Ashamed to say I disappeared after our trip to ABR in September. Thought about the great LGs (how could I not?) but didn't even check the webcam. Family and work responsibilities took over. Belated hello to the folks we met while there.
Getting back in a vaca state of mind. Hubby and I are going to try a short visit to Cozumel in April. (Oh, we will definitely return to Akumal. Tell the tortugas we will see them in September again.) Done a couple of day trips to Cozumel but never stayed there. Undoubtedly some folks have some pearls of wisdom to share.

We are staying April 25-19 at the Secrets Aura. We have never stayed a a Secrets resort so are going with open minds since they are in the process of transitioning from the Aura and part of Sabor. We will be happy with a clean room, the ocean breeze, decent snorkeling (not expecting Akumal), decent food and a cocktail or two.

I imagine we will get off the resort. We don't plan a lot of stuff ahead of time, prefering to go with the flow when we get there. We definitely want to do some snorkeling. Got our own gear before our trip last fall and loved the convenience of it. Beach snorkeling... Boat snorkeling... We are open to suggestions on thant and other things to do. We enjoy a cocktail or two (or three!) but wouldn't consider us big partiers.

I had read the CAFB group report as suggested by VSD. Great start. Made me ready to go and sure there would be good snorkeling.
THEN I read your report. Loved all the details -- and there are never too many snorkeling shots. Chuckled at the bano ratings. We used to tease my younger sister. When she was a child, she always had to use the restroom whereveer we were. We ended up accusing her of checking out the bathroom every time. We laughed; she didn't.
