There is only 2 of us, and I have driven in Q.R. Mexico before, but I hate driving from/to the airport, especially the return when there is the additional stress of checking in for a flight time while avoiding the police. I see the LG website offers van transport for up to 10 passengers, but wonder if there is a cheaper service for only 2 of us and our 3 suitcases? We're staying at the Hotel Akumal Caribe. (Edited) Thanks!

We have been going for a number of years and used to always rent a car and drive from the airport. As the area has grown it became more stressful on my hubby doing the driving, and so we always use USA Transfers now. Much more relaxing start to our vacation. No delay in getting to Akumal by having to do the rental thing. If we really want a car, we get one while in Akumal. The money is well worth avoiding the stress in my opinion.

We have used USA transfers and Cancun Shuttle. Cancun Shuttle has made a few minor errors here and there, where USA really impressed me the one time we used them. Cancun Shuttle REALLY impressed me the first time, but feel off after. I had paid for VIP which per their website means there is a vehicle waiting for your arrival and once you arrive you don't have to wait (besides it is for your exclusive use). Well, the Cancun Shuttle guy was on the radio off and on for 30 min, then disappeared trying to find us a shuttle. I was really disgusted. You know what its like standing out there in the heat, being constantly asked if you need trans. Last time was better, I explained at booking to Cancun Shuttle what had happened and they attempted to make it up with me in a minor way. I also asked specifically for the driver we had, Paco, that we really liked and they obliged. They let us down at departure, saying they were overbooked and no one available to come get us at CRT. We were running out of time and so I called USA. They were fast, courteous and most of all.....precisely on time.

(Edited) Thanks! oooorrrr you could be like me.....Save money by taking the ADO bus to Playa, eat at one of your favorite restuarants, (Carboncitos) and relax. Then after you are getting into the laid back vibe and the OMG I'm on vacation feeling, grab a beer to go in one of the stores, and negotiate a decent taxi rate to Akumal, I think the last time I paid from Playa to Akumal was $200 pesos (that's not the cheapest, I know) however, bus ticket is what??? US$12-15. So, if you aren't totally in a rush to get to HAC, then that's my suggestion. (fyi - I only have 1 checked bag to roll around, so, if you have a ton of luggage, yeah, lugging it around 5th is not ideal.)
