I have seen some of the posts for xpu ha. Is it better to go on the weekend or week day. How crowded does it get. We will be in akumal next week and are planning a trip to xpu ha. Has anyone been there for the live entertainment on the weekend?

also I have seen the picture of marker 265km and the sign. Is that the road where the arrow is or is the road a little way north.

Here's a better look at the entrance. That road goes to the water.

It depends on what you are looking for.

We always arrive around 10:00 am. The beach is dead quiet, we grab a chair at the beach club, and go from there. Even on a busy spring break week, the beach is not that crowded. The beach club will get more crowded as the day goes on. There are tour groups, from cruise ships who stop in, but they leave very quickly. On the weekends, the place gets really busy, between 12-2:00 pm. Lots of local families, show up.

Personlly, I'd rather not have the band, and the crowds, so I like to go on a weekday, but I have also been there on the weekend, and it wasn't too bad.

I guess we will just play it by ear. Usually when you are on holiday your list of places and when to go seems to fly out the window. I will definitely show up there, but who knows when

^^^^^ Another instance of where a picture (or photo) is worth a 1000 words!

2 years ago in May we took a collectivo there during the week. LOVED IT! Beach and water are out of this world wonderful! But we already knew that from previous stays at CRT. ENJOY and of course tell us all about it!!

They were having music on Sunday afternoons.  Didn't start on time but was good band and good fun!  Not too crowded.  Think it was last May tho.

Summerlove...how far on the collective and where to get off? We will be staying at CRT. How far do we have to walk in, and which way to turn when we get to the beach? Any info appreciated.

kitley2001 CRT is on xpu ha beach so no need for a collectivo. Just go to the beach at the hotel turn right , take a short walk and you will see the beach club and swing bar. We took a collectivo to that beach club when we were not staying at CRT because we love that incredible beach.

Kitley as summerlover said take a right turn at the beach and walk about 100 yards and there it is. You can see the beach chairs from CRT.
