Well this is certainly the most rainy stay we have had...the 1st part of the week was sunny but since Wed.on cloudy & rainy most of the day & the forecast does not look great for the next few days.

We are making the most of it...and by the looks of the various webcams along the coast Cancun is sunny so I am missing my beach walks & even though I am NOT a Cancun fan we will probably drive up for the day and do a beach stroll just to grab some sunshine.

We had a nice day despite the rain & clouds with a visit yesterday with some friends from Vancouver who are doing a 4 month stay in a cute tiny 1 bedroom unit near the Yak kul lagoon on Half Moon Bay. It was interesting to see what you can find and at what rates , they are across the road from the beach but have a top floor unit fro about $1400.00 a month.

There seems to be more properties for sale than I have ever seen before...I don't know if this is because of recessionary times or ???

Despite the wet weather here I remind myself it is -40C below in Manitoba right now!

Yes a rainy day or two in Akumal is much better than a cold snowy day up north.....

Sounds like you are having a good time.....so party hard and take some great pics on your beach walks.

How is ABR - someone reported the pasta station was gone

Lasy Nov, they no longer made pasta to order but they had a nice pasta station to the right of the grill

Yes they no longer have that nice pasta station....they still have various pastas in warming tray...some days...not so "warm"

I do miss that...however lots to eat!

ABR is as lovely as always , lovely beach, great staff...i think because of all the rain it seems quieter...I will try and post more in the next few days.

As my previous post...to me the only "bad" part is breathing smoke from all the smokers in the bar...you can't get away from it no matter where you sit... including cigars (YUK) included...in my opinion they MUST fix this...have a separate smoking area somehow that we aren't breathing it. It really is the only bar and to not be able to sit there and enjoy a drink in the evening does not seem fair.

But the bar is outside; exactly where would the smokers go?

Don't get me wrong; I'm an ex-smoker and don't enjoy smoke much either, but I realize I'm in a foreign country.

Sorry about the rain. Of course, if you love to snorkel you'll be wet anyway right? Since you are also a photographer, would you do me a favor and post a pic with reverse perspective of the webcam with Lol Ha?

Ex-smokers here too.  And while we don't get overly excited about the occasional waft of cigarette smoke, there seemed to be quite a few cheap, stinky-a$$, third-world cigar "aficionados" in the ABR most evenings in October.

We would usually try to grab one of the double adirondack chairs on the ocean side of the bar to keep from being smoked out.

I'll admit to the occasional cigar maybe once a year - maybe even longer.  But it's usually out hunting or fishing with the guys, never in an area of public congregation and it'll cost more than a buck-fifty...

Hope it gets sunnier soon.

We had the most rain ever in Cozumel last may and it does get old quickly. I find Margaritas help me endure..........

Hey Linda,
You don't want to be home now!
Windchills consistently below -30.
Enough snow with the wind that we have to shovel daily.
We are supposed to warm up to -5 ish for a couple days and back to the freezer next week.
Grab the Adirondacs that Snow mentioned and stay warm.
