There goes the next neighbourhood

Looks like they will build a big strip of condos behind the road and use an empy lot(s) for beach access

Anyone else see this - get my deposit ready

Having looked at plenty of real estate, mostly condos, all over Q.Roo for several years now, those are very reasonable prices for modern, new construction for that type of location and the size of the units. The maintenance isn't bad either, especially with a private beach club included.

There's no way I'd touch anything pre-construction, pre-sale or still in progress of being constructed in Mexico. I've seen way too many projects get half built and not completed, and even building that did go up, a couple units and a show units finished and then never went further. Too many condo projects that get financed through pre-sale and when not enough units are sold, or there's more money needed, they just don't get finished or they sit for years until another developer comes along.

On their own site (http://haciendajade.com) they list a completion target date of 2015. The progress section looks like they're at the finishing stages of at least the first units. Nothing on the site says how many units they're planning.

A buddy of mine bought a lot in from PA about 10 years ago. "Roads and facilities are coming my friend". He still can't get to his land by road..

I kind of like them, but, I think I might want to lean more towards one of the older ones on HMB just to be closer to Akumal Bay, just my preference. And, maybe this development will drive down the prices of the older condos.

I think they look like boxes A little 'too modern' for me, and exude no character....

We went and looked at them when we were in Akumal last month. They are just a little too pricey for us though. It is a great location for the price, though it made me nervous that there is so little completed yet, I would worry about it never being finished. I believe there are going to be something like 60 units total.
We also looked at a developement on the west side of Tulum, called RivieraTulum......bigger homes and ALOT less expensive, all the roads are completed, finished model homes to see, several houses under constuction....we were much more impressed with it. We're seriously consideringtaking the plunge!
