My awesome weekend at TwirleyB’s

Hola amigos.

I had a wonderful time at TwirleyB’s over the weekend and am looking forward to
another trip, probably next summer. Since I need practice for AASB, I thought I’d
do a mini trip report and show you some of the sights in Twirley’s neck of the woods.

This sign on the deck that Cammie made for Holly immediately caught my eye.

My first night there, Twirley fixed us some shrimp cocktail and later we had some of her
yummy spaghetti, AND I got to see one of those gorgeous sunsets from the deck.

And meet cute little Margarita. [sm=love.png]

And sweet Bonnie. [sm=love.png]

Me and Twirley Saturday just before we headed to Branson Landing.

Here are a few random pics I took on the way.

Branson is already decorated for Christmas and playing Christmas carols.

This is the Titanic.

At Branson Landing where we had our “free lunch” and enjoyed the view and fountain
show on Lake Taneycomo.

After we left Branson Landing we drove to the Big Cedar Lodge. Pictures do not do it
justice, but here are few to give you an idea.

Driving to the lodge, you saw cute little signs.

Owen’s float trip & guides.

“Deer” strung with lights.

Falls Lodge from my side of the water covered bridge we were driving over.

The view from Twirley’s side.

Finally Big Cedar Lodge is in view.

Holly walking down the steps to the Buzzard Bar at Devil’s Pool. Her hubby said he had
to carry her up those steps one time, but she “claimed” she only asked for his arm. [:D]

One view of the Buzzard Bar. Can you figure out what’s wrong with this picture? If not,
you will see it clearly in the next! [8D]

The view from the level above the Buzzard Bar at Devil’s Pool.

Looking to the right, towards the Buzzard Bar where we finally got the table where the
man in the gray sweatshirt is sitting.

Joey and Dana are listening intently to Holly talking about Akumal and LocoGringo. Dana
is the one who had her wedding rehearsal dinner at Holly’s restaurant.

Here is a link where you can read the Legend of the Buzzard Bar:
http://www.big-cedar.com/Page/The-Legend-of-Buzzard-Bar.aspx

Horse drawn carriage.

As we were leaving Big Cedar Lodge, we drove over Devil’s Pool Bridge. This is looking
down on the Devil’s Pool Spring scenic swinging bridge that goes to the Devil’s Pool
Restaurant and Buzzard Bar.

We headed back to Holly’s so her hubby could drive us to that awesome filet and lobster
dinner and got there just in time for another beautiful sunset.

Thank you so much mi amiga! [sm=kiss.gif] I had an awesome time! xoxo

Great pics, Cata! Can't believe you got some of those while in a moving car!
It was a fun weekend! Thanks for coming.
BTW, guests are welcome. We enjoy the company. However, you have to be fur friendly.
Branson is ...Branson and kinda fun. There is Silver Dollar City amusement park.[8|] Big Cedar is definately a highlight of the area and worth a visit if you can. The lake in summer...well its not Akumal but it is water front with a view and we do have boats...I'm very thankful to live here!

    Wow, what an interesting place!

Tomas, it is a very interesting and scenic area of Missouri. Branson used to be a little town with a handful of country music shows and several antique and local craft shops. Now it is like a mini Vegas strip and definitely NOT as quaint as it was in the past.

Twirley, we really should start planning a LocoGringo get together for next summer at Big Cedar Lodge or maybe YOUR place??? [;)]

Gary, would you and Martha be up for an LG gathering next summer? I am hoping Twirley and I can get something planned.

Hey Susy, we really did have a wonderful weekend.

Twirley never runs out of stories, does she? Bonnie and I were talking about how the stories are even funnier because Holly gets so “in to” them. You can actually SEE it happening!

I’ve got a ticker now, and I KNOW we will meet in May and be up way into the night “watching” Twirley “spin” her tales!! [8D]

Lake traffic slows down the last few weeks of August when kids go back to school. Or the first 2weeks after Labor Day.

Casa Twirley is open anytime I'm not in MX! Whenever is convenient for everyone. It would be fun to have a midwest meet up at the lake! The Redneck Yacht Club!

Thanks for the report, brings back memories, my husband and I were given a weekend at Big Cedar as a wedding gift, it's wonderful there, we even did the carriage ride, but looks like they got a different horse since we were there.

The cabins we stayed at were just down the road....a short distance from Big Cedar
on a old golf course.....still had the practice greens but wonder if this is the "Top of the Rock".....but Murder Rock's back 9 was one of the highest points I have been down in the Branson area.....at one hole we were almost looking down at the airport.....[:D]
