I have been watching the other forums on this hotel Look at the a current thread on this hotel in LGs AI forum http://forums.locogringo.com/forums/tt.asp?forumid=3 There are 2 distinct parts to this resort The cheaper - jungle section restricts your use of the facility's restaurants / bars so upgrade if you can

VSD, I am watching the TA reviews as well...bizzarre and conflicting set of opinions, esp the last two! The place has promise as an alternative to ABR but will have to see a few less 1/5 before I leap (or a trusty LG review)...will someone please go there for a few days and give us the straight goods?

We booked in october for feb 5 to 15, didn't even hear of the split then we are pretty easy to please so we'll see what its all about.I've read hundreds of reviews since then, but i am a true believer in" i have to see it for myself".I will give an honest report for a group of six ranging in age from 12 to 70 upon return.I am sure it will be awsome,it has to be better than all this snow and cold here in Alberta....ha ha. Adios

I was finally fed up with all the bad reviews on this place so we just cancelled and booked at the Iberostar Tucan in the Playacar complex today. It will be my first time bringing my kids to Mexico so I want them to have a pleasent experience.. otherwise I would probably stick it out at the Oasis Tulum.

Last February Resort was called Be live Grand then. I would be careful rebooking now though - reviews are very poor since Oasis took over and split it into 2 sections

Playacar is like staying in Santa Monica. Not a whole lot of Mexico going on there. The entire beach is wall to wall resorts.
