Well after leaving Gimli Manitoba on 11Jan in a true blizzard (70km winds - 50 miles an hr. windchill to minus 30, and driving to the Winnipeg Airport for an overnight stay we are finally in paradise.
Luckily our flight left on time Sat. morn, it was amazing to see those snow plows clearing the runways....arrive Cancun & our transfer to Isla Holbox & the Mawimbi Hotel went smoothly. The weather has been fantastic and I can't tell you how fabulous that 1st beer & margarita on the beach went down.
We will leave for Akumal Beach Resort.this Sat. ...so to those folks who will be around...see you soon!
Hard to think of starting a trip report...still walking one of the 2 the most gorgeous beaches in the world & watching the waves.
We are so fortunate and I appreciate every moment.

Would love to hear about Holbox, just do not know if I could tear myself away from that gorgeous turquoise water Linda!
