Anyone know how to contact Francisco? We would like to go out with him at least once while we are in Akumal.

You need to send Trollboy8 a message on this forum. He should be able to set you up with Francisco. If you do a search on this forum for trollboy8, you can view some of his past posts that have some good information on fishing out of Akumal. He set us up with Francisco in May of 2012 and we had a great trip.

I would try Trollboy first as suggested. If he is not around on the boards, you can try to email the Akumal Dive Center and inquire with Chepo as to how to reach Francisco. You will have a great trip with him, I have many great days of fishing on his boat. He is a great captain and very passionate about his job and will put you on the fish if they are biting.

In November his boat was always out there in the am just to the right of the lifeguard stand if you are facing the water. It was very slow so we spent a lot of time watching him wait to entice people into a little boat trip.

My hubby fishes with him whenever we are down there. Chepo owns the boat so he will definitely find him for you! My husband had the pleasure of fishing with trollboy8 (Jimmy) and had a blast. He caught a beautiful mahi and that's great for November. I wish I knew how to post pictures so I could show you and then you would know what Francisco looks like! If there are fish you will bring em home!

Hey Fishing Friends, I've been inundated at work so haven't been checking the boards as regularly. If you have PMed me or e-mailed me I will try to get back with you TODAY. I can definitely get you fixed up with Francisco and just set up a trip with my friend Pancho down in Punta Allen for some flats fishing.--Jim

If you don't mind, please e-mail me instead of PMing me. I would be VERY happy to help get you set up with Francisco for either a set day or to just set up a time for you to find him and set up your own day. I will, however, try to clean out my inbox. Talk to you soon!

MOM, trollboy will get you set up, no worry, and Fransisco knows where to find the "blue", "BLUE waters.....Sails!"
But remember, go with no expectations 'cause it IS called "fishing" and not "catching"....there's always a few adrenaline filled seconds from a few good reel screams, and if luck will have it, a 20 minute fight may be in store with a 50 + lb mahi or sailfish. But have been fishless too, nothing brought to the boat...other trips, some "Bonita"/small tuna or barracuda...all very good table fare! And just being on the water for a few hours with a friend or two, a few cervezas,....all is right with the world
Have fun!!

Hi Maple
Agree 100%!!!
A boat on the water, a hopeful cast, good peep and a drink....life is good!
Oh we would be ecstatic to catch something and as a bonus eat it (we catch & release here in NY/PA/NJ)! But we don't see fishing as an end goal activity; it is an 'enjoy the moment' thing for us as is most of what we plan on vacation.

trollboy ~ emailed you
