Just back from a week in Playa Caribe #6. As advertised, the condo is gorgeous, well kept and clean, and the ocean views fantastic. The staff are very friendly and hard-working. The abandoned building next door was annoying at first, and then we just got used to it. Contrary to what some have said, you could occasionally hear people in the condo above. One night they seemed to be moving chairs around for hours, scraping the tiles, and another night someone thought it would be a great idea to wander about in high heels after 11 p.m. Other than that, the condo was everything you could wish for and I'm sure we'll be back. We may book another unit just for variety!

In case anyone is interested in learning more on the abandoned building, a couple of other threads on that.

PC is our first choice. We like the casitas. Great staff and super location.

Did you have a chance to snorkel in HMB while you were there? I like the views you get from Playa Caribe over HMB.

yikes. We will be in PC #6 on Wed for 10 days. I hope they have taken off their hi heels by then.

We stayed in PC 5 last year And it was great. We were used to the abandoned building within a couple of hours.

One question - is there any salt or sugar in the Unit. I bought some salt last time, and I begged LBV for some sugar. My margs were too sour.

We are spending a month in PC #8. Can't wait! We loved our Casita Maria last year, too. THe ground floor does have advantages.

Bmoguy: there was no sugar in the unit when we left Saturday. There was a small container of salt in the cupboard to the left of the stove in a small basket with other spices. The pretty salt and pepper shakers on the stove were empty! You will love the condo - the sunrise will wake you every morning just after 6 and you can start another day in paradise!

Thanks for taking the time to give Playa Caribe a positive review, Dee. Salt gets all clumped up down there, so it is a good idea to buy some when you stock up on groceries. Spices don't last long, either.

Here's another forum entry on the Casa Blanca building--

no worries. I went to a little take out place and took a few packets of salt and sugar. Instead of sugar I would like to use agave syrup but I can never find it. Any hints?

Leaving tomorrow - hope the weather is ok

Bmoguy, I like my margs a litttle sweeter than LBV serves even tho I order top shelf.  (Gran Marnier helps to sweeten the lime juice but FEW places have it besides LBV)  Just ask for a little sugar syrup!  Simple syrup, to cooks, or reduced sugar water to others.  Either way, they will bring you a shot glass of liquid sugar to add.

bmoguy: Another liquor used in MX in place of Cointreau or Grand Marnier is called "Controy" (a knock-off, I suppose of Cointreau). Sometimes it's in an orange-shape bottle!

Wow....you like your margaritas sweeter than LBV? I have never been there but is on my 'bucket list.' I actually prefer margaritas that are not sweet and have found that almost everyone makes them too sweet for my tastes. I am so glad you said this.
