  Put a small pork loin roast in baby crock this morning. Think I will make a pulled pork BBQ slider. Be well all. MB

Good Morning
18F, snow is done until Sat.-Sun. Looks like 6" to shovel. No melt happening here; tonight's overnight low: 9F. Drive to town yesterday morning was slow and slick, but I was pleasantly surprised that all other drivers were being careful and responsible. Heard later that huge chunks of the main highway (I 94) south of Milwaukee were shut down for hours and hours. And they had just a fraction of the snow we had up here. Silly city people. Fortunately no fatalities. Got my adjustment at the chiropractor, did some bank business and made it home safely. With the snow coming down so thickly, we spent the afternoon playing scrabble. Clara's husband arrives tonight. Conference was in Iowa, not Ohio, so a pretty short flight, but doesn't arrive at MKE until 11:30 pm. I am not volunteering to pick him up.

Totally sympathize with you PJ. The skeeters never bother or bite Chris, but I am a walking mosquito banquet. I like the Benadryl gel for the itch, and "Andantal" that I have purchased in Mexico several times. Haven't really found anything that actually stops the biting in the first place...use the Repel wipes that have the high deet count. Helps, but they still find places to bite me.

Someone is moving around upstairs and the dogs are whining to go up and pester...have been using the baby-gate to keep them downstairs, it works well for that purpose. We don't lock it in place, but just slide it through the banister. Had to chuckle yesterday, Clara is so tall and has such long legs, she just steps over it! My pathetically short legs could never do that even when I was younger and more agile. I am in awe.

Nice looking BLT, Bernie, but you really didn't need to dissect the poor thing.

Hola to all, I forget what else I meant to comment on, but love to see you all posting. Have a wonderful day!
Cindy

BLT looks delicious. I could demolish the whole thing easily LOL.

In the 60's and pouring rain this am and by 10am will be in the low 40's. Stoopid cold fronts.  An even worse one coming next week with lows in the 20's and highs in the 40's. Grrrr. Way too early for serious winter!

Howdy and good morning everyone.

A mostly sunny day is forecast along the coast. 55F at 7:09 with a high of 73 degrees. I will enjoy the sun and warmth while it is available. Tomorrow a cold front will hit us.

Cindy and Paul, when I read your posts just a bit ago I felt saddened for your cold snowy weather. Yes, it happens every year but it reminds me of the cold out West where I used to live. Meredith keeps asking me if I will move back to Colorado or at lease closer to Colorado to be with the grandkids. I think they want a baby sitter. Ha,ha.

Yesterday I had a windy walk along the beach. Got there at 11 o'clock and beat the high tide. You will see how wide the beach was in my pictures and was able to do 50 minutes before heading to Fibber's. Had an egg salad sandwich and took a snap shot without opening it up. After lunch I shopped Food Lion and Lowe's Foods for mostly sale items.

Today I hope to do another stroll on the beach. The wind is supposed to be very light. Oh, and can anyone guess what day it is ?  Trash day !! My favorite day of the week. hee, hee.

PJ, if I ever see that couple again with the Dobermans, I'll ask if they lived down South near Surfside Beach. I noticed their car was a long version of the Chevy Suburban. It had darkened windows on the sides with stickers that said " K9 dogs". The brief time I chatted with that couple those dogs were VERY alert to my motions. I didn't hang around too long.

Joe, I know your M.O. and you always make me chuckle.

Cjndy, when you 'release the hounds' do you tell them to "go get Chris" ? hee,hee

Badger, heat up the Carhartts !

Crunch, I actually did eat the entire BLT, as I headed out for my walk with no previous breakfast.  Please stay warm.

Holly, I hope you feel better soon.

Time to set the trash out.
Y'all have a good one,
Bernie

Bosco, we didn't bring back any wine but we drank as much as we could, while there. We brought back some cheese though. Here are a couple of pics.
This is at a creperie we found and visited 3 times. Note the wine.

This is at  a plateau on one of the mountains. We took a funicular railway to there for a walk around and a picnic. Where we are standing is for the paragliders to start. We just stood and enjoyed the view. The wind wasn't in the right direction that day anyway!

Good morning BCers!
Cooler and raining here.  Temps going down..down..down.
Enjoyed much of the day outside yesterday.  Swept tons of leaves off the decks and porch.
After the sky clouded up...spent the rest of the afternoon putting away all the laundry.
Never did make it to the grocery store.  Just making meals out of what I have on hand.
Chicken fajitas on naan bread were pretty good.  Kinda like a chalupa.
Laid down on the bed at 8:30 pm to watch tv with the pets.  Zonked out!  Cat woke me up at 6:30 a.m.
SC and BF rented a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house in Raleigh, NC.  Set to move on Nov. 15th.
SC has interview via skype today with a gaming tech company.  As a customer training associate.
They mostly make games for casinos.  Keep your fingers crossed she gets the job.

Badger,  SJ would certainly make you a jack n coke.  There will be more jack than coke in the glass.  LOL
We received an anniversary gift of Nueske's bacon and breakfast meats while we were away.
Thankfully my brother retrieved box off the porch and put meat in the refrigerator.
It would have been a shame to let it rot on the porch.
Sorry winter has descended upon the northern states.  Think of you working outside in the cold.  Burrr!
Hope that Babs is doing well.

Twirls,  my husband enjoyed meeting you as well.

MB,  love the clothes and boots!  Very cute!
Yes, the dog and cat missed their mama.  The cat has been sticking very close.
Being more affectionate and talkative than usual.  Yesterday my brother called to Cudi from across the street.
She ran and got behind me.  LOL

Bernie, Fibber's egg salad sandwich looks great!  Might have to boil up some eggs and make egg salad for lunch.
It has been 8 years....but I am betting it is the same woman and dogs.  The dogs were young and still in training then.
She is such a tiny woman but was working hard to control and teach them.
Saw them out walking a couple of times a day for a week.  Actually I was constantly looking for them...
when walking lil Cudi.  So we could go a different way.  LOL

Nipper,  enjoying your pictures.  What a beautiful view of the mountains.
