Can anyone tell me if there are any public laundry facilities in Half Moon Bay? Does the Hacienda de la Tortuga have it's own?

Hi there. There is a drop-off laundry service across the street from the Super Chomak. I can't remember what they charge (not too much), but it's nice because your stuff comes back all folded and clean. Also, if you're staying in a villa, sometimes the housekeeping staff will do your laundry for you. Just be sure to tip them generously!

Mulgrew's Laundry right next door to the El Publito grocery store. If you get your stuff in early enough you can pick it up later that day.

In my 8 am can be picked up after 5pm. It's not expensive at all! Before we had our place I would use them at least twice. Once mid trip for clean clothes (less required to pack) 2nd time would be the day before taking off...no laundry to do when we got home :)

We take ours into "town". Its cheaper and they use some type of laundry soap that makes the clothes smell soooooo good! Last time, I took a couple of pillowcases just so I could have the smell when I got home. (I put them in zip lock bags so they "keep" longer!)

Don't take any of your favorite stuff to Mulgrew. We have used them many times but the last several times we have had an issue each time. Whites came back blue twice and then the other time, they lost a favorite shirt of my sisters. Then when you inquire about the missing item, all you get is a shoulder shrug. I won't take my stuff there again. Maybe next time we will try the place in the pueblo.

There are always places to drop your laundry off. I'm not sure what the charge in Akumal as I don't spend much time there but the going rate should be around 15 pesos per kilo. Sheets and towels are a little more.

Guess we have been lucky with Mugrew's...never had a problem with whites coming back different colors.....

Others have used the one in town but I really didn't want to haul the laundry all the way over there.....only run we do to the pueblo is for chicken....

We've used Mulgrew's too, good service. But I don't take my favorite clothes there either, just undies and t-shirts mostly. Have had laundry mishaps at other places in Mexico, like using bleach for unbleachables, so I play it safe.

The one time we used them (Mulgrews) our whites came back yellow, but the rest of the stuff came out great. I would use them again.

Never had a problem, used them many times, but most of my stuff is undies, t-shirts and maybe a pair or shorts or polo shirt.

We always take our laundry to Tulum. Gives us an excuse to go to town (not that we need an excuse to go to Tulum). We found a great place. Clothes always ready when we want them and professionally done. About half the price of Akumal.
Used Mulgrew's once, that was enough for us.
