Part 2
Not going to make this report tooooo long.
Just the highlights.
After visiting the beach lagoon of the BPA we wandered around
the beautiful pool area and made our way back to the lobby
for room and key. We are in building 48 ground floor.
Good location for us. We all rushed to change into bathing suits.
Back to the beach lagoon.
WT and KT (my hubby and our 11 yr. old daugther)
go off to snorkel. I wander into the water...
just absorbing the beautiful sites of the caribbean sea.
The water is so clear. Beautiful fish are swimming all around me.
Catamarans with their colorful sails are skimming across the water
in the distance. Kayaks are bobbing along over near Bahia Tulum shore.
WT and KT in their snorkel gear are out beyond the ropes signaling
to each other. They have spotted sealife of interest and are excited.
People all about me are smiling and enjoying life.
All the tension of the day releases and I slip into the more
relaxed state of the ROO.
From there our days at the BPA slip by in what seems like a
beautiful dream.

With a rainy morning spent shopping at the Hacienda.
A pink cowboy hat for KT was a must.

An amazing trip to Tulum ruins via collectivo.
We hired a guide. It was worth the money. He brought
the story and history of the Mayan Indians alive for us.
Really don't think KT would have enjoyed it
half as much without the guide and his stories.
When your an 11 yr. old girl how can you not like a story that
makes you a princess and ruler of all you survey.

A major highlight...
WT took KT on her first scuba dive! It is called
an adventure dive. Children as young as 10 yrs old
can go. After a morning of lessons in the BPA pool.
They go down 30 ft into the Caribbean with
a dive master for about a half of an hour.
KT loved it! Saw a turtle!
The dive master told KT...Nina you are a pro.
Proud daddy...WT was thrilled.
PJamigo...scared mom..who does not and will never dive.
Sat on the beach and said, Hail Mary's the entire time they
were gone on the dive...is also very proud of KT.
Extremely happy to see the father/daughter bonding
that is sometimes lacking in our busy lives.
Bahia Divers made a video. I almost cried...watching it.
Can't believe this is my child so comfortable under the sea.

There were so many beautiful meals at the buffet and
speciality restaurants. KT was able to practice
good table manners. We all learned what a fish knife
looks like.

Early morning walks along the rocky part of the beach
(with my Bubba Thermos of coffee and tractor tire soled beach sandals)
looking at tiny sealife in the tide pools. Were a daily
ritual for me. While waiting for WT and KT to wake up.

Fun times at the activity pool trying to win a BPA
t-shirt. The dancing lessons were extremely funny.
Water polo very agressive...forcing WT into the cold pool
water to avenge is daughters honor. Her team was getting
clobbered.

Trying out what little spanish we know with the
staff of the BPA. Getting back such big smiles for
our efforts. Talking with them about their experiences
during hurricane Wilma.
Complimenting them on all their hard work bringing the
area back into such great shape so soon.

Meeting nice people from all over the world.
Early evening cocktails in the lobby bar with
Patrick and Allie from Belgium. Were a real treat.
Such interesting folks.

Returning to our room everyday to find the surprise
towel art animals left on the bed by Maria.
The sea monster took up the whole king size bed!
KT was really surprised with that one.

Since our room in building 48 was just across from the
volleyball court..place where most of the weddings are held
at the BPA. We also watched..(KT says spied on) many beautiful
weddings during our stay. Oh well...I love weddings.
WT and I are celebrating 25 years of marriage this year.
It brought back happy memories for us on our wedding day.
Proud to say that one of the weddings I spied on was
LG Lindarella's son.

The evening shows in the Lobby theater bar were fun.
KT is a dancer and loved watching the shows.
Gathering new ideas for dance routines and costumes.
WT learned the BPA song and body movements to go with.
He really got in the swing of it at the end of every show.
(I suspect this was liquor induced)
KT and I would moved a few feet away and pretended not know him. LOL

LocoGringo get together on Thanksgiving evening was a
a BIG Highlight of our trip to BPA. It was also our last
evening at the BPA.
Maggie and Squirt came, Shannon73 and her family,
Jefferson24 and her family and few more that I am sorry
but never caught the names. They were from Canada
and I spoke for some time with a lovely lady named Kim.
Three LocoGringo coolers were reunited on top of the bar.
The booze and conversation flowed like we had known each
other forever.
Maggie mooned all people in the BPA lobby bar.
I swear it! Was so stunned forgot to get a picture.
It was a lovely moon and artfully made. I suspect with
much practice.
PJamigo passed on her personal snorkeling floatation air mattress
(which I could never get my fat butt up on anyway)
to Shannon73's children.
We all bribed the bartender.
At the end KT and Maggie practiced ballet moves on the front steps
of the BPA. While she and Squirt waited for their cab
to take them back to the Sunscape.
We rushed off to see the end of the Mexican Fiesta at the Hacienda.

WT sang..."I had the time of my life"
and whirled me around a few times...as we returned to our room
for our last nights sleep at the BPA.
KT and I shushed him...it was very, very late.

WT was right...We did have the time our lives.
In the Roo...

LocoGringos are great people...what can I say.
Only hope to meet more and more of you.
Thanks to all of you for the good advice and the knowledge
shared here on the LG forums.

PJ is very claustrophobic. Can't stand the mask on my face.
I've tried snorkeling. Just couldn't do it.
Love to swim and swim underwater just fine.

Great to meet you PJamijo, WT, KT, Maggie Squirt et al, everything that has been said about the Bahia Tulum,Akumal and Coba is absolutely correct. The size of the three resorts is immense. It took us over two hours of solid walking to see most of it. We also used the bikes for an hour and did not see it all. I am sure most vacationers stay to their own side and never venture to the other two areas. The staff are extremely helpful and please treat them with respect as we all want the same in return. The newly opened section of the airport is very nice and not having as many vacationers around was a bonus. Once again for those lucky enough to be going to the Roo and the Bahia my jealousy is getting the better of me. Also may you and yous have the Merriest of Christmas and nothing but the best in the New Year.
Karlito, Shelly,Kim and John.
