I was contemplating this weekend why I am so addicted to reading this forum every day and wondering "what is WRONG with me"? It can't be normal to get so much satisfaction from reading about other people talking about a place you only get to visit once a year! Then it occurred to me - this forum is evidence that I am not alone in spending countless hours every day wondering how to escape the real world and enjoy the peace and solitude of this slice of heaven.
So . . . I thank you for providing a small escape every day and for helping me realize that I MAY just be normal after all!! At the very least, I am not alone.

wannabeach, are you down there too in 12 days, i cant keep track of all the gringos enjoying the roo at the same time..our tickets came in on friday...yippee...

I love your reply, Wannabeach - it's everyone else who is not normal!! Is it just me or do you find that all of your coworkers roll their eyes when you start talking about your next vacation which is 9 months away???? I just don't get it!!

to say i'm wierd, you first have to define normal. since there is no actual definition,no set example, those who usually are normal are also considered quiet. perhaps that then defines wierd as loud. if this is the case, then i can be wierd sometimes, but then again everybody can be wierd at one point in the lives. wierd being defined as loud...people who color their hair blue are sometimes considered wierd also. does this mean that those who change their appearance are wierd? hmmm
okay, perhaps i need some sleep and a vacation...heehee

Are you kidding...Ofcourse they do! If you check you will find that those are the same people who have never been anywhere outside their comfort zone ( neighborhood )...They are the ones that are convinced that life ends at the borders of the U.S....They are also the ones who are convinced that you will become very ill and cntract some unknown disease if you drink anything other than bottled water or eat anything other than a cheesburger...And you say what??? Who's normal??? Oh...please give me sanity...

can you imagine how boring life would be if we were all dull, lifeless people? i am normal, but i think normal is defined as a person who loves life, lives every moment as though it is a gift...someone who is willing to learn something new every day, not afraid to be wrong every once in a while...my grampa used to say, the toughest decisions are made with your heart. once you have decided, forget about it. regrets are a waste of time. and what doesnt kill you will give you charactor...my grampa was a smart man...

It's called the Roo Rush. It accelerates as your trip nears. I've got it bad. Have you noticed that my posts are accelerating by the square root???
It's really just a way of enhanceing and extending your vacation. Not a bad thing!!!! IT"S LIKE BEING CRADLED IN THE BOSOM OF MOTHER ROO!! If you don't get this comment you're not keeping up!!

sunbaby, what i am getting at it that to be normal you would have to be wierd, cause normal is boring. to be wierd in this world is normal...got it? heehee

Exactly! I felt that way too....I was "miss tour guide" and it was my first time too!
