You know, those things for the snorkel mask to help with tangles. Can't find previous threads with info about them. Tried Googling "hair thingies" to no avail - apparently there is such a thing, but it's a yarn hair extension. Not sure that would be helpful while snorkling! Where can I find the hair thingies for snorkeling? I'd like to get one before our trip next month.

Do you mean the neoprene mask strap covers?

Great question, Mevose! I almost forgot about the hair strap. Thanks for the link, Steve! I will definitely be needing one- no more pulling out my hair to get my mask off!

That is one of the main reasons I don't like to snorkel. Losing half my hair, when I take off the mask.

Used onein September and liked it. Think I might add a bandana just to protect my scalp from the sun.

Those neoprene mask strap covers are the best! I used to rip half my hair out of my head, but since I got one I have never had a tangle or pull since. They are only about 6 bucks through any of the on-line snorkel shops and well worth the money.

Yes neoprene mask strap is must. Also, I use a head cover to help with preventing head burn. A simple bandana will work or you can go with something like a scuba du rag.

They also make neoprene bandanas, baseball type caps and hair wraps.
