Carrottop welcome to loco gringo. Stayed at the Blue Bay in Mar 2010 so hopefully things have not changed that much. First bring your walking shoes because all the building by the water are the time share rooms. Oh yea timeshare be ready to be hassled about getting the timeshare presentation, they are relentless between the phone calls to your room, letters under the door or every time you make a dinner reservation. If you can get past that the food at all a la carte is very good .Try the French, Steak and Seafood . you will probably be in building 6 or 7 which is about a 8 to 10 minute walk to the beach and some of the restaurants. The beach is nice but the ocean floor is soft and squishy, not really swimmable. If you are a pool person there is one close to building 6 and 7 serving breakfast lunch and becomes the oriental restaurant at night. One annoying thing they sprayed for bugs every night with this fog machine just before dinner hour so make your reservation for later in the evening. The smell is terrible. that's about it.

I went a few years ago also, like the previous poster, and it might have been the best resort I have never been to. I was never hassled with any time share thing. You DO need your walking shoes because it is a 10 minute walk from the rooms to the beach, where everything is. They have some carts but I found them to be to slow to come and get me.

Things I remember enjoying so much:
- Food, best food I've ever had at a resort (usually resort food is blah)
- Best shower I've ever had, like 50 times better than my house, you can sit down in the shower and be out of the water.
- Free 24/hour room service. My wife got this every night but I was always asleep by the time it arrived.
- Dance party on the beach. Every night that wasn't raining they had a bar with a dj, lights, disco out on the beach.
- Really nice fitness center.
I think the wifi was even free in the room but I can't remember for sure. I know I used my laptop in the room.

There were those coti creatures and racoons that would get in the trash cans and would run down the halls stealing leftover room service. I thought they were awesome but other people might be freaked out by them.

I agree great eats but the beach and sea floor were like swimming in a north Texas pond deal breaker for us no snorkel no go!
