My hubby and my two daughters (19, 21) and my niece and her husband (31, 32) are all coming down to paradise May 16.  My niece and her hub and my two girls all want to experience some night life while in the area.  We are staying in a villa in South Akumal for 10 days.  My niece is going to buy tickets for CongoBongo and I'm sure mine wanna go and maybe me.  My question is this...where else is there a good place for fun night life in that area?  Do the resorts open to the public for that and does anyone have anything?  If there is a thread that answers this, I didn't check so sorry if this has been asked and answered.  Never had to think about this before because my kids weren't old enough!  Thanks in advance.  Oh, when is the May happy hour?  and where?

Blue Parrot. But I promise, Coco Bongo is for EVERYONE. Its amazing. I'm 52. I saw it when I was 40. My date was mid 30s. It's just an incredible thing. It's a step into Vegas meets Mexico.

If you're taking a cab to and from Playa, you can make a whole evening and early morning of it by focusing on Calle 12 between Avenida 15 and the beach. A couple dozen of the bigger-name clubs are on 12th, with the stretch between Avenida 10 and La Quinta being the most densely packed. Note that not much is going on before about midnight. Have a leisurely dinner on La Quinta at about 9:00 and your clubbing should be in synch with everyone else's.

We stay near here in PDC
I can't hear you

I SAID WE STAY NEAR HERE @ CALLE 12 AND FIRST AVE

I SEE YOUR MOUTH MOVING BUT I CAN"T FREAKIN HEAR YOU

NEAR THE BLUE PARROT

TWO CARROTS ?

BLUE PARROT

TWO KARATS!!!

NO , BLUE PARROT

OH

WE STAY NEAR HERE IN PDC

SAY AGAIN

I SAID, LUV YOU BABE

THAT'S SO SWEET

Out of habit we often stay one night at the Hotel Rosa Mirador with industrial earplugs , First Ave just north of the Blue Parrot before going to AKUMAL for our longer LG lodgings . For 50 or 60 bucks four friends could crash right in the party zone if you had different tolerances to partying or expectations . We have stayed there for a few years but the noise really is a deal breaker for more than one night .

Too funny, Juan. Yes, the fun is rather densely packed down at that end of the street.

You remind me a days gone by, Juan.....not too sure if I want to relive them....but, who said I have to talk anyhow?  Just used to do a lot of smiling and head nodding....Do any of the resorts allow outsiders into their nightclubs?  If so, who has some good ones?  or is PDC the only place that doesn't close up early?

There is the Hacienda at Bahia Principe which is open to the public. It is at the entry to the resort(s). Otherwise my guess is No, resorts do not allow outsiders on the premises without a substantial fee, if at all.
