Jorge and Elizabeth own Suenos Tulum and live in Akumal. Their kiddos used the colectivo to get to and from school. They said, if you pass for a local you pay less than a gringo. I think I remember her telling me their kids paid 180p. So you can see, the price varies. It's a very small difference however so...

This year I have been charged 30 pesos Chemuyil <> Tulum, and 20 pesos Chemuyil <> Akumal. A couple days ago while waiting for a collectivo to Tulum a cab stopped and picked me up. I got out at San Fransisco in Tulum and gave him 30 pesos and he didn't complain.

I think that the OP, simply wants to know the standard prices. Yes, having an idea about what to expect to pay, is very helpful, especially if you want to make sure you have correct change. I know prices have gone up, and I want to pay the right price too, so I appreciate threads like this. Having said that, cq, any driver, on any day, can charge you whatever they want. My theory... Find out from the locals, what you should expect to pay, be prepared with exact change, or slightly more. When you get off, hand the driver the money, walk away like you know exactly what you are doing. Don't look back, and don't hesitate, like you are asking if it's enough. If you are paying a fair price, and you pay it, and walk away, I have never had anyone call me back. I have seen drivers charge people, a lot! A group of Canadians from Gran Bahia, to the ruins, were charged $5 US per person. We went from Akumal, to Tulum pueblo and only paid $50 pesos total, for 2 of us. Like we always say, "if you act like you belong, you belong." As it gets more popluar, I'm afraid it will become more popular, to overcharge tourists.
