Only one picture of boat day. I haven't received all the pictures from Meredith. This pic was from inside Crab Catchers.

Bernie, AND ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST...referring to more pickles.  Yes, it was TIME TO MAKE THE PICKLES!  I had "rested" the cut cukes and veggies long enough for me to get rested.  I was going to finish them yesterday but I can't lift the heavy loaded glass jars high enough to get them in the canner.     Chris was gone.  We did it this morning before he left.  6 pints of dill pickle slices.

During the canning ordeal, I realized I had been so excited last night when I got the trip booked that I didn't write down the confirmation number.  However it did give me the total mount including the insurance that was supposed to be charged and I accepted.  I had even made my seat choices.    I looked for the confirmation email this morning and didn't get one.  Hmmm ...so I checked my credit card for the charge of the taxes and my skymiles account and no changes had occurred.  I called and good thing I did.  There was some glitch, maybe operator error(?dunno?), but the phone assistant could see it but it didn't finalize.  He took care of it so it's done now.  BTW, I looked at more flight choices and it seems that Dec 3 and 4 were the flights (Tuesday and Wednesday flights going and returning) that were reduced the most.  A few other days in the month were also reduced but not as much.

Now my finger joints are hurting as bad as 2 days ago.  I'm sure it's working over the boiling steam.  I'm done with pickles and canning for a bit.  I have several bags of peaches and tomatoes already frozen.  Our garden is depleting except for a few more tomatoes and peppers.  I may start a couple of fall crop veggies.

PJ, I sure hope something can get done soon about SJ's hand.

We are getting a bit of a cool down with less humidity here for a few days.  I should take a drive or get out.  I have nothing on my schedule except Pearl goes to the vet to have a check on her ear infection tomorrow, which Chris can do.  He just walks her over because it under 2 blocks.
So what to do during the nice weather for the next 3 days?  HMMMM...

Good morning BCers!
Partly cloudy with a light breeze.  A high temp of 90F expected.
We did receive much-needed rain last night.  (Yesterday was the hottest day so far.)
Thankful for that.  Otherwise, I would still be outside this morning with the hose and watering can.
Yard patrol done, pets fed, cat sitting chores across the street done and outside water bowls refilled.
I'm on a roll here..... LOL  Having a sit down and coffee now.
Thank you for the congrats to SC on being accepted into grad school.  She was getting nervous.
Had not heard anything.  Already time to make a plan with an advisor and register for fall classes.
About to cry the day before.  Sent her some congrats flowers after seeing the email letter.
All happy now.

Crunch,  you are right.  SC went from size 4 to size 6.  Still skinny to me. LOL

Bernie,  thanks for the tips on hauling in the water.  Looks like heavy lifting is on me until SJ gets
the use of his hand back.  Going to have to lighten the load and just make more trips in the house.
Thankfully don't have to buy bottled water that often.  Back is fine now.
Your daughter has a beautiful family.  Those boys are so cute!

Twirls,  Nice score on the Delta flight! Would love to go to PoMo in December.  Not going to be possible this year.
We have the trip to Cozumel Oct. 29 - Nov. 4 already booked.
Plus I promised to go to Nashville... babysit the bunny and birds for SC while she and the BF
go to Cozumel Dec. 7 -14.   We do plan on Dec. 2020 in PoMo.  We'll just keep collecting baseball items until then.

Uphill,  what an awesome boat trip.  Beautiful area of the coast.  Thank you for all the pics.

MB,  bet it will be great to get all your things back into the bathroom.  I remember having to keep all
the bathroom supplies in boxes while we were building this house.  Bathroom in the cabin was tiny.
No place to store anything.  Constantly rummaging in those boxes for items needed in the bathroom.

C&C and Badger,  enjoy those cooler temps.   Send us some, please.
LOL on the change Badger.

Better get moving here.  See what chores I feel like doing.
Wishing everyone a beautiful day!  Hugs

Awesome trip report and pics Bobski.

Beautiful family Bernie and you always crack me up. Good luck with the A hole test in October. It would be cheaper for me just to tell you I don't think you are one ha ha!

Jamie - are you doing better?

Enough canning Twirley. You are going to have to buy a bigger house.

Size 6? OMG, I have never even driven in that neighborhood

Wonderful pics and narration, Bob, thanks much. Never made it up to Maine area but spent a fair bit of time on the Chesapeake taking FIL goose hunting and those watermen have a hard life making a living of the crabs and oysters and guiding in their spare time. Food is delicious but a lot of work goes into getting it onto the table.

Barata hope you and John find a nice place in BC for part of the year.

Twirls, score on the mileage trip. That is a lot of pickles! Saw an episode on Andy Griffith a couple of nights ago where Aunt Bee is making pickles. Now Andy, Opie and Barney love Aunt Bee but her pickles are just not very good, so they buy 8 jars of store bought pickles and put them in Aunt Bee's jars. All is well until Aunt Bee decides to enter a jar in the County Fair.

Badger, glad you and also C&C are both getting some cooler weather and nice breezes for a change.

PJ, belated congrats to SC on her graduate pursuits. Such a shame SJ cannot get in to see a specialist sooner but it seems to be the way it is these days.

Bernie, thanks for more pictures, you have a fine looking family and I agree, Sam reminds me a little bit of you. Don't forget to take out the trash tomorrow.

MB, glad you are taking a "breather" in between projects.

I'm doing OK, groceries, trash and laundry done, still having stomach problems but getting better slowly.

Good evening.  75 and sunny skies.  A beautiful day with low humidity.  Two coats of paint on bathroom walls.  Looks nice and Jerry will be back tomorrow at 9 to hang mirror and antique medicine cabinet.  A couple of areas to touch up.  Called electrician and left VM about coming back out to install BR fixture and one over sink in kitchen.   Noticed new neighbors across street from me are in process of moving in.  I met son, Derek, a few moments ago as he was here earlier to help unload with his Dad and then mowed the lawn.  Was waiting for a pick-up by someone to head home.  They have lived in a neighboring city; previous apartment owners.  I'm optimistic that they can handle home ownership.

PJ, I have several sizes of clothing in my closet.

Bernie, tell Meredith we need more pics.

Kim, hugs chica.

Evening everyone
PJ, I hope you all enjoy Cozumel.  I'll wave to SC across the water while I'm there.
I assume you have a step up, or more,  from the garage?  I cannot lift and carry heavy stuff so when Chris is gone, I learned to put my walker to good use!  I use it to move heavy stuff or a bunch of bags into the house.  I drape the bag handles over the handles of the walker.  The seat lifts and has a storage compartment beneath, which I cram full, and I set the pack of water bottles or whatever on the seat.  Fortunately when we re did the sidewalk the contractor suggested a poured concrete ramp instead of the step up to the front porch.  I have to go that way because there is a step up from the garage.  At least the walker is getting use for now.  Particularly today.  I did an Aldi run and Chris was gone.   Maybe a carry all cart that will roll up stairs for you, reducing the trips?  I just saw lightweight metal wire ones at Aldi!

Crunch, LOL but I certainly DON"T need a bigger house.  Just more storage and organization.  Hence, finishing the butler's pantry.

Cindy, definitely looks like the dog days of summer!  They look hot and tuckered out. I assume you were too?

Jamie, I LOL to myself several times thinking about that same episode.  I hope my pickles turn out better than Aunt Bee's!  If not, I'll trash them myself!  You sound like you are feeling much better?

MB, PROGRESS!

I intended to go into town and hit Dillards and Macys to see the clearance swimwear.  Didn't get that far.  Maybe tomorrow.
I did do some tidying up and got in the pool for about an hour and a half.  Fixed some dinner and cleaned up.  Watched a movie and now the news and ready for bed.

Sleep well.

PJ, December 2020, huh? Sound good to me!

Twirls, glad you got your flights straightened out.

Bernie, more pix please!

Love the doggie pix, looks like Cindy really wore them out.

Weather is still near perfect here, had to put a sweatshirt on yesterday morning.

Good Morning
Lost an earlier attempt.
I wore myself out yesterday. But made some progress on the weeds. When the dogs weren't trying to knock me over.

Badger, Chris brought home a "worx" yesterday. Not enough power to take on the ditch weeds, but I plan to give it a work out on some of the borders today. He had been having trouble getting the big Ariens weed wacker on wheels to start, but finally got it running and took care of the ditch. So glad to have that mess gone!  He usually takes Tuesdays off, but Milwaukee started up a new night time market (calling it "New-Waukee" Market) They set up right around the Federal Plaza and shut the streets down, so Chris was having to walk 4-5 blocks away to catch the commuter bus. It's only once month (the market), and there will be only one more in September, but I think it'd be better if he always took the Wednesday off.

Bernie, I keep forgetting to say that yes, Sam does look a lot like you (only cuter)!
MB, nearing the finish line on the bathroom reno! Looking forward to completed project pics.
I MAYBE wore a size 6 when I was 6. More of a Raphael body type myself.
Jamie, continue to get better.
BB, check in.
Have a beautiful day, all!
Cindy

Hot and humid again now. Enjoyed the cold front with only a 95 degree high yesterday, but that is history.

Poor Tuco has the belly skin infection again. The Apoquel has been helping so much, but his laying in dirt and grass with his allergies and all and I think the high heat just are a wicked combo. Luckily, we have medicated shampoo and antibiotics on hand at all times since we fight this permanently. Tomas was so great about giving him a medicated shampoo treatment and starting the antibiotics this am all during the morning rush. He is such a good dog daddy. Old Collie's just have these problems unfortunately. Luckily, he never seems bothered much by it. He will make him a vet appt. for Saturday, bbut hopefully he will be looking better by then and we can cancel. They are really good about just providing the meds since we have been through this so many times. We and they have tried everything. When Roscoe got old he had that constant butt wound and was on Cipro for several years.  I think no more Collies. It is just so hard when they get older and heartbreaking to watch them go through these things. H is still a very happy and chipper dude though so all is good.

Those Sophie and Joey pics are adorable. I see you have the same couch rules as us. None!

Howdy and good morning everyone.

Cloudy this AM and forecast is partly cloudy most of the day with rain this evening. Current temp is 77F at 7:13 with a high of 87 degrees.

Yesterday I had a BLT sandwich for lunch at Fibber's and then did my grocery shopping. Got a couple of laundry loads done. Didn't get any bill pay done but that will be today.

I set a dinner date for Saturday with a lady I met on Match. This will be our 'meet and greet' at The Inlet View restaurant for seafood; it is the one that sits at the mouth of the Shallotte River and has a view of the Shallotte Inlet that leads into the Atlantic. I'm looking forward to meeting her and for those that are curious she has her own home and is retired. I am no longer seeking those "younger chickadees".

Today is trash day; thanks for the reminder Jamie. I may just grab a bite to eat at Nell's for breakfast. Have not been there in a while.

PJ, where are you guys staying in Coz ?  Hope you miss the Sargasso.

Thanks, Crunch. You are very kind.

Cindy, great pictures of the "dead" doggies. I'm assuming they had been running and playing outside.
Thanks for the complement reference me and Sam....I think. hee,hee

MB and Badger, your request has been granted. hee, hee. Meredith sent me more pictures last night.

Coffee done & time to set out the trash. Some more pictures to follow of family beach day.

See y'all.
Bernie

Good morning BCers!
Woke up early.  Glad I did.  Lovely and cool outside.
Blue sky and sunshine.  With a high temp of 90F this afternoon.

Our niece Anna was married in Kauai, Hawaii yesterday.

Beautiful setting.  Beautiful bride.  I think she picked the perfect dress
for a beach wedding.

C&C,  cute pics of your pooped out doggies.

Bernie,  looks like those boys really enjoyed their first experience with beach and ocean.  Beautiful smiles!
We will be staying at the Occidental Cozumel Royal.  By all reports no sargassum.

Badger, thought there was mention of another get-together Dec. 2020?

Twirls,  I'll be sure to tell SC to wave back to you.  LOL

Jamie,  that Aunt Bea story made me chuckle and remember my exploding beets fiasco. LOL

Crunch, having the same problem here with lil doggie.  Rash inside ears.  Rash in armpits.  Goop in eyes.
Fight this every summer.  Soon as the weather cools down.  It all stops.

Hi, MB, BeachBilly, Susy and SoSO
Wishing everyone a very wonderful day!

Morning all...finally
I slept LATE today.  Don't know why other than I did stay up rather late last night and I had been up early yesterday.  My body just feels worn out.  Apparently so are the dogs.  Pearl didn't make any noise in her kennel and Margarita is still in bed.  Like Margarita, I feel like I could have happily stayed in bed.  I didn't get up until 10 AM!  Haven't slept that late in ages!

Yesterday was pretty lovely.  Blue skies with a breeze and humidity at only 49%.  Today it's creeping back up and is 61% currently.  So are the temps.

Bernie, you and Sam are peas in a pod!  It's very obvious in the pic of your 4 guys!  You both have that same cheesy grin!  Obviously he is full of mischief and has a BIG personality!  Just like you!

PJ, That has to be one of the prettiest wedding dresses I've ever seen!

Crunch, poor Tuco.  Goldens are the same.  Allergy prone and a lot of hair!  However still my favorite breed.  I'm sorry I didn't get another but I might!  Between Pearl's ear infection and itching I'm beginning to think...allergies.  Plus she sheds just as much.

I just learned that another longtime LG member will be in Pomo for 2 nights!  A visit is planned.  Looking forward to it except that EARLY morning flight.  Already dreading that.

Those kids look blissed out Bernie. And you look almost like a kid yourself. What are you? 55? Looks like it in those pics. Have a great meet up.

Beautiful pic PJ. Her dress was an awesome pick.

Good evening.  77 and partly cloudy.  An absolutely beautiful weather day here.  Not a good sleep last evening.  Up early and out checking oil and filling mowers with gas before Jerry arrived at 9.  He finished up his stuff in bathroom and I was on point to get this lawn done.  He left just before I hopped on the rider.  Got that all done and then headed out to water outdoor flowers.  Headed over to neighbor's and dropped off some compost in their bin and watered their flowers in entry.  Came back to clean entire bathroom, once again.  Hauled everything back in and it is feeling a bit more normal around here.  Nothing on the walls other than new mirror and antique medicine cabinet.  Have some new wall art and will decide that at a future date.  Certainly not a priority at the moment.  Headed back to neighbors and brought out their yard water, trash and recycle bins for tomorrow.  Went back home and grabbed to light fixtures and put them in their trash container which is much larger than mine. Tomorrow morning visit at Perio for cleaning and then will head to lighting store to return extra chain, that I will get a credit for, and pick up iridescent light bulbs that I ordered.  Both within close proximity to each other.

Cindy, don't know what that body style is.  You look great girl.  I am feeling wiped too.  Too much stuff this week.  Wore me down with all the activity and extra cleaning.

Holly, awesome that one reno is now done even though new light is not hung.  Soon.....closure.  I will post pics.  Good thing you stayed on top of that recently booked trip with the snafu.

PJ, hear ya on hauling heavy stuff in.  My biggest issue has been the 50 lb. bags of softener salt but Commers will now split the bags for me and I can manage the 25 pounders.  I put them in an old pillow case from my car trunk and, if necessary, will drag them inside down to lower level.  Gotta improvise.  Not worth pulling you back out or worse.  Edit: The wedding dress was knock-out gorgeous.

Jamie, glad you are feeling better.  Worry about you lots.  Just glad you got a neighbor that can watch over and assist you.

Dang Bernie, Jack and Sam sure are cuties.  That pic of their first ocean view is priceless.  Gotta frame that one for sure.  Hope your next lady encounter goes well.

Kim, poor Tuco.  Handsome pup is lucky to have such great loving caregivers.  Hope you get a break from the h/h soon.

Hola Badger.  I'm itching for a fall trip get away.  March is way to far off.

Hi to all I have missed.  Have a beautiful evening.  Headed for a much needed shower after national news and then a bite to eat.  Some rain expected in the wee early hours.  That full moon last evening was absolutely gorgeous. MB

Good Morning Chickadees, it's Friday.

PJ, not sure who first mentioned it, but a December trip next year sounds good to me. Nice wedding photo.

Bernie, thanks for the pix and good luck on your "date"!

Crunch, 95 is cooler?!? Yikes!

C'mon Twirls, who is the mystery guest??

MB, I think you deserve a fall trip.

Raining here right now, so I'm not sure where I'll be working today, but will be looking forward to Boat Drinx tonight.

Good Morning
I did the lawn mowing, too, MB. Was putting the peddle to the metal at the end just to get done before Chris got home. Oh, and just google almost any painting by Raphael that has women in it, you'll get the idea.

Yesterday I failed to get the dogs back outside right after they finished their breakfast. Before I could blink, they ran upstairs and jumped on the bed to double team Chris. Fortunately, he was laughing about it. I wasn't laughing when I went to bed last night and found a mound of Joey hair on my pillow. Pretty sure Joey was allowed on the bed in his previous life, he keeps trying, I keep yelling. But they did do a lot of racing around yesterday while I was mowing. After I got the kitchen cleaned up last night, I sat down to watch some of the Packers/Ravens game. Sophie was on the couch again, this time with her back to me. Sound asleep. Suddenly, WHOMP! Poor thing landed on her back on the floor. She looked so startled that she woke up on the floor like a turtle! At first I was a bit concerned she'd hurt herself, but she got up and shook herself and curled up in a corner like she was embarrassed. The whole time, Joey never moved, just rolled his eyes at her, then back at me, like "whadda ya gonna do?"

PJ, gorgeous dress and photo. Best wishes to the happy couple.
