Did you ask them if they'll charge you for that stop?
I just received an email from them that they would charge $30 to stop at a grocery store even though I just wanted to run in and buy wine and beer.
Or... Can you purchase the pesos at home through your bank or a currency exchange place? You might get a better rate that way. Our bank will order them in for me.

I think the easiest bank branch to get in an out of from the 307 is the Scotiabank in the Centro Maya (the mall where the Soriana is).

I saw that they exchanged US$ at the airport at about 11.9 to 1
Noit bad as hotel lobbies give 11 to 12 to 1
ATMs will give above 12.5
