We will be in Akumal soon and I know this has probably been asked (and answered) a bunch of times BUT, if you could do one adventure park, which one would you do?

We are a mature couple (almost 60) but healthy and active. Don't care about dolphins (think it's cruel) but would love to zipline, snorkel in a cave, ???

Thanks for any thoughts on this.

I'm not much of a help because I can't speak from experience, but we're going to Hidden Worlds (it has snorkeling/cenote stuff, a few zip lines, something called a Sky Cycle...). Mostly because of proximity (vs Xplor or Xcaret, for example), the variety of activities, and it's more of a half day excursion. A colleague just got back from Jungle Maya Expedition, which sounds similar to Hidden Worlds and is closer to Tulum... She is 30 and really enjoyed it but also was with her folks who are ~60 and they loved it as well...

Last year my wife and I went to Xplor. Great way to spend a day. I'm also in my sixties and had no problems enjoying everything in the park!

Explor is awesome, it contains four elements. Zip line, all terrain vehicles, kayaking through under ground caves and rivers, and floating in the caves and rivers. We did it October 2011 just as hurricane Rina was barreling down on the Yucatan. We had the park to ourselves. The zip lines are first class with automatic brakes that made me laugh out loud everytime. Some zips take you in the water. Prepare to walk a lot and climb the spiraling towers to get to the zips. Great view from some of them. Prepare to be wet most of the day. They also have a impressive buffet that is included with the price of admission. We are going to go again in March! Needed are good river/water shoes and shorts over your bathing suits so the harness won't cut into your legs.

Thanks for responses.

Not sure we'll have enough time (is there ever enough time!?) but we shall see.

Now to go pack! We leave in the morning. YeeHaw.
