Hi Fins, I am interested in seeing your pics and you telling me more about PA. I am going there in about a month, I have never been so any kind of advise would be great. Thanks, Jewels

Okay...................so we left at 7:15am on Westjet. Loaded with 3 big bags (one containing humanitarian aid-surgical supplies and assorted other items for Tierra de Animales and Coco's Cat Rescue). they rock! they waived my 'oversized' baggage fee on the bag!! Sunrise from about 30,000 ft!~ Landed, got our luggage and headed off to Easyway to get our car. Wonderful brand new Nissan Tiida, it only had 1200 km on it! Headed to Costco for 'supplies! Ummmm...we DID get food, I swear it! But first things first' 2 new beach chairs...and all the booze!! Dropped some serious pesos on groceries, and these were only the 'big items'....(steaks, shrimp, clamato juice, olives, etc etc) Took our time getting to the condo (check in time was 3pm). We got there and thankfully there was someone working and he offered to help us with our huge bags, carry on, and groceries! (Glenn carries a collapsable cooler bag as his carry on. We use this to put our meats and frozen stuff in when shopping, and use it for beer and water when we go to the beach!). I love the fact that Puerto Aventuras is a gated community - 24/7. Gotta get past the guards to get in. Yup. feels safe being there. Also our condo complex has 24hr security too! The door was open as the maid was still there doing laundry............THIS is the view that greeted me when we walked through the door I believe my words were: "Oh my gawd, I'm NEVER LEAVING!!" From our huge patio YES this is all ours! 3 sliding doors out to the front patio; living room (2) and master bedroom Living room, and kitchen...door is down the hallway where the 2nd bedroom and bathroom are on the left Fully stocked kitchen, including oven and dishwasher Pool was literally 1 step away. Often, I was the only one in it! Second patio off the 2nd bedroom - facing the inner courtyard with beautiful gardens and pools and waterfall! Spent 28 nights here, and I never once got tired of my view....never Lower left 2 arches are ours...a total of 7 units in our building (the entire 4th floor is a 4 bedroom penthouse - for sale for 3.5 Million!) The door you see at the end of the hall is a washroom...to use instead of running back to your condo! Both buildings also had glass elevators! Yup,..,.of course I went swimming at night! My honey chilling outside on our first night, while I explore and take pics! Inner courtyard at night Bridge over the pool - from our building to the back building. "Back" building is 100 steps to the beach! Our unit, up the steps to the right...that's our door! Still can't believe my good fortune in finding this beautiful condo!! Found it at the 'last minute' (for me because I book well ahead of time), but I'm absolutely smitten with it. We have already booked, confirmed and put a deposit down on the same condo for next year. To put this into perspective; this condo was roughly 200.00 cheaper (for the month) than the one we rented in past years on HMB...and it's much much bigger, and has more amenities than that one. We loved it, we'll not say on HMB again.....PA is roughly 15km from Akumal. We always rent a car, so getting there is never an issue for us. when I travel down on solo trips I will stay in Akumal because everything I need for the time I'm there...is right there and I won't rent a car, but for our month long trip, we have fallen in love with PA. Day one down...enough photos for now...mas later....

ORIGINAL: cmooresun Such beautiful pics! Your condo looks amazing! Haven't checked out PA since 1995. Did you find anything interesting to do there or did you have to drive elsewhere the whole time? I am so jealous-cant wait for month long vacations. Someday The beach was so UNcrowded, we were completely happy to stay right there. We also had friends with us for 10 days (their first time) so we took them to Cozumel for a day, Akumal, Tankah Bay, and Tulum, and did another cenote swim and catamaran sail with Local Quickies (#6 for me) Rodman was also visiting for 2 nights so we went to get our snorkie on in Akumal, and then Weegamoose and Animooshe came down for 3 nights with us as well. Tons of restaurants all within walking distance, fresh market on Wed and Saturdays....so we were very happy being where we were. This February though, the winds were the worst we've had in likely 5 years....so when the water was calm, I snorkeled...when it was windy...I sat on the beach enjoying the breeze and the waves... More explanation and photos manana

That is a truly gorgeous condo, what is the name of it? Elevators - I am so there, I might even consider a stay there instead of Akumal for a short time if I had a car. Great pictures also, thanks

Forgot to show you 'this' pic from the condo. this was the coffee table..glass over leather...SO MEXICAN AND OH SO VERY PRETTY!!! We actually took the glass out to clean the sand out from under it, who would want this beautiful leather 'art' all scratched up, I know I wouldn't!. Also, while we're there for a month, I don't consider it vacation, I think of it as LIVING IN MEXICO for a month. We didn't have maid service, we did our own laundry (small washer/dryer, and cleaning supplies in the bodega). We have a dishwasher, I'm an adult, and really don't need anyone cleaning up for me, I'm pretty responsible! So, supplies (mine, and ours) are put away on the shelves...and YES I did have to restock this shelf! Las Moras-Sauvignon Blanc is a great white wine if you're looking for one while you're down there. So is Conchay y Toro's Reservado Sauvignon Blanc! Both Chilean, and can be found at Chedraui for almost half the price that Chomak charge. I LOVE MARKET DAYS!! After all the 'big item' buys at Costco, I went to market the next morning. Love love love the fresh veggies, and look-the colours of the Mexican flag!! Took all my veggies for a 'dip in their pool' (I dry them in the dish drainer!) Breakfast of champions!! (and the view is spectacular!) Ooops, I'm forgetting my obligatory sunrise shots...just one for now So, Rodney (Rodman on LG) has been a 'friend' of mine for a number of years (thanks to the magic of LG and FB) and he was in Cancun for 2 weeks, and wanted to get together. Our first full day there, he was on the bus bright and early to make his way to PA...I picked him up at the security gates so he wouldn't have to walk in and find the condo. Glenn and Rodney hit it off like Abbott and Costello? Peas and carrots? Ren and Stinky? Hey - they both drink rum, so you pick a pair! Rodney got the 2nd bedroom, and ended up staying 2 nights with us. He and I went snorkeling in Akumal together while Glenn minded the beach chairs...and beer. While we were all there, there was a HUGE SNOW STORM all over the east coast, and my crazy FB and LG friends were posting photos of themselves wearing their snorkel gear and LG coolers in the snow. Well.......I didn't have any snow, but I had SUN AND SAND and wanted in on that crazy photo fun! I can imagine what the other people thought...but Ima no care!! On our second day (while Rodney was with us) We packed our beach chairs, coolers, and snorkel gear up and headed to Akumal for a snorkel... So keep in mind, I was in Akumal for almost 3 weeks at the end of Nov, early Dec...and THESE GUYS WEREN'T HERE THEN! This one panga has been taken over with pelicans...poop everywhere! (BUT I love them!) Saw this youngun out there....still has nice bright markings on him Found the 'big green sea monster' living out by the cannons still! (More on THIS later......much later!) First time I've seen Gobies out by the cannons Turtles....love me some turtles, and YES I cropped the photo, I was no where near this close - I know better! 23 Squidoo! Circle of friends....tang'em style! Sunset...sorta Okay, enough for now.................mas later
