Good morning BCers!
Beautiful day here.  We did receive a small amount of rain yesterday.
Not enough to even wet the porch.  Another chance of rain on Thursday.

Ran all the errands.  Picked up prescriptions, oil change for truck, drop off at Goodwill,
did the grocery shopping and filled truck with gas.  Took all afternoon.
Arrived home just a few minutes before SJ.  He helped carry in the groceries.
Then we went through the bills, etc.  Usually, SJ takes cares of this.
But since he can't write properly.  I have taken over making out payments
and keeping the checkbook updated.
Then we worked on paperwork for BC/BS and his company.  Regarding Medicare.
He had left that paperwork just laying on his desk for 2 months.  (I had asked him about it several times.)
Then he got a stern email last Friday from Corporate Human Resources.
Moved that paperwork right up to a high priority.  LOL
SJ didn't like it because they were asking for a copy of income tax filing and marriage license.
To be sent to a company other than the company he works for.  Might be a scam.
So I had to look up that company up on google.  Explain that it is a specialty company that
other companies hire to make sure their insurance is complying with federal laws.
Once I pointed out that it said to blackout SS numbers and dollar amounts.
Had the option to send it directly to his corp human resources contact for her to forward on.
He was more willing to provide copies.
Finished paperwork and made copies ask him if I should prepare an envelope for mail
or was he going to email to corporate HR contact?
SJ said,  No, I am taking it to Thelma.  Thelma is the business manager/HR on-site at the TV station.
I just rolled my eyes...  that was not one of the options.  I'm done!  Whatever!  LOL

Today I need to make a run to the dumping station.  Garbage cans are full.

Badger,  some yummy looking food you and Babs are eating.  So sweet of you to buy the microwave
for your friends.

Crunch,  yes Chedauri does sell cloth shopping bags.  We have two.
The change to cloth happened in May while we were in PoMo.

MB,  yes, it is sad when the summer growing season is over.  Want some mums for the porch and deck.
But fear they would just burn up.  The weather forecasters are saying our heatwave is not near over.
Few days in mid 80s then back into the 90s again.

Bernie,  Wishing you good luck and good price on the sale of the boat.

Jamie,  if you are eating well from the MOWs.  Please continue the service.

'afternoon, all
I did write a post this am. Hit submit, and after a few minutes, Badger's post popped up, but mine never did. Had to do my Tues. phone call with Mom-all OK with her and rest of fam. Then wanted to leave pretty quickly for Costco, to avoid the later in the day masses. I did well, got to check out and found a no-line open register. No Didi visit, they were at their Mommies group, but DIL said they may come up tomorrow.
LOL. just proof read my 1st paragraph. Wrote pooped instead of popped. Auto correct did not fix that!

Elphie is so beautiful. Your very own Halloween decoration. Or, as a member of the mean wives, aka sisters of the broom, your "familiar".

Paul, I absolutely love that shell chandelier. Assuming it is wired and lit in the evenings? Have you tried the food/beverages there? And will the chandelier fit in your luggage, hmmm? Food porn pics are nice, too. Very sweet to get them a microwave.

JJ, if you figure out a trick to training your pup to a leash, let me know. Sophie is a stubborn little biatch. And all muscle. Heck, I'd be happy if I could get her to stop stepping on my feet all the time. It hurts, dang it!

Sweet corn is done here, but we are gorging on tomatoes. Picked one the other day that had to be at least a pound and a half, maybe more. And it was delicious.

Can't remember what else I was going to say, and need to get to work.
Have a great rest of the day!
Cindy
Oh! and good luck with the boat sale, Bernie!

Buenas Tardes Amigos,

We were wandering around earlier and ended up outside Hacienda Morelos and decided to go check out the sargassum situation, shockingly, there was NONE! Not sure if it is a wind switch or what, but tomorrow we are breaking out the bathing suits.

Hello everyone

GEM, lovely wreath!

PJ, Elphie is a black beauty!

Badger, your hot shrimp dish in the Colonia made my mouth water!  Be sure to let us know how Mar-Bella is.  At least I am hoping you will go check it out although I know you'll feel guilty for cheating on El P.  Also be sure to try Spagettino's as you are so close.  I enjoyed it there and miss their fresh made pasta sauces.
So glad to see the lack of sargassum.  I think the hurricanes are pulling it along with them!
Thanks for taking time to post all your pictures.  I really love seeing them and looking forward to more.  And Thank You for your kindness.  It was a very thoughtful gift.  BTW, if you are so inclined, the shelter is low on dog food and funds....  I sent a donation via Paypal but it will be the 30th before it's available to her.  Diane, aka Chica Curtis.
I hope you are getting over your cold.

Bernie, I hope you get a very good offer.

Yesterday was beautiful.  Chris got the solar cover attached to the roller and rolled it up so I could get in the pool.  I enjoyed it and did my pool exercises which I much needed.  It was so gorgeous that I wanted to go out for dinner to drive topless in Roxanne but opted for lounging in the pool longer.  Those days are coming to a close.
I woke to sunshine but by the time my coffee was done, it had clouded over.  I had a dentist appointment at noon today and it started raining shortly before I left.  It only took 30 minutes and I had a few in town errands which I got done.  The temp only reached a high of 66 today and the swing in temps made me crave comfort food.  I almost stopped for a roast turkey dinner!  I ended up coming home and getting a Reuben sandwich and soup.  I'm using the leftover pot roast, gravy and veggies to make a stew for tonight.
The weather is so crazy and my allergies so bad that I had to run the A/C last night in my bedroom just to keep the humidity and the allergens out.  Since it was so cool outside,(last night dropped to 57) I had get up in the night and turn it down to 69 to be comfortable.  I had heard Pearl panting and I was hot.  I turned it off when I got up.  Then later this morning I had to turn the heat on in my room, just to take the chill off in the bathroom so I could shower before I left for the dentist.   Supposed to go back into the 80's tomorrow but only 78 Thursday.  Early next week is showing close to 90 again.  Yea, more pool time!

Better go get dinner.

Good Morning
We have a chance for showers, but then sunny and 72. Fairly breezy right now, can hear the trees rustling. Starting to see some trees turn; the sugar maple out front has some oranges and reds in the tippy-top.
Dil is coming up this morning with Didi. I might try and make some cookies before they get here. I also need to clean out and organize the fridge.
Twirls, nice you are still getting some pool time. That solar cover should extend the season for you, you might be able to use it well into Oct. the way things are going. When do you usually close it down?

The town came by mowing the ditches the other day. They must be expecting a snowy winter, after the shoulders were done they came through a second time and did the up-slopes as well. Made a lot of racket as they haven't done that for a couple of years and there were several weed trees that had come up. When the mower hit them it really groaned as it chewed them up. You read the farmer's almanac, Twirls, what are they saying for SE Wisconsin winter?

P&B, enjoy some time in the salt water. It's always good for what ails you. Vitamin Sea.

Better get going if I want to accomplish anything this morning. Have a wonderful day, all.
Cindy

Float time Badger!

Hey you puppy trainers.....how about trying a harness? That worked way better with Tuco than the leash to collar option.

Still mid 90's and low of 80 here. I am kind of tired of the heat and the AC bill! Although, I will gladly pay that bill if we have AC while it is still so hot.

JJ - I hate that thought!!!!

Howdy and good morning everyone.

Today should be mostly sunny. Current temp is 73F at 7:07 and the beach high should be 83 degrees.

Yesterday I received the call from Don to talk about pricing for my boat. He offered $24K, I countered at $26K and we met in the middle at $ 25K. He and his wife will be down Friday with a Bank Draft Cashier's Check from his bank, Bank of America. We will drive to the BOA in Sunset Beach and I will sign the boat title over to Don and the BOA rep will notarize signatures.  Then I will drive across the street to my bank and deposit the check. Back to my house to go over all the paperwork I have saved on the boat and give the new owners all the operating manuals plus a set of keys. I will show Don and Susan how to fold down the Bimini top and zip the boot into place. I will also help them to cover the boat so they know how it fits. I will suggest they NOT travel back to their house with the cover held in place with the bungee cords that I use at the storage yard. I'll help Don hook up the boat/trailer to his truck and check that brake/turn signal lights are working. From that point it's time to 'shake hands' with the buyers and say goodbye to the Lillie Mae. I admit that it will be a little sad.

Today I need to make a few phone calls and that's about it.

Badger, good news on the Sargasso situation. You and Babs enjoy the swim time. Thanks for all the pictures.

A big thanks for all the folks that wished me luck on selling the boat. I'm sure that y'all sent good Karma my way.

  Time to scoot.
See y'all tomorrow,
Bernie

Buenas Dias Perritos, hoy es Miercoles.

Re: doggie training, a friend shared a trick that she swears works for leash training, use a long leash and run it from their collar down their back, then just before the hindquarters loop it under the body and back up the other side and under the leash on their back, then stand to the side or behind them. What this does is tighten up around their abdomen when they pull hard and they really don't like that. After a few sessions you should be able to place the leash as you normally would.

Twirls, how do I contact Diane? Can I make a donation at that small breakfast place...Lola y Moya?
Yes, we have been to Spaghettinos before. Problem we have on these short trips is that there are too many good places and not enough time, and when we walked by yesterday they were closed. In fact, several restaurants around town are closed for remodeling and/or low season.
We probably won't try Mar Bella, a waiter at El Pesquero told us he talked to a foursome who had dined there and their bill was $12,000 pesos!! (almost $600 U.S.)  And it looks like they have very little business, we have yet to see a single customer go in there. Plus, for a "raw bar" it looks like the exact same raw seafood is placed out on ice in a window display every day. I'll eat just about anything, but old seafood is not one of them. You go first!

Cindy, I don't think that that seashell light fixture will fit in my luggage, it is almost 4' tall and yes, it is lit up at night.

We did have lunch at Hacienda Morelos yesterday, the nachos were just OK. There was only one waiter there that we remembered from last trip, Alberto.

For dinner we both had the grilled fish at La Playita, very nice light dinner.

After dinner we stopped for a nightcap at El P, then went to the Chedraui for a couple of items and stopped at the panaderia long enough to drool over the cakes.

A tormenta rolled thru for several hours this morning, loud enough to wake me, but it is clearing out nicely right now.

Hasta luego.

Good evening.  Feels like a long time since I've posted.  My BD yesterday was a very nice day. Spent most of it doing lawn work but it was warm and a tad humid and just enjoyed being out in the fresh air.  Finished up, quick shower, call to a friend and then Christine arrived at 6:30.  We went to Doolittles woodfire grill.  Good thing she made a reservation as the place was packed.  Got there just as the storm was moving in and folks quickly left the outdoor patio and got seated inside and lots of folks waiting for a table.  Had a great meal and we left around 9 just as the storm ended but the lightening and the black wall cloud was an amazing sight on the drive home.  Unfortunately lots of damage in Elk Mound, WI in Chippewa County.  Thankfully no casualties. Got an inch of rain here.

PJ, thanks for BD greeting.  When do you leave for Coz?  Excited for you and honey.

Badger, loving the pics.  Thanks for taking the time to post.  The water sure looks beautiful.  Hopefully, you enjoyed a refreshing swim today.  Those desserts look amazing.

Bernie, congrats on the sale.  Hope the farewell to Lillie Mae today went well.  Thinking the lawn work yesterday might be it for me as so many trees are now starting to drop leaves.  I'd said at best, possibly one more cutting....and then I will hire the kiddo to bring his big boy machine with bagger for the next four weeks.  Will see.

Crunchie, I'm with you on the 12k pesos.  Yikes.  Are you getting excited about your trip.  Will be here before you know it.  I like the harness idea.  With my last Manx, Buddy, he had a harness and leash and would hang out on the deck with Clarkee or do a walk about the lawn with Pablito.

Jamie, thinking about you and hope you regain your strength and put some weight on.  I know it is hard when you are solo. Hugs.

Hi Twirls, love all the cool pumpkins in your entry way.  Glad you are enjoying the decorating.  Fun, fun.

Can't quite remember all the other posts so hola to all.  Today was a good day.  My youngest brother, Phil, and oldest brother, Chuck, picked me up.  We headed out to Zoar Moravian Cemetery, on the National Registry,  to pay respects to our Mother y Father.  Stopped at Lion's Tap, a well known local burger joint, and then on to the cemetery where some of Paul's ashes were interned when his younger brother, Tim,  passed in 2018.  Older brother, Tom, passed in 2009.  A few photos to follow.

Miss my three amigos dearly.

Have a beautiful evening all and thanks for listening.  MB

Evening all

MB, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  I hope it was a wonderful day!
Nice pics.  Cute chapel at the cemetery.  The burgers look fantastic!

Cindy, I'll check the almanac but so far it hasn't been real accurate for here.

Dang, I was hoping for more pics from Badger but the cakes look great.  However, I have discovered that most of the fabulous looking pastries aren't as good as they look.  I'll refrain from comparing men to pastries at this time...

The afternoon weather turned beautiful after early clouds.  I worked on several small projects.  I unpacked the Fall decor and repaired/ re worked a couple of table arrangements and the outdoor wreath.  I did get the wreath hung outside on the house.  I cleaned up the paint boo-boos on the glass of the display case but had to add another coat on the exterior of the cabinet.
Chris worked all day on the big gates trying to rebuild them and add gate rollers on the bottom.  Probably will take a couple more days.  They are a mess.

Enjoy every day!

Good Evening Everyone!!!

I know that I promised to post more often ~ I'm truly not a liar but there's just nothing much happening out her to write about ~ other than it's hotter than He**!!!  OMG!!!  I just can't stand it lately ~ for some reason it's really bothering me this summer.  I know that so many of you hate the cold and snow of the winter months but I can't wait ~ please don't hate me!!!

I can never remember what is going on with everyone but I will do my best ~ I'll go back in order through the posts ~

Holly, first of all, I am so sorry about your car accident.  I'm so thankful that it wasn't more serious than it was ~ your car can be fixed but we need you to stay healthy and able to get around so that you can go to Mexico!  I loved your pumpkin display ~ the different types are so fascinating.  I always laugh over your Chris stories ~ I hope that he's being on his best behavior for you!

MB, I'm so sorry that I missed your birthday ~ belated Happy Birthday wishes to you!  I just have to tell you, the cemetery where your family are laid to rest looks so beautiful ~ missing our loved ones is so hard ~ hugs to you.  I've enjoyed your yard and flower pictures, your home is beautiful!

Bernie, I'm so happy that you have found a buyer for your boat!  I imagine that you have mixed feelings about it but I truly believe that Lillie Mae has found a good home and her new owners will love her and take care of her as much as you did!!!  Tomorrow is Thursday ~ don't forget to take out the garbage!!!

Badger and Babs, I'm so happy that you guys got to get away to PM!  I'm loving the food pictures and what a difference in the way that the beach looks in front of Hotel Hacienda Morelos ~ the sargassum in May was horrid and it didn't look like the Hotel attempted to clean it up at all!  I remember that you guys used to always stay there ~ I'm curious, is there a reason that you don't stay there anymore ~ was it the sargassum or something about the hotel itself?  The place where you're staying now looks great ~ does it have a name or number for rental inquiries?  I loved the dessert pictures as well but I'd much rather get full on tacos and fish!!!  Have a wonderful rest of your vacation!

Jamie, I am so glad to hear that you are feeling better!!!  I am in agreement with everyone else ~ please don't stop your Meals On Wheels!  I really do wish that I lived closer so that I could help you with your transportation issues.  I can't remember if you've mentioned using Uber or not ~ Amazon offers so many things online and it's almost always within a day to deliver.  I know that doesn't help with things like Dr. appointments though ~ maybe there is a Senior Citizen shuttle service?  Please take care!!!

Chris and Cindy, I have just loved the pictures of the kids gathering veggies from your gardens ~ they are growing up so fast and are so adorable!  Cindy, you posted this several days ago but I truly did LOL when you told the story about Chris telling you to ~ wake up, you're snoring and the lights are on!  I need to stop being so nice when Tim snores ~ I try everything in a gentle, nice way to get him to stop snoring but nothing works!  God forbid if I snore though, I hear about it the entire next day!  I'm just loving your precious doggie pictures ~ they are so adorable and must bring you guys so much joy!

Frank, I am hoping that your acupuncture treatments are working for you and that they will bring you relief from your pain.

PJ, I just love the pictures of your precious puppy and kitty on Facebook ~ listening to you talk to your sweet puppy was adorable.  I'm so happy for SC that she has found a wonderful person to be with ~ so glad that they are taking their time though!  Poor SJ, I'm hoping that he will recover the use of his hand with the physical therapy appointments!  Your post about him wanting to take the paper work himself made me laugh ~ Tim is so set in his ways of doing it the way he thinks it should be done ~ aka the old fashioned way!  Please know that I'm not calling Wayne old fashioned!!!  When I've tried to explain to Tim that people send text messages rather than calling, his response is ~ if they want to talk to me, they can call me!!!  OMG!!!  Sometimes it's just not worth the battle!!!

uphillklimber, I love your pictures ~ you live in such a beautiful area!  How wonderful that you are so close to mountains to hike and rivers to kayak on!  I have to say though, those pictures on the edge of those rocks truly made my palms sweaty ~ seeing you so close to the edge just freaks me out!!!  How sweet of you guys to share your garden yummies ~ your tomatoes looked so much better than mine!

Gem, you guys have the most adorable grandchildren ~ the twins are so precious!!!  I loved the Halloween wreath that you made ~ you are so talented!  My heart went out to you when you were talking about your Mother ~ everything that you said reminded me so much of my time spent with Mother.  It was the most difficult thing that I have ever had to do ~ being there for Mother meant the world to me but the guilt of saying no, when I couldn't absolutely broke my heart.  If it's any consolation, there were times when I would have to leave and Mother was feeling down and saying that she wished I could stay just a little bit longer ~ I would get to my car and realize that I forgot my sunglasses or her laundry or something ~ when I would go back to her room or pass the activity room, I would see her sitting wherever she was, already laughing and talking and enjoying herself!  I have promised my daughter that I won't make her feel guilty for not coming to see me ~ I hope that I don't follow my family (Mother's) tradition!!!

BeachBilly, my heart just breaks for you!  How very sad that you have lost so many of your precious kitties!!!  I hope that the ones that you still have will be better about coming inside at nighttime for you!!!  Would having a dog help or might the coyotes come after it as well?

JJ, I loved seeing the pictures of your new puppy on Facebook!  I am so glad that Woodie The Weiner is enjoying having a baby sister!!!

Bosco, I'm so glad that the latest Hurricane didn't affect you guys!!!  Looking forward to seeing you on IM!!!

MapleSyrup, as always, I love seeing your pictures of your reenactments on Facebook ~ they are so beautiful and I think it is so wonderful that you and Sandy do that!!!

Crunch, you know that I am always thinking of you!  I am so happy that you and Thomas will be going to Cozumel in November ~ I'm hoping that this will be your best trip ever!!!  The two of you have been through so very much over the last couple of years yet you guys are always so cheerful and positive.  Kim, your situation with your father is so very sad yet you have such a truly healthy outlook on it and I so very much admire you for that!!!

I know that I am forgetting people ~ I need to get off my lazy a** and post here every day so that I can keep up with you all!!!  As I said before, nothing exciting here ~ same old, same old!!!

Love and hugs to you all!!!

Bernie, you got the Lillie Mae sold! That truly has to be bittersweet. I'll be interested to know how you feel about midway thru next boating season. I mean, boating is fun, but owning a boat is not so much fun. I'm guessing you'll be going with relief as the overall feeling.

Tomato question for everyone. Several folks around these parts, many actually, deal with tomato blight of some sort. The tomatoes start out nice and lush, and then, when they get big and the tomatoes are full size, but still green, the leaves die back, hard. But the tomatoes start turning red. And some of them get these black spots on them. I pick the reddest ones of course, and many have no black spots on them. But in the house, they develop those black spots. I'll end up cutting half the tomato away and tossing it, which really isn't a problem, as I have so many tomatoes. (We love cherry tomatoes, basically garden snacking. We grow plum tomatoes and the larger regular tomatoes, 6 of each).  But the blight is annoying. I hear it is in the soil, and to eliminate it, you need to stop growing tomatoes for at least 3 years. Now, isn't that the reason folks have gardens, for the tomatoes???? Does anyon have any solutions?

Yesterday, we hiked Mt Abraham, a 4K peak near Sugarloaf. This is a great inducement to hike:

It was 4 miles to the peak, but that last mile included 2000 feet of elevation gain. Steep. You can see where tree line is and the Alpine zone is beginning.

That last bit of hiking over the rocks to the top took us an hour. We were hungry and on fumes, but at the top, we rested and ate and coming back, we made good time. Someone even built me a seat to relax on!

This picture shows what the glaciers have done and how the alpine zone is finicky:

There were taller mountains not in the alpine zone. It's not just elevation that gets you there. It has to do with the micro climate at each peak, and other factors I am not aware of.

Today, I have a 9:15 appointment at the doctor to look at my knees. My left knee had a click in after one hike, but that clicking has not returned. All that hiking yesterday, I was kinda figuring I might inflame my knees a little bit to give the doc something to work with, but the ole knees feel just fine today.  I suppose things could be worse.

So good to wake up in the morning and hear from everyone. Have a great day all!

Lovin life,
Bob

Good Morning
Feels like fall this morning. Currently 52, high will be 68. Had to get out the heavier, warmer bathrobe!

Was a fun day yesterday with Didi, at least once the dogs settled down. They get super excited when there are visitors. Do not want either of them knocking Didi down with their antics. DIL went home with lots more produce. She also spotted a very decorative looking little squash growing in the compost heap. Think it must be a hybrid with an acorn squash and ? Lovely pale green, I brought it inside to add to fall décor. Will try to remember to take some photos later...also trying to get a photo of a very large spider who has taken up residence on the deck. (Halloween décor?)

Happy belated birthday, MB! What a beautiful, historic setting for your loved ones.

Luscious looking cakes! But I tend to agree with Holly, those bakery cakes hardly ever taste as good as they look. (but I'd be willing to try one to prove myself wrong!)

Susy, so happy to see you here! We don't care if "nothing is going on". We just want to hear from you! And that snoring incident? I kinda figure it was payback for all the years BEFORE he got his C-pap when I would shove him upwards of 30 times a night because he stopped breathing.

Up late (for us) last night. An old friend from college called and wanted to talk politics, especially with Mr. Poli-Sci major. Good to hear from her, we chatted a while and then I turned the phone over to Chris. Strange times we are living in.

Happy/sad for you Bernie. But understand, and glad you found a good buyer.

Hola to all I've missed, have a wonderful day!
Cindy

Howdy and good morning everyone.

Today a mix of clouds and sunshine along the coast. Current temp is 76F at 7:08 with a high of 85 degrees.

Yesterday morning I assembled paperwork on the boat for the new owners. Also put together a Bill of Sale for boat and trailer. Ready for the buyers to set a time to meet tomorrow. We talked yesterday about going to the Bank of America in Sunset Beach early morning as soon as they open so signatures can be notarized and I get payment for the boat.

Today is trash day. Thanks for the reminder, Susy. Good to see you, gal.

I will go get the boat out of the storage yard later this afternoon and bring it to my house

Hi Uphill. I'll cross that bridge next year when I am "boatless". My guess is that I won't miss having all the expense of owning a boat, for sure. Beautiful pictures, Bob. Trees are changing up there in those hills. Pretty.

You were only off a day, MB. Hee,hee.  I'll probably get a little teary-eyed when the Lillie Mae leaves my neighborhood Friday morning.  Thank you for your pictures.

Hi Cindy. How does Didi handle those big dogs ? I would imagine they both dogs get excited to see her. 52 degrees already up there. Any bets on the first snowfall ? Yes, you are spot-on : happy and a little sad as well.

Crunch.  Yes, I was good on the sale price.

  Hi Badger, PJ, Holly.

Time to set the garbage outside.
See y'all,
Bernie

Dang, lost my post while trying to give Cindy the Almanac report!
To recap...  Rain and early Frost by Sept 30.  More rain but clearing for Columbus day.  nothing real notable the rest of Oct.
November shows rains and cold with a heavy rain and wet snow 12th -15th.  Around the 19th more snow with cold air.  Rain or wet snow showers for Thanksgiving.  Early -Mid Dec. is mostly unseasonable cold with some wet snow before and around the 15th.  Then milder with possible snow around 20th-23rd and cold but dry after and through the end of the year.  January shows snowy early then with considerable steady snow around mid month with blustery frigid cold following.
Enough about winter for now.  Like I said, so far here it hasn't been too accurate.

Crunch and other Cozumel lovers, I read yesterday that Cozumel is closing some snorkeling and diving reefs due to coral bleaching.  It was posted on the Friends of PoMo forum from the Yucatan Times, I believe.

Good to "see"you, Susy and you too JJ for your posts of late.

Bernie, Hope the boat deal goes smooth and you aren't too sad.  Boating is only fun if you have others to enjoy it with.  Neither of us has that opportunity often.  Once ours was gone, we decided that it made more sense to rent one as needed Vs the responsibility, cleaning, maintaining, storing and cost of owning.  We only did it once.

Pearl snores loud and Margarita does sometimes.
Last night none of us slept.  Margarita paced the floor due to the storms moving through.  Pearl was very restless and banged around in her kennel bed.  I was awake by 2:30 and most of the rest of the night for various reasons.

Part of the reason for not sleeping is I'm having an issue with "one of my girls".  I thought it might be bruised from the squishing impact of the seat belt from the rear end collision but it's getting worse.  My poor girls are so small now that when one starts getting bigger or swelling, I can tell!  And it hurts!  Particularly when I'm laying down. I can't sleep on my left side.  Got a Dr. appointment tomorrow.  I doubt it's anything major but it's uncomfortable and probably worth checking it now.  Probably TMI.
Enough of that!

Sun is out finally.  Now it's after noon!

Belated Feliz Cumpleanos, MB!

Some bad news, my camera has a built in battery and it is not taking a charge.

Yay Bernie! Great deal on the boat, I would say.  I'm sure you will find another toy come next spring.
MB, belated Birthday wishes to you!  Was it a secret!
Susy, great to hear from you.  So agree about the "Mom" stuff.  It's just so hard sometimes~
Twirls, happy to hear that Chris is behaving.  I can definitely see how he would get on your last nerve somedays.
Hope Badger figures out his camera!
Crunch, hopefully HMB is good for you.  It's hard to see all the changes going on.
Got nothing more.  Just a little bit of brotherly love for you all...

Hi Badger, sorry to hear your camera is having problems, hope it gets fixed. Did you and Babs get to go into the water today?

Twirls, glad to hear you are still able to use your pool, sounds wonderful. Hope the problem with the "girls" is minor, good luck at the Dr tomorrow.

MB, belated happy birthday from me as well, agree with Twirls and others, the Mexican desserts I have had (not many) just don't taste as good, although I am not a big dessert eater (ice cream does not count), I think many of us are used to a higher sugar content.

Bernie, good luck and best wishes on the boat transfer tomorrow.

Cindy, glad to hear you had a nice visit with DiDi.

Susy, always good to hear from you, hot here as well although it is supposed to cool down over the weekend for a few days, might get some sprinkles (probably hit in the desert areas rather than over near the coast).

Majority rules, so I re-upped for another two weeks of Meals on Wheels, but that is about all I can afford. Getting a little stronger but it is going to take awhile. Must have done something bad in one of my "past lives" to get hit with this karma stuff. Neighbor has been helping me and will take me to Fantastic Sam's next week for a way overdue haircut. She does not have much money so I pay here a few dollars here and there for her help. Been staying away from the driving the last few weeks since my cataract surgery for second eye got derailed and has to be rescheduled tomorrow with the eye doctor's office.

OMG there is some nutcase on Dr. Phil who is 17 and says his allowance of $1000 is not enough and he wants $1500 (he also refuses to work).

Crunch and other Cozumel lovers, I read yesterday that Cozumel is closing some snorkeling and diving reefs due to coral bleaching.  It was posted on the Friends of PoMo forum from the Yucatan Times, I believe.

I saw that, and then:

I just read this:

"The Cozumel Marine Park has acknowledged that cruise ships and the mismanagement of waste at coastal hotels along the marine park are amongst the issues that fuel the spread of the disease. The closing part of the marine park to divers is going to create awareness of the problems that the reefs in Cozumel are now facing."

So they are blaming the cruise ship waste management and the hotels, but zeroing in on divers???? To create awareness??? You mean???? So, divers, who wear wet suits and don't slather themselves up in sunblock, don't touch the coral, don't walk on it, come from resorts all over the island, let's prevent them from the main reason they come here, but let's keep the cruise ships coming in.

I love Coz, but if this kind of thing is going to continue....

Lovin life,
Bob
