We are going down next month but the place we'll be staying won't be avalible till our second day there. Any suggestions on where to stay? And Jeanie has already nixed sleeping on the beach.

We always stay at the Omni in Puerto Adventuras on our odd nights. . It is a splurge, but its a wonderful place.

Dirk, Try one of the casitas on HMB. For about $80-90 you can stay the night. Walkups are even cheaper, closer to $70. There should be plenty of availability. If you don't mind going to Tulum stay at itour. Great place and priced right. There are very inexpensive rooms in Akumal Pueblo. I believe the owner of the hardware store has a place.
