OK. Here is how I go about grabbing and posting a webcam image. I have a Mac but believe the grabbing works the same on a PC.

I've only used the free version of Photobucket, so if you use Picassa or other, you're on your own.

Grabbing: put your cursor over live webcam window and right click...select “Add Image to iPhoto Library”

PC’s may have an equivalent option.

iPhoto will open automatically if it isn’t already open

Highlight the picture or pictures you want to export.

select Export from the drop down menu

from here you can login to Photobucket

once logged in you can select your album and resize size......I use the 15inch monitor size

click Export and the pictures are copied to Photobucket and it opens

click on the photo you want and you’ll get a bigger view

click on Image links on the right side of page and it’ll open to show different linking codes...

select the Direct link code

and it will flash yellow and say Copied.

Now you’re ready to open the webcam images thread and click Reply to Message.

Once this reply box is open, select the image bubble and [image][/image] will appear.

put a few spaces between brackets

paste in your Direct link code

Now you can click Preview and see how you did! Hopefully it works. It does for me.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

I use this link to view the webcam. I have a PC. To save a shot you just right click and hit "Save Picture As" and put it where you save your pics. Then I open Photobucket and do what you do. Your Photobucket stuff looks different but that might be their new version they keep flashing and haven't got around to using. Thanks 4 wheeled, you are the master!

looks like PC users have an easier way to get it done.

i'm kind of glad your way didn't work for me nancyjo, because it would have meant i've wasting a Ton of time on these!!

nancyjo- Your method does not capture the image, it places the live webcam in the thread. Check out the time on the current image in your post.

Here ya go Nancyjo

I hope this thread will become a FAQ.

The easist way. And by far the fastest.

Bookmark this linky ( THANKS BEERMACHT!!)

http://www.locogringo.com/upload/netcam.jpg

1.) Open linky

2.) If you want to save that image...right click on the image.

3.) Choose "save picture as".

4.) Choose "save in" location....ie: your desktop....my pictures....wherever you like. Click save.

If I am going to capture a bunch of images of a cam show....I will have created a folder on my desktop ...titled with the date....than save an image in that folder starting with #1 and so on until show is over or until I need another beer.

5.) Now...to get the next cam capture image loaded in the browser your in....just click refresh. Sometimes you need to click this numerous times as the cam does not always fire every 10 seconds.

Repeat as often as desired.

6.) Now you can save all the images to a disk. You can email them. You can upload them to a photo host site and link them into a thread here or any other photo sharing site.

Most of all I hope this helps and gets FAQ'd...cuz its the only way and super fast and easy!

Enjoy
