Cannon House Studio

One of the spots in Akumal we are considering, but I dont seem to be able to find any pictures of the Studio. Its just my husband and I so Cannon House, ie the main area is more than we need. Wondering if anyone has some pictures they would like to share or links and or ideas on where to find some. [;)]

Go to the Hotel Akumal Caribe's web site, as HAC is the manager of the Cannon House.

We're staying there the first week of May. Can't wait to see it!!

My husband and I stayed in the upstairs/main house and I can tell you the location is wonderful, so convenient to everything. You'll have access to the pool at the Hotel Akumal Caribe and use of the lounge chairs too, as a guest at the Cannon House. Hope you enjoy your stay![:)]

Cannon House is no longer listed among the accommodations at HAC. Does that mean it is no longer part of the property?

That link is for the 2 bedroom condo upstairs.  Not the studio on the first floor.

    My bad.

So it's a condo?  I checked the price on the upstairs condo and it seems high for what you get (or don't).  I guess it's the location?

I call it the "Las Casitas" syndrome. A whole lotta nada for mucho efectivo.[:D] And yes, it must be the location. You can get a better value in Half Moon Bay and rent a golf cart with the money you saved on the room rate.

It is a very nice condo but the prices have skyrocketed since we stayed there last April.  [&:]

We are staying at *edit* and with the price (on sale) we got it's similar to this condo.  We've got a lot nicer/newer place..  Sure it's a walk to Akumal but that means I can eat more! [:D]

OK, we all have been down this road before, and in due respect to Tomas and Crunch, I consider it unfair to Las Casitas for you to continualy knock them down. Everyone who bothers to share on this forum is here because we love the RM. Just because you prefer where you stay over other places is your choice, it works for you. However, other places work better for other people.
If you have ever stayed in Akumal with 2-4 adults and 2-4 kids you would kill to stay at the Casitas. The price per couple or per room is competitive. There is no gathering your bags of gear for 4-8 people jumping in the golf cart and spending the day in Akumal. Thanks, I would rather walk out the door down to the beach with my cocktail and if I forget something or run out of ice, damn[:@] or any number of things that you wish you had once you get to the beach, it is a long 50 feet to the condo.
Even for two adults who do not sleep together, you can rent at Las Casitas for $12 per night more than two rooms at the HAC. And you get a full kitchen.

Mikey C, Casitas 2 bedrooms $212 per night Casa del Mar 3 bedroom $357 per night. Per room cost better and you can stumble home from the Lol Ha!![:D][:D]
These are all low season rates, it's the only time I go.
One of the best things about the RM is that there is something for everyone, it just tweeks me when preference means slamming a reputable and great property like Las Casitas. I have been staying in Akumal since 1981, ABR when it was a hotel, HAC, Half Moon Bay. For me and a lot of other people who have stayed there Las Casitas is the best for what we want.[:D][:D]

While I didn't bring up Las Casitas I can see the appeal but price wise apples to apples the larger condo is almost what we are paying ($260).

To each there own.  We prefer the privacy of a house and being right on the beach, just wasn't that big of a deal as we found out last year.  Plus my son loves a pool.

So can anyone answer their question.
This thread went sideways real quick.

Sorry Heatherj_1961, seems the Cannon House and Studio may no longer be a part of Hotel Akumal Caribe, as it's not on their website, as someone else mentioned. LocoGringo offers the main house only. I can only suggest emailing HAC and ask them or maybe someone at LG reservations may have more info. The owners of the Cannon House live right next door, I think, so maybe they took it off the rental program??

I have noticed there has been quite a rate increase since hubby and I rented last Sept.

We've stayed at Playa Caribe #11 a few times(one of the best on HMB, in our opinion), VDM in a studio and the Cannon House and all had pros and cons, but we enjoyed each one for what they offered. To each his own, I guess![:)]

    Durango,

Tomas is just jealous.  Las Casitas has always been on our wish list.  Just too pricey for us.[:(]

There is now a link to this Cannon House Studio on HACs page. Sadly there are only 2 (1 1/2?) pictures on it and scant information.

Loco Gringo doesn't have a page devoted to it but does rent it occasionally, I'm told.

Interested to hear from anyone that's stayed there......

    Thanks!!
