Akumal Beach Resort - "theme song" - 11/19/2004 11:32:03 PM

Just back from a week at ABR (trip Report to come!) but I am hoping that one of you who has visited the ABR knows the name of the song that is played every morning evening accompanied by the "Macarena"-style dance. I cannot get this song out of my head and need to track down a recording.

Anyone???!

i know the name of that song...i found it on the internet and burnt it onto cd...i will post the name on monday. same thing happened to me in april...couldnt get it out my head...cool song. took me two months to find

this is the song that i couldnt get out of my head when i was there. they do a line dance to it at night in the main bar. its totally a fun song. anybody else for the taking of the song i dont mind. dont quote me on the name though. i thought it was called the cha-cha slide, but i labelled it the mexican mambo, so the name could be wrong. for those of you who arent thinking the same song as me, forgive me...

ok just got done doing the digging.... the offical results....
CHA CHA SLIDE is the name of the song...the artist is DJ Casper. there are about 6 varieties of the song all available on disc....thats the verdict.

AHHHH HAAAA!!! NOW I KNOW THE SONG!!! My daughter has it on one of her CD's.....horray we got it!!!!!!!!! thank you very much all of you!! I called the ABR today and got my room reserved in the 600 unit!

Hi Michelle,

I got it also, thanks a bunch. However, this is not the song I was thinking about. The one I can't get out of my mind is the one that was constantly played by the Animation team at the pool and in the bar that was in Spanish (or possibly Italian) and the first two words of the song were Donde esta. Everyone would sing along who knew the song. The Cha Cha Slide is in English. I do remember hearing it also.

cat, you got the right song, but whale was looking for a totally different song. its sung in spanish or possibly italian.

I agree it's a neat tune also, and I do remember the animation team doing the aerobics class by the pool to your song. However, the visions in my head from that is most definitely not of the song. Anyway, thanks for reminding me.

Hey Michelle,

I found a bunch of songs on the web in Spanish that start with the words "Donde Esta" but no music, just lyrics. Maybe some of the Loco's that are going to ABR in the next few weeks can ask the animation team for the name of "my" song. They'll know it when they hear it.
