HI
Anyone interested in sharing a fishing and snorkeling trip out of Akumal?
I know there are a few options for booking from restaurants and dive shops and negotiating with panga captains.
The Robinson Crusoe type tour would suit us as well. It just seems wasteful to head out with only the two of us when we can share the experience and cost with another couple or small group.
I'm thinking it is best NOT to reserve in advance, but to wait to see weather & sea conditions right?
A few hours with lines in the water trying our luck, jump in and snorkel a bit, a few snacks & drinks in tow, and we are happy happy!

Will be at La Joya studio April 8-17th and NEED to fish at least once!
My boyfriend Jimmy and I are active & curious but laid back 50somethings, who love to meet locals and other travelers.
I'll be introducing myself and posting on the parties forum; I know there is a thread started by others booked around the same time.

Open to suggestions and inquiries ~ thanks!
Tina

Hi,
Hubby and I would be interested in doing something like this. We will
be staying at La Joya April 6-13 in condo #1. We're not fisher persons
per say but would like to try. And we love being on the water and
snorkeling. Also in our 50's (well DH will be 60 this month), adventuresome
and laid back. We could either PM each other or just see ya' there!!!
So excited and counting down till paradise!

We'll be on HMB April 10-24. I'm good for at least three fishing trips duiring that time. We're doing a road trip to Guatemala the week before we get to Akumal. See you there!
We can book the fishing trip the day/night before. Do it every year.

The more the merrier!
Well OK with fishing maybe not really; 6 people is maximum LOL

Do you use a particular captain or business each year?
Would love to hear a little about your past experiences.

Are you up for a combo fishing & snorkeling?
I can't imagine being out on a boat and NOT jumping in with my mask!
Are we turning this into a Robinson Crusoe type thing where we are going to anchor of a beach or just a quick sail with a mission?

Leasa and I have just started considering dates. If 4/11 or 4/12 works for you we can plan to meet up to book this together.
Jimmy & I are thinking of doing a Coba Sunset tour on wed 4/10 so won't be back until 10ish that night but we are open for the prior evenings.

I noticed on the 'other' April parties thread a meet is in the works for 4/12 at Cueva.
We could regale them with our fishing tales and if we catch enough feed the clan too!

Ed and I are laid back and open for most anything but with that being said, I can't imagine being on the water and not getting in the water!
Besides we retired our old fins last year (left them at La Joya) and want every chance to use the new ones!
All sounds like fun!!!! The get together at La Cueva, fishing tales (hehe) and all!

If anyone is interested in going fishing you can pm me and we'll it get together. We are usually back by 11:30-12. It's $150 for up to four people
Not too interested in the sailing thing. We live in the Bay Area and have done our share of sailing. We'll see what shakes out when we get there.
We typically go snorkling in Akumal in the morning around 7-7:30 to avoid the crowds. Snorkling in HMB can be done anytime it's not too windy. We are planning a few day trips and have a list of cenotes we are going to this trip. We'll be neighbors as we are staying nrxt door!
